COKESBURY KIDS BIG FAITH
BIG FAITH IDEA
MONTHLY THEMES AND FAITH FOCUS
FAITH RESPONSE
Grow faith in kids that’s as big as their imaginations!
Ready to think outside the box when it comes to children’s faith helps children discover, develop, and practice their faith in God in a trusted community through timeless Bible stories, hands-on activities, and child-friendly themes. Big Faith experiences that are tangible, applicable, and meaningful to children’s everyday lives. Cokesbury.
Each year of Big Faith is designed around four Big Faith Ideas: Faith in God (each fall), Faith in Community (each winter), Faith in Jesus (each spring), and Faith in Action (each summer). Children will explore the Big Faith Idea each quarter through each month’s faith focus and theme.
Within each session, children will be invited to respond to what they have learned to make faith personal to them.
Each quarter of Big Faith will be divided into monthly units with a fun, child-friendly theme. Within each theme, children will connect to the Bible stories in a creative way, as well as learn that month’s faith focus and a Bible memory verse.

CLASS FORMAT
Continue the faith formation tradition that you know, love, and trust from Cokesbury Kids. Each session of Big Faith invites children to explore their faith in the context of their everyday lives. Within each session, children will be introduced to a faith concept; explore a Bible story together through storytelling and video; participate in age-appropriate, hands-on activities; and will reflect on and share what they have learned with one another.
SESSION INFO
Each session begins with a time for children to begin to explore and connect with the Bible story and interact with it in several ways. Following the sharing of the Bible story, children can have discussions, ask questions, and reflect. The age-appropriate activities in each session help children deepen their understanding of the Bible story through exploration and play, using various learning styles. Each week kids will be invited to explore the Big Faith Idea for the quarter and share what they have learned about their faith within the context of their trusted community.
ADJUSTABLE TO FIT YOUR NEEDS
The lesson plans are flexible. Leaders can choose activities that best fit the needs of their class and customize the lesson plans. This flexibility also means Big Faith works well with churches of any size.

MISSION POSSIBLE KIDS
Are you ready to inspire your kids to become their best selves, to do great things, to show them how to put their faith in action? Then get ready for Mission Possible Kids! It's exciting. IT'S REAL! Mission Possible Kids empowers kids to become agents of change—in their own lives and the lives of others. It helps grow kids spiritually by doing God’s work. Kids (Agents) accomplish ”hands-on” TOP SECRET missions such as: stocking food banks, making gifts for kids in hospitals and shelters, helping nursing home residents, helping at animal shelters, and much more. MPK has helped over 5 million people worldwide!
In the “doing” of God's work—the way kids learn best—your Agents (kids) learn to develop compassion, self-confidence and self-esteem, respect for self and others, a strong work ethic, strong problemsolving skills, an expanded worldview leadersgip skills, a porsitive outlook, redilience, and a bond to their commumity and beyond. MPK also helps get parents and the rest of your church involved; attracts new families to your church as your kids bring friends; brings resources to people in your community who desperately need it, all coming from the children of your church.
TOP SECRET Missions – Get all the mission plans you need, all designed to show elementary-aged kids how they can become “agents of change.” Each Mission Possible Kids Mission includes:
• Director’s Plan — The project overview, Bible verse, supply list, and all the behind-the-scenes preparation steps to get everything ready to go. The last step shows you how to estimate the number of lives touched to help your kids understand their impact.
• Agent Handler’s Plan — The week-by-week breakdown that shows leaders how to teach the lesson and work the mission. If you’re planning to meet less often, simply drop out some of the extra activities.
•Templates — Easy-to-print worksheets, gift tags, cards, and game sheets.
• Photos — Sample photos to show the kids the people (or animals) your project may help. Just drop them in PowerPoint and you’re good to go.

We’re on a mission! A Cokesbury Exclusive!
• An innovative way for kids to make a huge impact in their community and their world
• 4-week missions or choose one per month; Digital Bundles for Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3 with more coming soon!
• Enough missions for a school year but can be planned to fit the church’s schedule
• For grades K–6
Planning Your Mission Calendar – Kick off the first hour-long meeting of each year with “Agent Training” and end the year with a party to celebrate all that agents have done in God’s service. Many groups opt for a food bank collection every Thanksgiving as well. Then, fill in other months with any of the other great MPK missions.
Supplies – Gather project supplies on your own. All projects require basic school supplies that you likely already have in children’s ministry, plus additional simple, inexpensive craft or office supply items. Reduce your supply budget by setting out a collection box for inexpensive items or donations from sponsors.
Mission Tracker – A big part of why Mission Possible Kids works is over time kids begin to understand that working together they can make a HUGE impact in lives touched. The Mission Tracker helps you do that. It can take any form you like, as long as it enables agents to see their progress in a visual way. Unveil last month’s progress at the first meeting of each new month.
Inside Your Launch Kit – Here is everything else you need to run an action-packed MPK program: logos and forms (including the MPK logo in .jpg and .eps); Promotion Star Chart to track agent promotions (including a step-by-step guide for its use, Promotion Certificates, and rank info); Spy Games (team-building activities to use all year long); and MPK Coloring Pages (Agents can choose their favorite Spy5 alter-ego).
All Systems Go! – Your kids are going to have a blast in MPK. But more importantly, you are instilling in them selflessness, compassion, and an understanding of what it truly means to be called to serve. You are forever changing their lives so that they can change others.

