Business Police Academy scheduled to start May 2 The Hilliard Police Department is having its inaugural Business PoliceAcademy class on May 2. The Business Police Academy is a cooperative educational program to enhance communication between businesses, their employees and the police. The design of the academy is to foster kno wledge about crimes against businesses. With this program, businesses will recognize potential threats and develop prevention strategies to curb criminal activity. The purpose of the academy is to facilitate a better understanding of how criminals target businesses. Through education, business owners and employees will gain knowledge that they can use to protect themselves from becoming a target of crime and know what to do if they are victimized. The Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring this class as we believe that the knowledge that will be shared will benefit our business community in many ways.
