RENTAL INFORMATION Park Rentals Several outdoor space, including covered pavilions, picnic areas, fields, and more can be rented or reserved from Parks & Recreation. For more information about rates and availability, contact Park Services (706) 653-4189 Recreation Center Rentals Indoor recreation center facilities, including game rooms, gyms, kitchens, or entire indoor recreation centers are available from Parks & Recreation for rental. For more information about rates and availability, contact Recreation Services (706) 225-4658 Rental Availability Reservations are made by contacting the Columbus Recreation Division. Reservations must be made no less than two (2) weeks or no more than six (6) months in advance, unless the Director of Parks & Recreation or the Recreation Services Division Manager grants prior approval.

Reservations are made on first come, first served basis.

The Super Center Community room may be reserved on Saturday or Sunday between the hours of 9:00AM – 11:00PM. The Super Center gymnasiums may be reserved from 9:00AM – 11:00AM and 7:00PM – 11:00PM on Monday – Friday and 9:00AM – 11:00PM on Sunday. Ardahilia Mack Recreation Center may only be rented for a maximum of eight (8) hours in a twenty-four (24) hour period.

The activities and events of the Columbus Parks & Recreation Department have priority over all other reservations. Columbus Parks & Recreation facilities are also subject to holiday closings, construction, repairs, and operational emergencies that may preclude use of a rental facility.

Should any of these circumstances arise during a period when a rental has been confirmed, Columbus Parks & Recreation may cancel the rental or may give the option to the renter of relocating the event to another available facility. If the event is cancelled, the security deposit and rental fee will be refunded. There will be no other liability for the Columbus Parks & Recreation Department.

In addition to the rental policies set forth below, which may be implemented by Departmental Managers and Supervisors, the Recreation Division reserves the right to deny or refund any facility reservation when the Parks & Recreation Director deems the activity to be detrimental to public safety, fraudulent, or criminal.

Rental Policies It is the rental policy of Columbus Parks & Recreation to rent on a first come, first served basis only. Columbus Parks & Recreation does not take reservations over the telephone. Payment of the security deposit and the rental fee is required when the paperwork is completed. Facility availability: Community Room and Kitchen is available Saturday and Sunday 9:00AM – 11:00PM. The entire facility is available Saturday 9:00AM – 2:00PM and 6:00PM – 8:00PM Sunday.

Rentals are not confirmed until rental agreement is completed and full payment is received. The time the renter books and pays for includes set up, clean up, as well as event time! Please be mindful that hours paid for are not just for the event!

RENTAL INFORMATION Any changes to the rental agreement must be completed at least three weeks prior to event.

Columbus Parks & Recreation only accepts the following forms of payment: - Check - Money Order - Visa - MasterCard - Discover - Debit Cards (with the Visa or MasterCard logo) The renter will receive his/her security deposit back in approximately six weeks (30 business days) after the event. The security deposit will be refunded provided the facility was left clean and there were no damages. The security deposit will be refunded to the name on the check, money order, or credit/debit card presented for payment. Columbus City Council has set the schedule for security deposits.

In the evet of cancellation, Columbus Parks & Recreation requires at least a 72-hour notice in order to receive a full refund (security deposit and rental fee). If the renter cancels less than 72 hours prior to the event, only the security deposit will be refunded.

Office hours for reservations are 8:00AM – 4:00PM, Monday – Friday.

Special Event Fees – If the renter charges for an event, an additional fee of $35.00 will be assessed as an administrative fee. This fee is due immediately upon booking the facility. The person signing the rental agreement will be held responsible for the payment of this fee.

Concessions – Renters may supply their own food if it will not be sold. Columbus Parks & Recreation must provide all food for sale. Exclusive Rights of Columbus Parks & Recreation.

Minimum Age – Renters must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to rent a facility.

Renter is responsible to see that all activities are properly controlled and supervised. Adequate adult chaperones must be provided if group members are less than eighteen (18) years of age.

There is a limit of 40 participants under the age of eighteen (18). One chaperone per ten (10) minor participants must be provided.

Tables & Chairs – A limited number of tables and chairs are available at each facility. Tables and chairs are not permitted outside the building. The renter is responsible for setting up and taking down the tables and chairs. Failure to take down the tables and chairs will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit. If additional tables and chairs are needed, the renter may bring them in; however, Columbus Parks & Recreation assumes no responsibility for items brought into the facility.

