The bill aims to clarify the authority of local governments to regulate land use authority over oil and gas facilities, and to eliminate limitations on local govern-
ment’s ability to regulate the siting of such facilities. “City Council believes that passage of House Bill 16-1355 is a necessary step to ensure that the interest of local oil and gas facilities is balanced with the interest of all local property owners,” summarized Councilman Val Vigil during the March 28 meeting.
