The new space will house oncology physician offices and comprehensive patient support services as well as a new grand entryway, redesigned landscaping and outdoor spaces for patients. “In addition to making care more convenient, we want to make our space healing,” Tobin said in his statement. “We understand that cancer treatment can be stress-

ful and frightening. We are taking every possible measure to create a peaceful, serene environment for our patients.” The hospital serves about 2,000 cancer patients each year, according to Parker, with Sarah Cannon providing services since 2012. Parker, in an email to Colorado Community Media, said the new space could allow the hospital to care for even more patients. “While some of the project involves reconfiguring existing services, we expect the streamlined approach to enrich the patient experience, enhance provider satisfaction, and ultimately expand the number of patients for which we can provide care,” she said.
