One thing each and every one of us have is life, and no matter how gruesome the experience or how exalted and glorified some moments are, we none the less from time to time are bound to question if life, as we know it, is really worth living.
This is neither an academic question, nor a philosophical exercise, even much less a polemic for exercising the mind, but a compelling question arising from hard, realistic, every–day living where none is exempted from the atrocious vagaries of living and everyone subject to its arbitrary termination.

The plain truth is that few enjoy a happy, enjoyable, fulfilled life to such an extent, that were they capable of returning to this earth after death would wish to do exactly the same thing all over again. On the contrary, many are glad when they come to the end of their life and can't wait to rid themselves of it;...show more content...
It is because you are blessed that life's unpleasantness, tragedies and miserable ironies do not throw you off–balanced and foment in your soul the desire to rail against AlmightyGod.
It is because you are blessed that you can meet every day with a smile, every misadventure with hope and every setback with the assurance that everything is going to be all right.
Remember that when you are in Christ, you are blessed and the venerable Apostle Paul put it like this, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ." (Ephesians 1:3)
You are blessed when you are battling bitter opposition and strive because Jesus Christ is alongside you and he will always see you through, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
You are blessed when you are struggling to pay the bills and make ends meet for Jesus tells you that your bread and water is sure and you can completely trust
Life is worth living. So many things happen in a person's life to make them smile, such as their family, friends or even other matters. The life of someone should never be taken away because life is a Paschal Mystery. For someone to end or give up their life, their opportunity to smile, or make someone else smile is so foolish. Sheen says on page 136 of 'Life is Worth living' "I tell you that if God in Heaven had not come down to this earth in the form of a man and given us the supreme example of sacrifice, then God Himself could do, namely, lay down their lives for a friend." For God to send his only begotten son to come and give up his ability to smile is a lot to take in, which is the reason it is the Paschal Mystery. In today's society, other people are not always the most important things in one's life. In 'Life Is Worth Living' Sheen writes "On the other side was the puzzle of a man. So I put the man together, and the world came out all right." (227). This represents how people today look at the world, many things take president in front of friends and family. Many people today go around and get anything and everything they could want or need due to having the money for it. While people over in Africa struggling to get their needs met day to day. With the characteristics of our society today, we can't take any pain. "Pain without love issuffering or hell. Suffering from love is the sacrifice. Love does not have the power to kill pain or to extinguish it, but it

Some philosophers doubt if life has a meaning. Some people do suicide by depression because negative events in their lives. They think it's the only solution to their problems. But most people are able to find lots of reason to value their lives, and in surveys most people report themselves as pretty happy. Meaning, in times of challenges, we must not give up. Always face the challenges. Be brave. Always remember that, after all the challenges that you will face, you will eventually surpass it. Be happy and strong to face the challenges in life. That has a big impact in making your life worthwhile. Life will be not worth living if there is no challenges. Challenges makes us stronger to also face the future challenges in life.

He will never give challenges if he thinks that we can't do it. Challenges are just thrill in our lives, without challenges in our life we will not be worth living for. And also you will experience the feeling when you finally past that challenges in your life. There are the times that people suffer depression on facing all the challenges on their life, they cause suicide. People do that because they can't handle properly the challenges that God gave to them. Every challenges has a purpose in our life. You'll experiencehappiness when you finally finish the challenges in your life. There are some people didn't want to face their challenges because they think that they can't handle it but no, God will never give challenges that we can't handle. We are just lazy to face all the challenges. For example, the Filipinos are known as being "lazy", but not all Filipinos. Filipinos are being lazy because they don't think that they can handle the problem or the challenges that they