The City of Columbus, its departments, employees, and agents do not assume any liability toward the renter and guests. The renter must sign a waiver agreement at the time the application is completed.

RENTAL INFORMATION Alcoholic Beverages – No alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, or unauthorized weapons will be allowed in any Columbus Parks and Recreation facility.

Tobacco – Use of any tobacco products is absolutely prohibited. This includes recreation centers, outside park areas, pools, and parking lots.

Music – renter must comply with the City of Columbus Noise Ordinance. When the renter has reserved less than the entire facility, the music may not be heard outside the room rented.

No Commercial Activity – There shall be no fundraising activities, door charges, or sale of any article for private gain (jewelry, shoes, Tupperware parties, Avon Shows, etc.). Fundraising events will be granted to non-profit groups only. Non-profit status is defined as any group holding a 501c3 tax exemption from the Internal Revenue Service.

No Continuing Reservations – Reservation requests for more than one-time use must be submitted to the Division Director or Supervisor and may be approved for a one (1) month period. Individuals/Groups may reapply the next working day after their last reservation.

Entertainment/Gambling – Gambling is prohibited at all facilities with the exception of “Recreational Bingo” as defined by O.C.G.A. § 16-12-51. Adult entertainment activities as described in Section 14-223 of the Columbus Code are prohibited (i.e. strippers).

All public performance of movies is prohibited at all facilities. Neither the rental, the purchase, nor the lending of a videocassette or DVD carry with it the right to exhibit such a movie publicly outside the home, unless the site where the video is used is properly licensed for copyright compliant exhibition (Title 17 US code, Public Law 94-553, 90 Stat 2541).

With the exception of the deep fryer and the popcorn machine, the public may use the kitchen facilities. The deep fryer and popcorn machine are not for public use.

When the use of the building continues past the time for which the rent has been paid, an hourly charge will be assessed. Cost will be dependent upon what part of the facility you are renting.

The renter cannot enter the facility until the event time stated on the rental contract.

Absolutely no food or drink is permitted outside the Community Room and Kitchen area of the facility.

Absolutely no inflatables will be allowed inside the facility. Inflatable will be allowed outside the facility provided there is enough space.

Violation of these rules will result in loss of security deposit and rental privileges.

Chocolate ice cream is the second most common flavor, surpassed only by vanilla. We will be having different types of toppings.

National Corn on Cob Day June 11th 12:00PM We be having corn on cob with our meal that day. Corn on the cob is also known in different regions as pole corn, corn stick, sweet pole, butter-pop, or long maize. There are so many different ways you can fix it!

Fathers’ Day Lunch June 14th 12:00PM We will be coming together to celebrate our fathers with lunch.

Fourth of July BBQ July 2nd 11:00AM Come and celebrate Independence Day with a BBQ! Bring your lawn chair, shades, and hat for some fun! Add to festivities by wearing red, white, and blue!

Lane Southern Orchards July 9th 8:30AM We will meet at the Edgewood Senior Center then travel over to Lane Southern Orchard in Fort Valley where we will have punch and observe their peach processing.

Columbus Regional Health Mobile Unit July 11th 10:30AM – 12:00PM Come and get your blood pressure checked and see what information the mobile unit has for our seniors.

July is Parks and Recreation Month, “Game On!” July 19th 10:45AM We will be celebrating Parks & Rec month with lots of fun. We will be playing Connect Four, hula hoop, checkers, and much more.

July Parks & Recreation Month – Bingo, “Game On!” July 25th 1:00PM We will be in different groups of two, four, and six playing different types of bingo!

National Ice Cream Sandwich Day August 2nd 12:00PM We will have a fun day with ice cream sandwiches for dessert!

EDGEWOOD SENIOR CENTER National Night Out August 6th 5:00PM This event will be at the Pop Austin Recreation Center. We will come together and enjoy games, door prizes, food, and music! It is a community-police awareness-raising event in the United States that is held on the first Tuesday of August.

Columbus Regional Health Mobile Unit August 12th 11:00AM Come and get your blood pressure checked and see what information the mobile unit has for our seniors.

