Overwatch 2 “Hermes Lucio”
In Collaboration with Majorwavezz and Blizzard Entertainment, this project features Hermes Lucio as a playable hero in the videogame Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus Mode and is described as a speed-based support hero with the ability to heal and buff allies while also dealing damage to enemies. His abilities include a dash that allows him to quickly move around the map.
This shoe is not just an homage to the hero’s helmet and boots; it embodies the essence of his entire outfit. From the vibrant color palette to the futuristic design elements, this shoe brings Lucio’s iconic look to life in a contemporary and fashionable way.
With innovation and convenience in mind, the Overwatch Hermes Lucio Shoe features a concealed battery pack and mini speaker discreetly placed within the sole. This thoughtful design ensures seamless integration and easy access for charging. The battery pack powers the enchanting EL wire lights, allowing you to radiate the rhythm of light wherever you go.
“Betr” is a micro-betting company that was co-founded by Jake Paul and launched in late 2020. The company aims to offer a new form of betting for sports fans by allowing users to place small bets on specific moments during games, The company has partnered with a number of high-profile social media stars, including Jake Paul himself, to promote the platform users to place bets.
The betr shoe boasts an innovative elastic wrap-around swoosh, adding both functionality and aesthetic appeal to its design. This distinctive feature serves as a versatile and dynamic element, embracing the foot securely and providing a comfortable fit that adapts to your movement. Crafted with premium materials, the elastic swoosh showcases impeccable craftsmanship, complementing the overall elegance of the shoe.
At the heart of the betr shoe lies a 3D printed light-up swoosh that takes sneaker branding to a whole new level. Using state-of-the-art additive manufacturing technology, the swoosh is meticulously crafted with intricate details that enhance its unique character. But that’s not all; embedded within the swoosh are discreet LED lights that come alive with a captivating glow when activated. Whether you’re exploring the urban landscape or dancing under the stars, your every step will leave a trail of luminous elegance.
Dream House
The foundation of this project lies in deconstruction. Carefully disassembled a shoe, paying meticulous attention to every detail. This process allowed us to understand the shoe’s structural elements and explore creative possibilities. The shoe’s original form was beautifully utilized as a starting point, keeping its elegance intact while envisioning it as the core framework for the Barbie Dream House.
Pink, the epitome of Barbie’s world, played a central role in this design. Embracing the use of multiple shades of pink to evoke a sense of enchantment and sophistication. From soft blush tones to vibrant fuchsia hues, every shade blended harmoniously, creating an atmosphere that celebrates femininity and timeless charm.
In this innovative design, a specially designed NESQUIK powder container is integrated right into the Air Jordan 4’s sleek silhouette. The container is strategically placed on the shoe’s wing, allowing sneaker enthusiasts to carry NESQUIK powder wherever they go. With this portable solution, NESQUIK on the go is just a step away! The container is not only convenient but also adds a touch of playful charm to the shoe’s overall aesthetic.
Off-White Trilogy
The Off-White Trilogy was designed to combine past works from the most prominent Nike shoe designers in the industry, into a singular and cohesive design. Using an all white Air Force 1 designed by Bruce Kilgore as the base allows for boundless freedom to create. Using the swoosh design from the Off-White Jordan 1, designed by Virgil Abloh, gives the design an authentic look. Finally, using the Off-White SB Dunk low lace pattern, originally designed by Peter Moore then reconstructed by Virgil Abloh, adds the final touches. The Off-White Trilogy gets its name by combining 3 silhouettes into 1.
The Off-White Trilogy was designed to use as many fabrication techniques and experimentation as possible. Using methods and materials such as painting, sewing, fabric printing, drilling eyelet holes for the Off-White laces and LED lights, and using outsourced snake pattern material to represent Kobe Bryant’s nickname “Black Mamba”. Also, installing 5 LED lights near the heel on each shoe which represents the 5 championships Kobe Bryant won in his career. The iconic Off-White text is written on the inside panel pertaining to the year he was drafted to Los Angeles.
Buzz Lightyear Air Mag
The concept for this design was to make it something that Buzz Lightyear would actually wear with his space suit. The Buzz Lightyear Air Mag is covered in a light gray colored cloth which represents the main color of his space suit. The swoosh, sock liner, and back tab are coated with a metallic purple to play off the metal look. The three lights on the back tab take inspiration from the original Air
Mag design, but are adapted to fit the Buzz Lightyear lights he has on his space ranger suit. The light blue sole also lights up. The laces are wrapped in a red and white diagonal striped strap to hold everything together. The mid sole is painted a lime green to tie in his space suit color and paint speckled with a darker green to add contrast. The space ranger logo is placed on the outside ankle.
Jolly Rancher Pack
The Jolly Rancher pack was inspired by the famous original hard candy Jolly Rancher. This pack introduces four flavors such as Cherry, Blue Raspberry, Sour Apple, and Grape. The pack is constructed on the classic Jordan 1 silhouette. This allows for orderly color blocking and the use of different samples of leather.
The pack is constructed using shiny patent leather on the front and heel panels. This allows for continuity throughout the shoe. Patent leather is used to match and represent the gloss of the Jolly Rancher candy pieces. The swoosh, collar, and toe box are navy blue with a gold border. These colors were drawn directly from
the Jolly Rancher logo. The out sole is an icy sole composed of a gradient of each of the original colors in the Jolly Rancher candy bag. The gradient stretches throughout the design from the toe to heal. This is consistent throughout every shoe in the pack, connecting each shoe back to one another by having an identical piece.
Objective: This studio investigates the relationship between architecture’s various modes of performance. These include material assemblies, structural design, environmental systems, and less technical issues such as compositional systems and aesthetics.
Program: Mixed-use/Housing/Library
Site Location: Pilsen, Chicago, IL
Size: 90,000 SF
Faculty: Kent State University, 4th Year IDS
This project focuses on the interaction of spaces within the site, as well as what exists around the site itself. These interaction moments are based on how the outside community members of Pilsen will feel and interact with the site, due to Pilsen having a intensely strong community relationship, as well as the interior programmable spaces interacting with each other between the library and residential portion. Cornered on the northwest point of the site is a busy intersection at W 18th St and S Loomis St, this point of interaction is what will draw
in most of the site’s users. To interact with this intersection, the library portion of the program is placed along the north side of the site to give the community members an easy understanding of where and what the library is, and how to interact with the space. The three floors of the library are pushed and pulled to create visible separations between the floors. The perforated copper facade on the library is placed on the first and third floor, with a large curtain wall placed on the second floor to create a floating interaction between the three floors.
