BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT Vol. 6 Issue 1 • June 14, 2018 The Grandview DigFest is celebrating its 8th year on Saturday June 16th from 4 to 10:30 p.m. The annual festival will again take place in the First Avenue Park in The Grandview Yard. Digfest began in 2011 as a festival highlighting locally crafted beer, wine and spirits. While it’s moved away from wine, there are plenty of options if you’re not a beer fan (is that a real thing?). There will be three distilleries, a liqueur crafter and more than 60 different beers to taste. As usual, admission to the festival is free, so everyone is welcome to join the fun, listen to great music, eat some delicious food and enjoy the vendors. If patrons wish to drink adult beverages, tickets are $6 each which buys a five-ounce cocktail or a 12-ounce beer. The best deal in town is the Presale Packages! You can skip the ticket lines, get larger pours (16-ounce souvenir cup) and get discounted ticket bundles. Presales can be purchased until the day before Digfest, at www. grandviewdigfest.com. You can plan to be entertained by awesome music, too. Kicking off the opening at 4 p.m. will be DJ Carlo, followed by FeverSmile at 5:15 p.m. Big Mood goes on at 6:15 p.m. and PopGun will round out the evening from 7:15 to 10 p.m. All of the band information can also be found on the www.grandviewdigfest.com website.

About Digfest Digfest (Drinks in Grandview Festival) began in 2011 as a celebration of local craft breweries, distilleries and liqueurs. The industry was just at the beginning stages in the Central Ohio area, and since then, Digfest has tripled in size. We now feature dozens of breweries, distilleries and spirit producers. Complement that with amazing local eateries and entertainment, and you have one great party.

Why Digfest? We thought it was a cool new idea a few years ago that some people were taking their passion for beer, wine and spirits and building a business around it. The Tri-Village Chamber works every day to promote businesses in the area, so to help propel these microproducers was natural. And everyone loves trying new flavors and twists on traditional, so it was an instant hit. This year’s sponsors include Pathways Financial Credit Union, The Grandview Yard, TQL, Ares Sportswear, United Rentals, Holbrook & Manter, HomeAdvisor, Golf Car Company, Jason Design Group, Vital Companies, JackFM, Circle270 Media, CityScene Media Group, and ThisWeek News, Destination Grandview, Hyatt Place Hotel, and the city of Grandview Heights.

In 2011, we had 14 vendors, mostly wine producers, and an attendance of 1,100. We hoped for 1,000 people to show, so we knew we had something to build on. Then, the craft industry exploded in Central Ohio and by 2017 we hosted 6,500 patrons and had 43 vendors. It’s been a great party since day one!