National Senior Citizens Day August 21st There will be socializing, door prize, food, and fun! Participants may also get some goodie bags!

Recreation Programs Stretch & Strengthening Exercise Class Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays 9:30AM – 10:30AM Join us for exercise to help with pain associated with Arthritis and other ailments.

Weights and exercise bands are available to use during class. We also have a variety of exercise equipment available to use every day.

Ballroom & Line Dancing/Karaoke Mondays 1:00PM Join Robert every Monday for Ballroom & Line Dancing classes. Mr. Robert teaches a variety of dance moves. This class is for anyone that wants to learn how to dance or for those that love to dance.

Advance Bridge Group Tuesdays & Fridays 1:00PM Advance Bridge is a game of cards that consists of two pairs of players that compete against each other to see who wins.

Bingo Wednesdays 10:30AM You must bring two $1.00 gifts in order to receive a gift if you play Bingo.

Sewing Group Thursdays & Fridays 9:30AM The Sewing Ladies make lap robes and wheel chair bags for the residents of Columbus Hospice. They sew and donate up to 100 lap robes every two weeks.

Parks and Recreation Month Month of July The theme this year is “Game On!” Join us as we team up with the other senior centers for special activities to be announced in the month of July!

Build You Own Ice Cream Sundae July 3rd 10:30AM th Join us as we celebrate the 4 of July. Bring your friends and enjoy some ice cream.

Peach Trip July 9th 8:30AM Join us as we team up with the other senior centers for our Annual Peach Trip to Lane Southern Orchards. The cost for the trip will be $7.00 and you will pay for your own lunch.

Back to School Drive Month of August We will be collecting school supplies for Fox Elementary School for the whole month of August.

National Night Out August 6th 4:00PM We will be partnering up with the Pop Austin Center for games and refreshments for National Night Out. Recreation Programs Moderately Strenuous Exercise Class Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays 8:45AM – 9:30AM Join various staff members in the Recreation Center’s Gym next door. This particular class moves quickly and has more standing than sitting exercises. We also utilize and encourage our participants to use the free weights and resistance bands during class. The gym is also available to work in before and after class.

Our weight room has treadmills and various workout machines available on a first come basis before and after classes.

Stretch & Strengthening Class Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays 9:30AM Join various staff members in the gym for a variety of exercises to help with pain associated with Arthritis and other ailments associated with growing older. This class continues to grow and allows participants to exercise at a slower pace than our first session. Free weights and resistance bands are available for use during class.

Line Dancing Class Mondays & Fridays 10:00AM Join us for some great fun as you enjoy a workout as well. No charge to attend!

Class meets in the dining room. No experience needed.

Pinochle Daily Meets every day. Please bring a partner!

Bingo Tuesdays & Thursdays 1:00PM You must bring two - $1.00 gifts in order to receive a prize when you play Bingo.

If you do not have a gift, you can still play, you just do not win a prize.

FRANK CHESTER SENIOR CENTER Needlepoint Club Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays Meets after the morning exercise in the Ceramics Room. Plastic Canvas, #10 needle for plastic canvas, and yarn will be necessary for any project. Help for beginners and start up supplies are available upon request.

Busy Bee Sewing Class Thursdays 10:00AM Current project is making adult-sized bibs for nursing homes in the area.

Red Hat Society Club 3rd Tuesday of the Month Must be 50 years or older to join. Our dress code is a red hat and red or purple outfit. Locations for meetings vary.

Birthday/Tea Party/Karaoke 3rd Tuesday of the Month 1:00PM Join us for fun, food, and entertainment as we gather to socialize with one another during Tea Time. Karaoke is available. You may bring your own music or choose from our selections. Birthdays for the month are recognized with a gift for the youngest and oldest birthday person present. Cake and ice cream is available for everyone present. Cost is $2.00 per person.

Chair Volleyball Wednesdays 10:00AM – 11:00AM Thursdays 9:00AM – 11:00AM Chair Volleyball meets in the Recreation Center Gym next door. No experience needed. Newcomers are always welcome!

Special Events National Donut Day June 7th Staff will be handing out donuts, while they last, in honor of National Donut Day! National Chocolate Ice Cream Day June 7th 2:00PM Staff will do some trivia questions about chocolate ice cream. Free cones to all participating in honor of National Chocolate Ice Cream Day.

