I’m Going to the

Fair

The county fair is outside. It has games, rides, and animals to see.

We might go to the fair at night. We might go to the fair during the day.

I might see animals.

Which animals do you see here?

I might go on rides.

I might play games.

There will be so many things to see!
Sometimes, I will have to wait for my turn.
I will stay with my group.
There might be a lot of people at the fair.
There might be a lot of smells at the fair. Are you calling us smelly?!

What else do you think you might smell?

There might be a lot of sounds at the fair.

What sounds do these animals make?

Sometimes, it might be, “too much.”
If the fair has too many people or too many smells or too many sounds, I can go to the Sensory Safe Space.
At the Sensory Safe Space, I can borrow headphones. I can say, “It’s too loud.”
At the Sensory Safe Space, I can take a deep breath. I can look. I can touch. I can be calm.
Sometimes, the weather will be hot.
When it is hot, I can drink water. I can rest in the shade.
I can have fun at the Fair!
