o my fellow Roblans: It is hard to believe that it was just a few short months ago that I was sworn in as your mayor. With the untimely and unexpected passing of our dear friend and colleague Mayor Steve Martin, the City Council voted that I be appointed to carry on the duties and responsibilities of the mayor’s office from my position as Mayor Pro Tem on the 5th of September. I was indeed honored by Mayor Martin’s request before his passing, along with so many Roblans who asked me to step into the role. Even though I did not seek to be in this position, I would like to thank everyone that has given me the encouragement to lead us forward into the future. Your confidence strengthens me, and I promise I will do my best to make the coming years beneficial for all Paso Robles citizens. Looking back on 2023, your council and city staff have accomplished much despite the continuing work to recover from a global pandemic. I am proud to report that the city is using your tax dollars wisely to continue efforts that will improve our quality of life and preserve our unique history. We never forget that these dollars come from you. Out of the many things the city has worked on in 2023, here are some key areas of achievements, future goals and objectives that council gets asked about most often: Infrastructure development: • Anchored by Measure E-12