FRANK CHESTER SENIOR CENTER Fathers’ Day Lunch June 14th 12:00PM We will be recognizing our fathers with a special lunch chosen by them. All fathers will receive their lunch at a reduced price. We will also recognize our oldest father and father with the most children.

National Selfie Day June 21st 11:00AM Take a selfie in the park and post it somewhere on social media as a part of National Selfie Day. National Parks & Recreation Month Month of July For the entire month of July, we will be celebrating National Parks and Recreation Month. This year’s theme is “Game On!” We will be teaming up with other departments to see if they have their skills ready! Be sure to check our calendar for a list of activities.

Independence Day Party July 5th 10:00AM Join us for some fun activities as staff quizzes your knowledge about our Nation’s birthday. We also will have a Patriotic Piñata to see who will bust it open and spill the goodies. Wear your red, white, and blue for a chance at a door prize during lunch. Lunch is at noon and advanced sign-ups will be required.

Make reservations by stopping by the center or by calling before 5:00 PM on Wednesday prior to Friday’s lunch. Cost is $5.00 per person. We will be serving BBQ Chicken and some sides to compliment the meat. Ice-cold watermelon will top off the meal for dessert.

Lane Peach Orchard Trip July 9th 9:00AM Trip to the Lane Orchard in Fort Valley to buy peaches and have lunch. We will also be taking time to look around their gift shop that sells a little bit of everything. Cost of trip is $7.00. Lunch is not included in trip cost.

FRANK CHESTER SENIOR CENTER National Night Out August 6th 2:00PM – 5:30PM Join us for National Night Out activities. National Night Out is a communitypolice awareness-raising event to help neighborhoods and police work together to make safer places to work and live. We will be honoring the Southside Police Precinct. During the afternoon shift change, around 2:15PM, staff and seniors will come together to serve hotdogs, chips, and water to all the officers coming and going during that shift change. Once the senior side of the center closes at 5:00 PM, we will join the recreation side of Frank Chester and wait for the motorcade to arrive and enjoy a brief visit from various public safety officials.

We encourage everyone in the community to join us!

National Bowling Day August 12th 2:30PM On Monday, August 12th, we will be celebrating National Bowling Day, which actually falls on Saturday, August 10th. Staff will set up the bowling game on the Wii console and pair the seniors up for some friendly competition. Afterwards, we will enjoy a nice tasty ice cream cone for all that hard work! Everyone is encouraged to attend and the event is free!

National Senior Citizen Day August 21st 1:30PM Staff will be handing out a list of all the places that offer free or discounted services to seniors for National Senior Citizens Day. We will begin playing Bingo at 1:30PM and light refreshments will be included.

The Gallops Senior Center is an active aging facility. We want to keep our seniors active! What is an active aging lifestyle? Active aging is taking advantage of opportunities to enhance your potential for social, physical, and mental well-being throughout your life! We are excited at the Gallops Senior Center and we want you to come and be active with us!

One of our goals is to motivate those who are sedentary to become more active and lead a healthier lifestyle. We seek to provide new and motivating activities.

Active Living At Gallops (ALAG) is a behavior change program that helps individuals overcome their barriers to physical activity. ALAG offers alternatives to structured exercise programs as all physical activity is done outside of a structured class. ALAG’s objective is for our participants to become and stay physically active, overcome barriers, set goals, build confidence, and stay motivated.

Exercise Class I Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays 9:30AM – 10:15AM Classes are designed to give you a complete workout through strengthening, cardio, flexibility, and balance.

Chair Exercise Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays 10:15AM – 11:00AM Chair exercise is geared for those who may need to sit for a large part of the session and those that may need the chair to help steady themselves when standing. This class is appropriate for our A.L.E.D. program. Our workouts are designed for you to work at your own pace.

GALLOPS SENIOR CENTER

Line Dancing Beginners Class Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00AM We have one of the largest line dance groups in the city. The early class teaches you all the steps.

Line Dance Class Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:00AM This session is for the experienced line dancers. Come and be a part of this fun group!

Chair Volleyball Mondays & Thursdays 3:00PM – 4:00PM Come and experience all the fun and excitement! Anyone can participate in chair volleyball. We use a beach ball as the volleyball! Rules of the game are simple and fun. You have to stay in your chair or you will be called for a fanny foul!

