Congratulations to the Hon. Chris Minns MP for being elected as the 47th Premier of New South Wales!
We take this opportunity once again to extend our hearty wishes to Chris and his team and we look forward to working closely together to advance our community!
We are privileged in the Canterbury Bankstown LGA to have two Federal Ministers, the Hon. Jason Clare MP, and the Hon. Tony Burke MP, as well as two State Ministers, the Hon Jihad Dib MP, and the Hon. Sophie Cotsis MP.

A recent survey conducted by CBCC Focus WIB revealed that the majority of respondents rated the Focus Group held on January 30, 2023, as successful and relevant. Out of the 17 participants, 15 completed the survey and provided feedback on the event, while two partially responded.
The Focus Group received an average rating of 4.33 for its success, and the conversation was deemed relevant to expectations, receiving an average rating of 4.40 on a scale of 1 to 5.
The survey also asked participants about their likelihood of attending the next CBCC WIB focus group, which received an average rating of 4.33. This suggests that many respondents are interested in attending future events.
In terms of demographics, the majority of respondents identified as female (94.12%), with a smaller percentage identifying as male (5.88%).
Most respondents were self-employed (64.71%), and the age groups represented were fairly evenly
distributed between 25-55 years old.
The survey also asked about ethnic background, with respondents indicating a range of backgrounds, including Middle Eastern (31.25%), UK/European (25%), and Oceania (18.75%).
Additionally, the survey included a question about the issues that respondents believed CBCC WIB should focus on this year. Mentoring and child care were the top priorities, with 73.33% and 60.00% of respondents, respectively, selecting these options. Education and mental health resources both received 40.00% of responses, while gender bias and job entry/re-entry received 33.33% and 60.00%, respectively.
Overall, the survey results indicate that the CBCC Focus WIB Focus Group held on January 30, 2023, was successful and relevant to participants' expectations, and there is interest in attending future events.
The Women's Committee met 06/04/2023 and is working on a prgram to help women with mentorship as 100% of respondants prioritise it. STAY TUNED!