n the immortal words of Socrates, "The unexamined life is not worth living." Socrates certainly felt strongly about his beliefs as he was willing to die for them and eventually did. But was it really worth losing his life over? If so, will examining life make you happier? Life is worth examining, although doing so will not always make people happy. The question then is why is it worth examining? It is simple; the purpose of human beings is to grow to be better, something that cannot be achieved if we do not examine life. Even though we do not know what our purpose in life is, as a whole it can be agreed that humans seek to improve themselves. Thinking back to human ancestral species the Homo erectus it is understood that they did not simply accept the world for what was in front of them. Rather, when opportunity for discovery was presented to them they set forth to it. For example, when early hominin species discovered fire they did not simply walk away and accept the fact that it was a part of nature and should therefore be left to be. Instead they questioned this aspect of nature and through further examination were able to tame fire, an element that has long been credited for the rise of human species. Certainly it was well worth it for human ancestors to have examined life. Although in that situation it brought happiness, this will not always be the case, allow me to elaborate. Would You Plug In?
What kind of life is worth living? Robert Nozick poses the question of whether it is worth to live life the way it was planned for you or by having the power to pick and choose the experiences you go through by plugging into the experience machine. Before deciding to go into the machine, a person must think about what kind of life is worth living. A life worth living is a life with as little suffering and hardship as possible, where a person can be completely free to chase their dreams. So many people look for a way to escape the pain that life brings and the experience machine offers a way out. There are two main reasons to plug into the experience machine; a person can escape the hardships of life and society's unrealistic expectations about how to live life. Humans go through many hardships over their lifetime. They experience love, loss, heartbreak, pain, work, happiness, sadness, and many more things. People have to struggle through school to work their whole lives until they die. These aspects of human life are used to mark where in the stages of life a person is. To many, these stages define life and what it stands for, but they are not necessary. A person doesn't have to go through loss to have a complete life. They don't have to struggle to make ends meet because that's what "life is supposed to be like." they can sidetrack these moments if desired. A person can have a life filled with happiness and no worry of having to get somewhere in life by plugging into the experience machine. The experience machine has the capability of getting rid of the hard things we go through. Instead of going through heartbreak, a person can bypass that by programming the machine to only let them experience love. Instead of working a grueling job that only pays minimum wage, a person can plug into the experience machine to a life where they don't have to work to survive. They can live a life full of happiness, instead of one filled with sadness and hardships. Society places unrealistic expectations of human life. People are expected to live their life a certain way and when they fall short of that, they are judged. One problem is that many never get close to the expectations,

In modern living, it seems so many of us are at odds with the question "Am I living my life, right?", with so many thoughts and opinions on our everyday lives, how can one not question their lifestyle. Our current society is living in one of the most opinionated times, with any and everyone's thoughts and feelings at the touch of our fingers. Life has become so complicated, and messy, and disorganized for so many; with journalists, internet celebrities, and memes persuading the public of some new fad that will truly lead to this overall peace or happiness. This modern way of living is exhausting. We as a people have become obsessed with these ideas of algorithms for happiness, the thought of "if I do this, this, this, and not this, I will truly be happy!". These "algorithms" seem to range from all organic diets, living off the grid, and simply minimalism, it is overwhelming. Society seems to have always looked for a "miracle pill" to fix these problems. While these many writers and thinkers have many differing opinions and thoughts on what will lead to well–being, most seem to agree that cleanliness or tidiness have a positive impact on one's well–being. Merriam–Webster defines well–being as "the state of being happy, healthy, or prosperous". As a country so obsessed with the idea of our personal rights, most would agree that our pursuit to happiness is probably the most significant of those rights. After reading through countless articles of well–being, and means of

There are many aspects in my life that make my life worth living. My cultural background, familial beliefs, spirituality, education and socioeconomic status play a role in my health and wellness. Without these aspects, it would be hard to focus on my quality of life. To me, there are many factors in my life that make me happy. When I reflect on my past and notice how far I have come, with my education, sports, and other aspects in my life where I have failed, I appreciate what it has taught me. I live my life for purpose and I want to be someone who makes a change in this world. My future is one thing that makes life worth living. I am truly interested to see where my life takes me and where I end up throughout my journey. I live one day at a time and I do not wish away the days, but I am excited to see what my future has to offer. Myfamily and friends are the people in my life that are worth living for. When something happens in my life it just does not happen to me it happens to my family also. If one of us goes through something tough, we all go through it together. This is what makes my family so great. Their unconditional love, positivity, and support is what makes me happy. My family and I have been on many vacations, traveled the country while I played softball, and took little trips to some of our favorite places. We did things that we all enjoy doing together, and that bringshappiness in my life. My friends are some of the best people I could ask for in my life. Whenever I need something or vice–versa we are always there for each other. I go on adventures, go out in town for a night, and have sleepovers where we just forget about the responsibilities we normally have and enjoy life. That is what makes me happy because I have friends who are willing to spend quality time with me and make memories. I played 16 years of softball and the love I have for the game is indescribable. This sport has taught me so much about my life and has brought me challenges to learn from. Without this sport, I would not be the person I am today. Many people laugh at that and do not realize the mental toughness it takes to play this sport, especially being a pitcher. Throughout my life, this game is