Special Events Fathers’ Day Breakfast June 13th 9:30AM Join us as we celebrate all the fathers at Gallops Senior Center with breakfast. We will also have Donnie White as a guest speaker.

Entrepreneur Class Thursdays 5:00PM – 6:00PM Our class is geared toward young men and women that may not know what they want to do when they get out of high school or before college. Everyone has a life style is different and it is a good way of showing them how to start your own business.

Morning Walking Club Wednesdays 11:00AM Participants will meet at the Rec Center and then proceed to take a stroll around the park’s half-mile walking trail. At the end of the year, staff will give out a certificate award to participants with the most miles completed, best attendance, most improved, etc. While this program is aimed toward adults and seniors, minors may participate as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

The Columbus Boxing Team is a boxing club that has been in existence for 17 years.

Boxers range from 8 to 45 years old. The major goal at Haygood is to keep youth out of trouble and off the streets. Potential boxers must train 2 to 3 months before competing.

Some individuals come to the gym to get in shape or to learn how to box, not necessarily to compete.

The gym has 8 heavy bags, 8 double end bags, 10 speed bags, 7 uppercut bags, 2 boxing rings, jump ropes, boxing gloves, and a weight room.

The fee for the Haygood Boxing Gym is $95.00 per year, January through December.

Girls and boys 8 years old and up can join. If you are over 34 years old, you must have a physical. Competition training and weight training available.

Our therapeutic recreation program provides various activities to fit the need of any individual with intellectual, physical, and mental disabilities. We provide a group setting with staff oversight and a daily schedule of learning and wellness activities. The learning activities strengthen social skills enhance a participant’s education and improve independence. Our wellness program highlights physical activities for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. An application process is required to attend the therapeutic recreation programs. No participant is turned down but we may require a caregiver if one-on-one assistance is needed.

Recreation Programs STEAM Class Mondays 11:00AM – 12:00PM The class will focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. We will tackle one subject per week with a fun activity to help us learn!

Basic English Training Camp Mondays 2:00PM – 3:00PM Teaching basic knowledge and skills for individuals with disabilities. The class consists of recognizing and writing the alphabet, numbers, and their names. For other participants, we will cover reading and writing with comprehension by increasing skills and using proper grammar.

Cool Breeze Cooking Tuesdays 10:00AM – 11:00AM The class will highlight some easy cold meals/snacks to enjoy during the summer. You can make these snacks at the beach, in the park, or enjoy after a hot summer day. Our participants will learn how to make these simple dishes and prepare for their friends and family.

THERAPEUTIC RECREATION – POP AUSTIN CENTER Healthy Relationships 101 Wednesdays 11:00AM – 12:00PM Topics discussed will include key tools to a healthy relationship such as trust, honesty, and communication. We will also discuss boundaries, friendship, and dating tips. Our participants will be able to depict the negative and positive qualities of a healthy relationship.

Life Skills Thursdays 10:00AM – 11:00AM Teaching essential skills for the participants to apply within the community. The participants will learn about self-control, chores, technology, social media, employment, and other topics to prepare them for future interactions. This class is designed to apply the necessary tools for our participants to increase their independence.

GAMES, GAMES, GAMES Thursdays 2:00PM – 3:00PM Another way to work your brain in a fun activity. Board games increase social skills and also works out our brain cells. The participants will enjoy games such as UNO, JINGA, and more every week. They will also play group activities and games for team building.

Walking Club Monday – Thursday 9:00AM – 10:00AM This is a beginner through advanced level activity. Anyone can join as the participants walk around in the gym while listening to music. They can take breaks, jog, and walk at their own pace.

Bocce (starts July 1st) Monday 11:00AM – 12:00PM This is a beginner through advanced level activity. We will divide the participants into teams during practice. For competition, teams are created with at least four players.

Players can participate in bocce on Mondays without attending competition for Special Olympics.

Chair Fitness Tuesdays 11:00AM – 12:00PM This is a beginner through advanced level activity. Participants will be required to run, catch, throw, and hit. The team is at the beginner stages of development and staff is continuing to work to increase hand-and-eye coordination for each participant.

