Saturnino (Tony) Ortega, Sr. 82 of Brighton, passed away on April 9, 2022 in Denver, surrounded by his family. Tony was born on April 6, 1940 in San Isidro Norte, New Mexico to Roberto and Maria Ursula (Benavidez) Ortega. When he was 8 years old, the family moved to Roggen and he attended Prospect Valley High School. e family then moved to Commerce City. He married Pauline Sailas and they resided in Brighton. eir children are Manuel, Saturnino, Jr. (Tunie), Jerome and Michelle. In 1990, Tony married Louise Martinez. eir son is Tony Daniel. Tony worked as a Brighton policeman and retired from the Denver Mint in 1998 after 31 years of service. After retiring from the mint, he became an entrepreneur in the piñon nut and green chili business. Tony loved his family. He loved to hunt, sh and watch the Colorado Rockies (even though at times, the Rockies made him very frustrated), loved watching wrestling and listening to the Oldies. Tony was a very humble and generous man with a very strong work ethic. He was always looking out for others and always made sure everyone had enough food to eat, especially Little Debbie snacks. Some of his favorite things to do were to visit with people, telling them jokes and stories and enjoying a good meal. He always said “As long as I have beans and green chili, I don’t need anything else.” Tony is preceded in death by his parents and brother Manuel. Tony is survived by his wife of 32 years, Louise; sister Jo Ann (Tony) Roman; nephew Roman Ortega; children: Manuel (Jeannie), Tunie (Rene), Jerome (Julie), Michelle (Scott) Chandler, Tony Daniel (Laura), Daniel (Ramona) Vigil, Patrick Vigil, Ruby (Lewis) Dunlap; Grandchildren: Nicole Montoya, Jerome Ortega, Jr. (Bubba) (Katie), Janelle (Joe) Howard, Maya Ortega, Ashlie (Gustavo) Curiel, Dario (Augusta) Ortega, Tori Rich, Tannah (Derek) Douglass, Mavrick (Grace) Chandler, Decker Chandler, Ella Chandler, Patrick Vigil, Jr., Raeleen (Marlin) Fox, Natalee Ortega, Tony Daniel Ortega, Jr., Laelonee Ramirez; Allen (Chantell) Hernandez, Andrew Gonzales, Christina Vigil, Alex Vigil, and Luisa Vigil; Great Grandchildren: Destiny (Allen Romero) Montoya, Faith Montoya, Joy Montoya, Isaiah Montoya, Aidan Howard, Darien Jackson, Bryce Jackson, Sophie Howard, AshlieMae Curiel, Christopher Gasca, AngelRae Gasca, Areli Salazar, Jeremy Salazar, Jr., Angelo Gonzales, Allen Hernandez, Jr., Anaya Vigil. Betty Hake, born on May 16, 1936, unexpectedly passed away on April 1, 2022 at the age of 85. A Memorial Service for Betty will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Tabor Funeral Home Chapel in
