MEETINGS
The Colonial PVA holds various types of meetings at their main office located at 700 Barksdale Road, Suite 2 in Newark, Delaware. Types of meetings include Board of Directors, General Membership, Executive Committee, and Advisory Committee. Meetings began being held virtually via zoom in March of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are now being held in a mixed format of in person and virtually via zoom for the convenience of our members.
The Colonial PVA started an Advisory Committee consisting of 10 people in 2019. These volunteers have upstanding leadership and commitment to serve on this committee. They have a positive relationship with the media and are influential people in the community. The President and Executive Director along with two other Colonial PVA members also sit on the committee. The committee meets monthly, and their roles and responsibilities are to review fundraising proposals and make recommendations to the Board of Directors on membership recruitment, marketing, activities for fundraising, and to analyze fundraising results.

In the past year, the Colonial PVA was represented at all training sessions and board meetings required by National PVA. Staff and Board members also participated in quarterly conference calls concerning sports and recreation programs. Members serve on state committees, boards, and commissions. All meetings have been held virtually since March of 2020. The Colonial PVA also has two Government Relations Directors one for Delaware and one in Maryland. Quarterly meetings are held with the SCI clinic personnel at local VAMCs to help ensure proper, quality medical treatment for our members in these facilities. Every other year, the Colonial PVA’s Board of Directors also receives training through DANA (Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement).
