A man sentenced for 15 years imprisonment

On Tuesday October 18, A 38 year old man, Victor Pietersen,wassentencedto15 years imprisonment by the Colesberg Regional Court for themurderofJimBooysen,21, whomhebecameembroiledin an argument with over a dead sheep. National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane said on Wednesday that the incident tookplaceonJuly24onafarm near Colesberg “It is alleged that Booysen’s girlfriend intervened during the argument and managed to separate them. The two men approached the owner of the farm for permission to eat the meat, who later instructed them to share it equally The accused (Pietersen) later

suggestedthattheymustshare with a third party, also residing on the farm, but the deceased refused,” said Senokoatsane He added that later that day, the two argued in front of Pietersen’s house andPietersenproducedaknife and stabbed Booysen in the chest. “The deceased collapsed and died on the scene of the crime. The accused informed the farm owner and requested him to call an ambulance The policewerecalledtothescene andtheaccusedwasarrested” “The prosecutor advised the courtthattheaccusedfailedto prove any substantial or compelling circumstances for the court to deviate from the prescribed minimum sentence of15yearsimprisonment”

Ingredients

30 ml (2 Tbsp) sunflower oil

1 onion, peeled and finely chopped

1 green pepper, finely chopped 3 carrots, peeled and grated

30 ml (2 Tbsp) Robertsons

Braai & Grill Spicy BBQ

45 ml (3 Tbsp) Knorr Chakalaka Soup

125 ml (½ cup) water

700 g Boerewors6 bread rollsbutter (optional)

100 g feta cheese, crumbled

Heattheoilinasaucepanandfrytheonionsandgreen peppersuntilsoftAddthegratedcarrotsandsautéfora further 10 minutes, or until softened Add the Robertsons Braai & Grill Spicy BBQ and stir for 1 minute.In a small bowl, make a smooth mixture of the Knorr Chakalaka Soup and water, and add this to the saucepan. Stir well and simmer over a medium low heat for 15 20 minutes, or until the chakalaka reaches the desired consistencyBraai the boerewors over low to medium coals until cooked through, taking care not toburnitontheoutside Removefromthegridandcut into portionsSlice the rolls lengthways, and butter them (optional).
