Texas Center for Community Journalism Digital News Media Workshop

During November 16-18th, the Texas Center for Community Journalism hosted a digital news workshop to help community newspapers develop their digital gameplan. Nearly a dozen presenters shared their perspectives on not only the threat of social media news to community newspapers but learned the benefit of using growing platforms like Instagram and TikTok to improve their businesses Twenty-two participants from community papers across the state attended the workshop to better understand how to develop, implement, and effectively use social media strategies for their community newspapers Some outlets included the Shiner Gazette, Wise County Messenger, and Burleson County Tribune The Texas Center for Community Journalism is funded by the Texas Press Association through the Texas Newspaper Foundation.
