TFS 104th Annual Meeting
Part conference, part music concert, and a whole lot of fun, planning is underway for Texas Folklore Society’s 104th Annual Meeting, which will be held in Waco on April 6–8, 2023. Rich with history and full of traditions, there's a lot to love about Waco; staff, board members, and other volunteers are working to ensure that the Society’s first in-person meeting since 2019 is one for the books
The annual event includes presentation of papers some are fascinating, some are astounding, some are fun, and some are side-splittingly-talk-about-it-for-years hilarious Attendees also have the opportunity to tour a local attraction, attend the President’s Reception, and participate in nighttime hootenanny.
“Texas Folklore Society hootenannies is where I learned the value of the songs that I heard growing up," says longtime TFS member and recent hootenanny leader Lee Haile said "The hoot was the one thing that hooked me in the beginning and kept me coming back year after year when I was very young in this organization Nothing unites folks like the music they share, and that alone is reason enough to try to keep these old songs going." TFS members are invited and encouraged to attended the event.
