Edwards decided to resign from his position after serving on the commission since 2014 and as vice chair in 2018. During his time on the commission, he helped form the adult lecture committee and supported various science programs.

Roth served on the commission for 11 years and held the position of chair since 2014. Roth was an integral part of the Honey Festival, the Parker Quest Committee and was part of creating new committees and events in the community.

In other business, the town council approved adding Agritainment as a use permitted by right to the AAgriculture Zone District of Parker’s Municipal Code. e town is working with Flat Acres Farm in support of their proposal to annex and zone the land into Parker for agritainment purposes.

Agritainment includes activities and events that allow for recreation, entertainment and tourism in conjunction with agricultural activities and support services, such as hayrides,corn mazes and dinners. e town council also recognized Pastor Cody Anderson and Rev. Laura Rainwater of Parker United Methodist Church and Pastors Rodney Hank and Ryan Jerome of Joy Lutheran Church for their services and commitment to the community.

“ e only thing that’s bad about a black cat is if you’re in a dark room, you don’t know where they are,” said Zarate. “ ey’re the most loving, wonderful cats that are out there so adopt a black cat, don’t ignore them.”

The Strive to Thrive Resource Fair will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 31 from 4-6 p.m. at the Calvary Chapel, 1100 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock.
