WHAT IS THE AUSTRALIAN DREAM?
The Australian Dream has long been a symbol of opportunity, prosperity, and the pursuit of a better life. Traditionally, it has been associated with homeownership—a house on a quarter-acre block, a backyard for family gatherings, and the security of owning a piece of this great land. But today, the Australian Dream is evolving.
It is no longer just about owning a home; it is about achieving a fulfilling life. It is the dream of financial stability, a thriving career, and the freedom to pursue aspirations. It is about raising a family in a safe, supportive community, accessing world-class education and healthcare, and having the freedom to balance work, leisure, and cultural diversity.
For many, the Australian Dream is about entrepreneurship and innovation—building a business and creating opportunities for others. For others, it is about giving back to society, making a difference in the lives of those in need, and fostering belonging.
At its core, the Australian Dream is about opportunity. It is the belief that, regardless of background, anyone can succeed with hard work, determination, and the right support. It is about fairness, equality, and the chance to build a future that reflects one’s aspirations.
The Canterbury Bankstown Chamber of Commerce (CBCC) is committed to supporting this evolving Australian Dream. We champion local businesses, foster innovation, and advocate for economic and social growth in our community. By empowering individuals and businesses, we help turn dreams into reality—creating a prosperous and inclusive future for all. Together, we are shaping a modern Australian Dream, built on opportunity, diversity, and shared success.

✨ A Night of Elegance, Inspiration & Empowerment ✨
With 500 incredible guests in attendance, the Canterbury Bankstown Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrated International Women’s Day in true style—a night of elegance, inspiration, and recognition.
Dressed to impress, our guests and speakers helped shine a light on the remarkable contributions of women in our community and beyond.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing sponsors and supporters your generosity and commitment made this unforgettable evening possible. Your support empowers us to continue advocating for progress, equality, and opportunities for all.
A big thank you to Tracy Minett for moderating a fantastic panel. Our key takeaways are:
Don’t be intimidated by other people, own your space, or reclaim it. Stop the negative perception that you can’t own a home in Sydney because you can - you just have to start. All women should have a goal of home ownership. Lude comments are unacceptable, and no one should tolerate it. Support one another and say no to disrespect. operating in male-dominated industries can be lonely. Women supporting women can build confidence, but don’t forget all the good men who have helped women open doors.
Three awesome players attended with Lauren, reminding us that we do what we love today. So, 4th July 2025 is the first game for the Bulldogs women’s team vs. the Knights! Get out there and support them.
