Domestic Violence CoHousing

Topeka, Kansas | Fall 2021 | 4 Month Project

The Topeka Domestic Violence CoHousing Project was a project completed in the fall semester of my fourth year at Kansas State. Most architecture relating to survivors of domestic violence is focused on shelters and short term stays. We were given the challenge of creating a safe environment to facilitate the healing of the women who would stay here. The driving idea behind the project is protection from harm while maintaining openness and healing through a connection to nature and each other.