THERAPEUTIC RECREATION – POP AUSTIN CENTER Bowling Tuesdays 2:00PM – 4:00PM This activity is for beginners through advanced level participants. We will bowl at Bowlero Columbus each week. Participants will be partnered with individuals of similar skill set. Payment of $1.50 per game is required. Each week we bowl a total of 3 games.

ENERGIZERS Wednesdays 10:00AM – 11:00AM Let’s get your heart racing and your day started with some fun moves and stretching.

We will make this class available for all abilities. Participants will learn various shuffle dances, funny songs to stretch to, and get their day started with some blood racing activities.

Basketball Conditioning Mondays 2:00PM – 3:00PM There are two teams for basketball. The skill level team is for beginners through intermediate players. These players may not be physically able to run up and down the court, but can still learn basic skills of catching and throwing the basketball. The participants also work on shooting and teamwork. The traditional team is for advanced players who understand the concept and can be directed through the game. Participants will be running a full court game and compete against teams of similar skill set.

Swim Days at Rigdon Park Pool 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the Month 10:00AM – 12:00PM Participants will have the opportunity to sign up for a day of splashing fun as we visit the outdoor pool at Rigdon Park.

Creative Art Show Practice Mondays 10:00AM – 11:00AM Wednesdays 2:00PM – 3:00PM Prepare a performance with us scheduled for August 9th. The practice days will consist of group performance, team dances, songs, fashion shows, and more surprises.

Participants are encouraged to attend practice to ensure their performances are top notch!

THERAPEUTIC RECREATION – POP AUSTIN CENTER Special Events Special Olympics – our athletes will train for the following sports: bocce, softball, and cycling. Athletes will have the opportunity to compete at the local invitational and state games. Athletes will have to sign up at least two months prior to the scheduled competition date and train for at least eight weeks. Friday Night Dance July 26th & August 30th 7:00PM – 9:00PM A monthly social for the disabled community and their families. We encourage all ages to attend. Families are asked to bring a dish or drink to share and we have a DJ to keep everyone dancing and having fun. This event is free to the public. No dance scheduled in June due to the annual gala.

July is Parks and Recreation Month “Game On!” Month of July 12:00PM – 1:00PM We will choose various parks in Columbus to visit and eat lunch at for our Picnic in the Park series to discover parks we generally do not frequent.

THERAPEUTIC RECREATION – POP AUSTIN CENTER Outside Walk Rally August 3rd 9:00AM – 11:00AM We will move our daily walking activity to the outdoors as we embark on a walking challenge. We will begin with a Walk Rally to excite and encourage all to participate.

We will end by discussing the importance of walking as it pertains to our health.

National Night Out August 7th 5:00PM – 7:00PM This event is fun filled for the entire community. We will open our doors for community leaders and organizations to provide information to families with children on the spectrum. We will have games, live music, and free giveaways for families to receive. This event is hosted by Columbus Parks and Recreation and The Autism Hope Center.

ATHLETICS 3720 5th Avenue, Columbus, GA 31904 (706) 225-4506 Director: Carson Revell The Athletics Division provides sports programs for adults and youth in Columbus and surrounding areas. The division runs annual tournaments on the local, state, and national level. The division also serves as a liaison to other organizations such as Little League, Columbus Youth Football, and Columbus Youth Soccer Association.

Seasonal Leagues Adult Ultimate Frisbee League The summer season for the Adult Ultimate Frisbee League runs from June to July. We offer the league to anyone 16 and up and games are two nights a week on Monday and Wednesday nights. All games are played at Kinnett Stadium starting at 7:00PM.

Columbus Night Ballers Basketball League The Columbus Night Ballers League is a league for males age of 18 – 27 and females age 18 and up that are looking to still play basketball at a competitive league level. Games will be played Friday and Saturday nights with a seminar on Saturdays during the day.

Teams will practice throughout the week to get ready for the games.

In 1904, she introduced “Blues” as part of her traveling act. For 30 years, her performances contributed to the growing popularity of this truly American music form. A pioneer female recording artist, she made 94 blues records for Paramount before 1928. Managing her own band, she encouraged younger musicians including Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong, Fletcher Henderson, and Bessie Smith. Her grave is in nearby Porterdale Cemetery.

The “Ma” Rainey Home is open year round, handicap accessible (limited), familyfriendly, and admission is free.
