Final Fall Fair results By Margot Cain, Windermere Here are the remaining winners from the Windermere Fall Fair and Scarecrow Festival. The only results not available were for the floral arrangements. Wife Carrying Contest: What a race! Once again, Jeremiah Breeze and Heather English bested everyone. We’re going to have to learn their secret training regimen, although Jeremiah did look a little out of breath at the end. This amazing couple also put their prizes up for auction in aid of Keira Neal. Each keg of beer raised $200! 3rd Karen Reisle “Photo Shoot 1” Best Overall Photograph: Robert Firth: “Kaeden & Rae Dawn” Baking and Canning: This was not an official category this year as we didn’t have anyone to organize it, but some folks brought in their canning and baking so I judged it and picked what I thought was the best of each. I am not an expert but here are the winners anyway: Baking: Darlene Friesen “Harvey Wallbanger Cake” Canning: Alice Ede “Zesty Zucchini Relish” The relish was so good, I made sure to buy a jar at the fair and have already finished it!! The fair was an amazing success again this year and all who were involved as volunteers enjoyed every part of it. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who helped. Gord Askey did a great job as emcee and all the musicians were excellent, keeping us dancing to the bitter end. All the vendors and crafters were very pleased with their day, and I know that they will be eager to take part again next year. I can’t start to name all the volunteers but we appreciate all the minutes and hours that everyone donates. We already have next year’s date selected - Saturday, September 13th. If you are interested in signing up right now, give me a call at 342-2018.
