IN THE DARK ABOUT JOB GRADING? Job Grading Service
SEIFSA has established a professional service to assist employers in the verification of employee job grades. In terms of the 1993/94 Main Agreement, the current 13 industry job grades are to be reduced to five. To make the transition as smooth as possible, it is vital that employers ensure that the present job grades of their employees are correct. This is particularly important where actual wage rates as employees may believe that their grades are higher than they are.

Correct job grading at company level will allow management to monitor and implement the job grade reduction process efficiently. It will also promote sound labour relations if it is seen to be done without bias. Job Grading Specialist Tel: 082 920 1803
SEIFSA’s job grading service will be undertaken for a nominal fee by Alard de jager, former General Secretary of the National Industrial Council. Member companies will be entitled to a discount. Each job operation within your company will be reviewed to establish its content and its relationship to the Main Agreement grade structure. The result of the job grading exercise will then be submitted in a comprehensive report to management. Contact sales@seifsa.co.za on call (011) 298-9400.
