For my project, I made a Professor teaching what is supposed to be a Graphic Design class to students because my client wanted to continue to major in Graphic Design, even though there was a chance the program was getting cut.
I made this mind map to help me get an idea of how I wanted the word “music” to feel when you look at it. I wanted to name all of the music genres I could think of to see if I could incorporate them into my project. I found that it was pretty challenging to get that to work, but I am happy with how the project turned out.
For this project, we had to make a poster with different variations of an animal of our choice. I chose to do this project with a lion, because my favorite movie for a long time was The Lion King. In this project, we worked with many different types of art pieces. We made some artwork out of magazine cutouts into a collage, some artist-inspired pieces, and some geometric and single line pieces as well. In the end, we put all of our images into InDesign and made a poster with them.
In the Iterative Illustration project, I learned that Lions were more tame than I had thought. They were sleeping in most of the pictures I saw of them.
The most challenging media in the Iterative Illustration project were the artist inspired ones because I was having trouble incorporating their works in my project. I had trouble grabbing from their work and trying to use their specific details that make their works unique and make it my own individual project.
I learned that in Photoshop, you can add multiple layers and hide them while you are working on other layers. That was very helpful and I will continue to use that moving forward. This was also my first project in InDesign, so I learned lots of new things in this project.
If I could continue with this project, I would probably make the collages look more like lions and just make the object overall look sharper. I would also look into adding a lion cub in one of the pieces.
Help them stay healthy and prevent illnesses such as measles and chicken pox.
Protect their future!
Talk to your doctor or stop into a clinic to ensure your children are up to date
For the PSA poster, I found it somewhat challenging to use only letters. It would have been pretty helpful to use a couple small images to make the poster look a little more interesting. But overall, I feel like the project turned out the way I was hoping despite only using letters.
I tried making my letters look heavy to emphasize the importance of vaccinations for children, which also allowed it to stand out more. I also used different sized fonts to get the main point across and add little facts with it.
I learned how to layout an even poster and make it grab people’s attention from far away with this project.