Living in Faith Together

LIFT (LIVING IN FAITH TOGETHER)
What will your church offer for spiritual formation this year? This could be the time to try an intergenerational approach! LIFT brings generations together around a table for four activities: share food (Breaking Bread Together), enjoy fellowship (Playing Together), worship (Praying Together), and study the Bible (Studying God’s Word Together). When generations mutually invest in one another, Christ-centered relationships grow and intergenerational ministry is born. You can invite two or more generations to learn in small groups around tables where 1–2 key leaders prepare and guide sessions.
There is no set order for using LIFT resources. Churches choose themes based on the desired topic and/or Scripture. Sessions within themes are not cumulative, so churches choose the sessions they desire within each theme.
LIFT can be used in Sunday school, special gatherings, offsite events, midweek, summer, Advent, Lent, dinner time, at home, and VBS. GenOn Ministries.
Sessions include stepby-step instructions for preparing and leading each of the four activities. Sessions are led by one or two facilitators and take 45–60 minutes depending on the activities chosen.
LIFT Bundles (Electronic Downloads) are available in 12 or 6 sessions.
• Intergenerational ministry brings together 2 or more generations to nurture Christ-centered community • Can be used in small or large churches, with or without children •6- and 12-session topical and seasonal bundles •Affordable
BE BOLD: Fearless Preteen Curriculum
Virtual compatible!
• Grades 4–6
•6 quarter scope and sequence
•30–60 minutes
• Each week tackles a different question that reflects what preteens want to know per quarter or SESSIONS 4
13
Developmentally, your preteens are on the edge physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. They’re deciding what they believe. They have faith questions that can’t be answered with simple fill-in-the-blank answers. We can’t ignore their questions! The questions won’t go away. But the kids might, if they are not taken seriously.
This curriculum gives your preteens exactly what they need—validation of their faith questions, and a place to connect as they explore those questions together. And we’ll guide you every step of the way as you become their conversation guide...and fellow explorer. Be Bold helps teachers facilitate meaningful discussion and Bible exploration. With 13 sessions per quarter, every lesson includes Scripture to explore, meaningful games that get to the point of the lesson, exploration of the question of the week, a service activity tied to what they discussed, and prayer time. Group Publishing.
The Leader Guide includes “preteen pointers” throughout the lesson to help you understand your students better. Each of the 13 lessons is carefully designed to reach kids through a single Bible point and related games and activities that will get kids talking and thinking. As a Be Bold leader, you’ll also get access to tons of online support and helpful tools: teacher resources (including quick “now what?” teacher-tip videos); admission to an exclusive Facebook community where you can ask peers for advice; a feedback loop so for staying in touch about our class’ discussions; and prayer support.
Student Packs include: a Bold Action Student Workbook with crafts, Mystery Mission Cards to do at home that reinforce the week’s Bible truth, and Mystery Mission Stickers. An annual classroom poster stating the Class Values is also available and suggested, as you and your kids will recite these values each week. The Holiday Packs contain 4 weeks of Christmas lessons, 4 Weeks of Easter lessons, engaging student materials, Mystery Missions, and Mystery Mission Stickers. The Bible Truths Poster Set provides reminders of biblical truths that will help to guide conversations.

FATHOM: A DEEP DIVE INTO THE STORY OF GOD
Fathom is a Bible study for teens with lessons that are a blend of narrative and traditional theological approaches to understanding the Bible story. Each lesson will focus on one passage that will launch into the larger context of God’s story being studied, and how that story is meant to be theirs. Fathom is suitable for groups with middle schoolers, high schoolers, and any combination of the two. But unlike many other resources, it acknowledges the differences between older and younger youth and the way they learn. It provides activities specific to each age group, as well as activities for mixed groups in which older youth have leadership opportunities. Fathom gives leaders the option to let youth take ownership of their learning through teaching and leading alongside adults. Fathom creates space and tension for teens to wrestle with how to interpret and experience the Bible. Abingdon Press.

COLABORATE
Innovative, hands-on confirmation curriculum
• Leverage one of two models to deepen youth knowledge and experience with the Bible, including Colaborate: Bible Study and Colaborate: Confirmation (Methodist, Lutheran, or Presbyterian)
Colaborate was created by theologians, practitioners, and artists who know biblical history, biblical exegesis, and young people. It features hands-on investigative learning that leads to deep engagement with the Bible, faith, and what it means to be a Christian. It will change the way students think about faith and the Bible. Rather than faith being handed over as an established set of facts to be learned and memorized, Colaborate is presented as a path of growth and discovery. That’s an experience that will stay with them long after they leave your class. Sparkhouse.
The series contains four parts: a comprehensive Bible study and three confirmation studies. In the Bible study, students engage in compelling conversation about God and what it means to follow Jesus as they dig into the Bible. In the Methodist confirmation study, students discover the rich history of the Methodist doctrine, traditions, and beliefs and their relevance to their lives. The Lutheran confirmation study encourages students to bring their questions and curiosity about Lutheran doctrine and history. The Presbyterian confirmation study pulls students into the content to drive engagement with the Bible, Presbyterian doctrine, and each other.
