Study Abroad Trip for Event Management to Europe

Drs. Jennifer Edwards and Karley Goen are leading a Study Abroad program this summer focused on event management in Scotland and England The program will run from May 22 to May 31, 2023 and will be the first to be offered in the department since Summer 2019. The aim is to provide an in-depth understanding of two of the UK's cultural and political capitals The students will explore breathtaking Edinburgh built atop seven extinct volcanoes to get a real sense of Scottish customs and tradition. In London, they will experience iconic cultural sights, like Buckingham Palace, that are quintessentially English as well as a contemporary art, fashion and food scene that is delightfully multicultural. According to Dr. Goen, “We will be working a wedding, a corporate event and a retreat within the countries we are traveling to We look forward to bringing back these applied learning experiences to Tarleton and the community in which we serve." Lexi Gorrell (Spring ‘23), who will be attending the trip, says, “I am looking forward to embarking on a ten day trip where we will have a jam packed itinerary full of hands-on learning

During this time we will be leaving imprints and gaining knowledge in the countries we visit”.
