Green

About green: spring, environment, freshness, hope, and vivacity...

But I say ...

Into Green

Our nature has various values of green color. Green is the main and primary color in our environment and it represents the process of changing seasons, the beginning of new life. Nature brings up growing, then people establish civilization. Green plays important role in civilizations and cultures. In ancient Egypt, green was used to represent fruits, vegetables and farming on the wall-painting, it also symbolized the fruitful result for a year. Inspired by the use of green color in Egypt culture, I start to look into the relationship between nature and human beings, how people work, response to the environment and observe the role green plays in cultures.

02

Green is the process starting from outside toward inside. It goes through the nature, culture and eventually influences individual. The relationship between green and individuals is full of creativity. It focuses on different aspects of using green in real life which represent certain idea and value the user has toward the color. The story might be the inspiration to the audiences and it is willing to create the openness and invite readers to express thoughts and feedback of “ how they think green is and make interaction with it.

04

Color Harmony

Analogous Yellow green and blue green as analogous colors toward both warm and cool sides on the color wheel maintain the balance and also bring up the steadiness. Through the use of tints in yellow green and blue green, it creates movement and depth and provide the visual experience of freshness and the fresh and life.

07

Complementary Green and red have their own power and vibrate strongly. Yellow green, as the secondary color, is settled which brings up the softness between red and green. It balances the strengh and makes each color vibrate properly.

09

Neutrals and Metallics Neutrals and Metallics own heavy proportion which creates the overall perception of peace and silence. The use of tints in neutrals, metallics and shades in yellow green also creates visual layers and tension to the image.

Texture Study

Texture, in culture Agriculture plays important role in human life and culture. Tea, rice, coffee beans for example are plants with significant meaning in certain cultures; people eat, trade and live with it.

16

In here, Green varies and owns various tints and shades through the process of maturity. It is amazing that complementary colors can also be seen as one of the steps through the ripening and it becomes an aid to create visual depth.

18

Texture, in person Green in our life stands out as a vivid color and vibrates by itself. It also represents various personalities and characters in each individual.

20

With texture, Green creates movement and brings up the power. And it is interesting to see the green color with tints and shades contains both calmness and vibration through the texture and material it owns.

Pattern Inspiration

Pattern, in nature Through the pattern research, I personally think that the green patterns can be separated into two major categories. The first group is all about nature, having flower, tree, leaf etc. as motifs. And the color use tends to include tints and shades or sometimes with neutrals in creating the perception of nature and environment.

25

Pattern, with personality Through the use of geometric shapes, it makes the pattern alive with energy and personality. Primary and analogous colors like yellow green, blue green are involved in creating visual depth which brings the rhythm and movement. As the pattern owns both cold and warm hues, it vibrates properly and also gives the itself highlight in certain point.

27

Pattern Design

Design motif Simple crossed line is designed to represent the blossom and life our nature gives us. It also symbolizes self identity, modern and personality.

32

34

Rotate, Overlap Dynamic movement and rhythm are created by rotating and overlapping the motif.

36

Pattern Design, analogous colors By using transparency and overlapping, mid-tone yellow green appears. Analogous color family maintains the harmony and balance properly which expresses the relaxing feeling and freshness.

39

Pattern Design, complementary colors The complementary color, as background, vibrates energetically with green and also maintains color harmony because of the use of yellow and yellow green. The pattern belongs to tropic and expresses its enthusiasm.

41

Pattern Design, neutrals and metallics Neutrals and metallics are settled and calm. By using tints and shades on the pattern, the colors vibrate and bring up the lively energy slightly. They work with the background and make themselves as a whole.

43

I say, “green is the invisible strength ties nature and human beings together. It is the relationship floats through nature, culture and individual.
