III. Description of the Project

The company prepared a 2 storey residential house project, because the beneficiary proposes that the project should involve the creation of a two-storey residence with a roof that is covered and an open parking place or garage in the basement. According to the beneficiary they want us to surprise them on the concept or design of their house using affordable supplies and materials.

The company decided to make use of available softwares to make this project such as STAAD, SKETCH UP, REVIT & STAAD. Each member of the company made an individual scheme of the project for the beneficiary to choose on.

A. Design Criteria

AutoCad, Rivet and STAAD was used to show the plans( such as 3D Design model, architectural, structural, and plumbing) that will be presented to the beneficiary based on his preference.

The Following structural codes and specifications shall be used in the structural anaylsis and design of the two(2) storey residential structure.

PROJECT: Two-Storey Residencial House

LOCATION: Lot 8 Blk 2 Villa concepcion, Brgy.

Bagong Pook, Pila Laguna

I. THE PROJECT SITE

The location of the construction site is at Lot 8 Blk 2 Villa Concepcion, Brgy. Bagong Pook, Pila Laguna.

A. Site Clearing

The site shall be cleared of any debris unnecessary for the construction work and shall be properly fenced.

B. Site Excavation and Backfilling

All excavation shall be properly reinforced and shored to avoid soil cave-ins and shall be as shown as per plans. Backfilling shall be as per specified material and level as per plans.

II. MATERIALS SPECIFICATIONS

A. Backfilling Materials

Gravel or Soil Material shall be free of inorganic material, trash, masonry, rubble, stones with diameter greater than 6”, and any foreign material. Soil excavated from the site shall be prioritized to be used as backfill material.

B. Masonry Works (TxHxW)

Interior walls – 4”x8”x16” Concrete hollow blocks

Exterior walls – 6”x8”x16” Concrete hollow blocks

C. Concrete Works

Only one type of Portland cement shall be used. Fine aggregates shall consist of natural sand or manufactured sand. Coarse aggregates shall be only gravel. C25 Concrete grade mix shall be used on all structural members, 1:1:2 (cement : fine aggregates : coarse aggregates). Three concrete samples shall be taken and tested for 28th day concrete strength. The concrete shall then be cured for 7 days or as per manufacturer’s recommendation.

D. Steel Reinforcement Works

Reinforcement bars shall be free from rust, dirt, oil, grease, or any foreign material that may affect the material strength and capacity to bond with concrete. Bends shall be accurately bent as per plan and no damage shall be inflicted on the materials. Reinforcement bar strength shall be as stated below.