TITLE The simple question, What makes life worth living? Is a difficult question to answer. The feeling of love and a good stable are also very key points in stable good standing family, but when a family has forgiveness for one another it goes beyond any other understanding. The power of forgiveness in a family extends from as small as forgetting someone's birthday to a huge mistake such as forgiving a family member for crashing the family car. The three important factors all tie into the reason of why family make life worth living. The exhilarating feeling of not knowing the outcome of the future makes life more worth living. The outcome of the future is always a ominous mystery which is what makes it so interesting but at the same time we have a small control of what happens in the future, as the choices we make will surely impact the outcome of the future that is chosen. The simpleness of positive influxes in life can extend the thoughts of what we think that about in our future's that make life worth living. Although the standard american dream is sought to be the perfect future for every american due to the thoughts of having the nice house, the dream job and the perfect house, but we miss the simple fact of how every individual has a set future in mind that they want to make goals towards and complete. Ideas of diverse futures are what makes futures so exciting and different for example, one person wants to achieve the goal of getting their masters in criminal justice while

Lives worth Living
Survive and thrive. How we make our lives worth living is driven not just by our desire to be part of the human story expressed by the past but by our quest to create and connect our own stories to a seemingly unconstrained endless future. By reaching beyond our immediate circumstances and beyond realities that may not be of our own making, we can find a way to truly make our lives worth living and worth telling about. There are times in everyone's life when it feels as though we stand in quicksand, unable to break free and move beyond. In Hamlet the quicksand grabs a hold of all the vengeful characters and sadly drags them down. We see a similar myopic view of life in Grendel who can't seem to escape his hatred...show more content... The result is a lack of focus followed by inaction. He is unable to interpret events and he limits himself to the small immediate world of hatred, vengeance, and self destruction. Hamlet muses that the only way to dream is through death, "To die,to sleep–To sleep, perchance to dream–ay, there's the rub." (3.1.65–66) Hamlet tragically fails to see possibilities, fails to see that dreaming is possible in life, fails to take control of his environment. Instead he resigns himself to be a victim of events. Grendel falls into a similar trap. He wants to communicate with people but he remains an outsider looking in at the villagers. They only look at him as a monster and nothing else. It was at this moment where Grendel realized that "[he] understood that the world was nothing: a mechanical chaos of casual, brute enmity on which we stupidly impose our hopes and fears. [he] understood that, finally and absolutely, [he] alone exist[s]" and that "[he] creates the whole universe, blink by blink" (22). He can not be accepted by humans and he is destined to be a lonely outcast unable to escape his tragic fate. Anger and revenge are frequent themes in Hamlet who obsesses over his hatred of Claudius who intends to murder, "And now I'll do 't. And so he goes to heaven. And so am I revenged.–That would be scanned. A villain kills my father, and, for that, I, his sole son, do this same villain send To heaven." (3.3.75–80) Grendel

Value of life
The life given by god has a very special meaning a value in which people sometimes forget to thank or either regret. Many students/adults believe that they are going to be popular if they have money and a good job buy forget that people are influenced by those who have learned something. Also a lot fail to remember, to earn value you must earn it.In today's economy the government creates a value on the person by looking at the position they are held for. If you look at it from the society's point of view they believe people should be given value according to what they do and what position they are. From an individual's perspective they judge themselves on what they accomplish and achieve. The value of the individual would...show more content...
Each individual has their own perspective on how they want their life to be. As Steve Jobs mentioned in his inaugural speech " Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your inner voice"(89). The meaning of this quote is just do what you love and do not let anyone else tell you what to do. In life you just have to be your own self and believe that you can and will achieve. Your life will only be worth it if you actually accomplish something you wanted to do not what others want you to do. Several high school students tend to find a job while attending school and stay with it for the rest of their life. However, what they do not realize is that they are missing out on what they actually wanted to do in life not make money with the job they hate doing. The value of life has to be interpreted throughout high school as well as college because if you do not figure it out then you will end up doing something you will regret in the future. In many cases the society would make their decision based on what the person did and who the person was. For example, in the late 18th–19th century when there was slavery the people made their decision based on who had the most money not the one who worked. If you look at it today it is kind of similar because say a teacher gets injured and a professional athlete the value would be based on who
