Fokus Tatabahasa The following table shows four most very common tenses in Malay. You can see that to form the present continuous, future and past, you must take the basic verb form used in the simplre present and add a helping verb (‘kata bantu’). Try to familiarise yourself with these helping verbs. If you can recognise them they will help you work out which tense is being used. You will learn more about tenses in future units. Tense
