小さなかわいい街・セント・ジョン
宿泊したのはChipman Hill Suites。泊まる予定だった部屋の水道が故障していたため、 スウィート ルームにアップグレイドしてもらえました。広い部屋と高い天井、キッチンもフル装備。 ジャグジー バスが付いていたので、旅の疲れもすっかり取れました。

Saint-Jean, une jolie petite ville Comme la ville n’est pas bien grande, on peut en faire le tour à pieds pour profiter d’un des plus vieux marchés d’Amérique du Nord ainsi que de jolis magasins le long des rues. Je vous recommande tout particulièrement le Market Square Boardwalk. Restaurants comme bars s’y succèdent et, une fois le coup d’envoi du festival donné, il est possible d’assister aux concerts tout en consommant depuis les sièges des terrasses. Je me suis attablée au Grannan’s Seafood Restaurant pour y goûter leur homard et fish’n’chips. Ils n’auraient pût être meilleurs que consommés à cette terrasse, accompagnés d’une bière locale. J’ai ensuite passé la nuit au Chipman Hill Suites. Du fait d’un problème de plomberie dans la chambre que j’avais réservée, on m’a surclassée dans une suite comprenant une grande chambre au plafond haut et une cuisine tout équipée. Le bain-jacuzzi m’a permis d’oublier la fatigue du voyage.

Saint John:
A small, cute city in New Brunswick Saint John, New Brunswick is a small city, one that can be explored entirely on foot. It is home to one of the oldest farmer’s markets in North America and offers visitors the chance to explore many cute shops along its streets. For newcomers, I recommend checking out Market Square Boardwalk, with its many restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a meal and live music outdoors whenever a festival is held. I tried the lobster and fish & chips at Grannan's Seafood Restaurant while I was there, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had of enjoying seafood and local beer on a terrace. During our trip we stayed at Chipman Hill Suites, and since the water supply in the room we had reserved was broken, we were happily upgraded to a suite room - a big room with high ceilings and a fully-equipped kitchen. The Jacuzzi helped us completely recover from the weariness of travel.

Au point de rencontre entre le courant de la rivière et l’impressionnante marée de la baie se crée un tourbillon qui inverse pour un temps le courant. Je vous recommande d’aller observer le phénomène à marée basse. Comme l’horaire change à chaque jour, il est conseillé de le confirmer ainsi que le point d’observation auprès du centre d’information touristique.
Here you can witness the backwards flow of the river and its big whirlpools caused by the collision of the river flow and high tide. I recommend seeing the whirling waves at low tide. Since the time of low tide changes every day, it would be a good idea to confirm the schedule and the lookout points at the information centre before you visit.

Gigantesques, les rochers d’Hopewell ne sont visibles qu’à marée basse. Ils sont alors complètement découverts et il est possible de les explorer à pied, à même le plancher marin. Les arbres qui poussent au sommet leur ont également valu leur surnom de « pots de fleurs ».
＊ Hopewell Rocks of the Bay of Fundy The Bay Fundy is located about two hours by car from Saint John. This spot is home to the world’s highest tides, with a difference of about 14 meters between high and low tides. It is also worth seeing for the Hopewell Rocks, a huge rock formation visible only at low tide. You’ll even get the chance to walk the ocean’s floor when the tide is at its lowest. When you finally see the trees on top of the famous rocks, you’ll understand why they are known as the “Flower pot.”

Cette semaine, nous allons parler d’une exceptionnelle artiste et compositrice japonaise, Youko Kanno. Kanno est née en 1964 dans la préfecture de Miyagi au Japon.

今回は、 日本の優れた芸術家/作曲家の菅野よう子さんについてお話します。菅野 さんは1964年に宮城県で生まれました。 彼女はピアノを演奏するだけでなく、1986年から作曲も始めました。今まで、多く のアニメやビデオゲームの曲を作曲しました。例えば、 「カウボーイビバップ」や「∀ （ターンエー）ガンダム」の音楽を担当し、印象的なサウンドトラックを作りまし た。 また、2009年にはワルシャワ国立フィルハーモニー管弦楽団を指揮しました。 菅野さんはライブコンサートもしています。作曲家でもあり、歌手でもあります。 ス テージで歌う時には、Gabriela Robin（ガプリエラ・ロビン)という名前を使ってい て、2009年のコンサートの時はじめて聴衆の前でRobinとして「Moon」歌いまし た。 また、 ジャズバンド 「シートベルツ」 でキーボードを演奏しています。 日本で、菅野さんの才能は高く評価されています。多くの人気アニメの音楽を担当 したので、日本だけでなく中国、韓国、アメリカでも知名度が上がりました。 「マク ロス」の曲は彼女の傑作です。 アニメの曲だけでなく、有名な映画やテレビ、CM音 楽をたくさん作っています。 また、 日本の現代電子音楽なども作曲しています。 天才的な人ですね! 皆さん、時間があったら、菅野の音楽を聞いてみてください。
Kanno fait aussi des concerts ‘live.’ Elle est compositrice en plus d’être chanteuse. Quand elle chante en concert, elle utilise un nom différent: Gabriella Robin. C’est lors d’un concert en 2009, qu’elle utilise son nom de scène devant une audience pour la première fois. À ce concert, Robin a chanté « Moon ». De plus, Kanno joue le clavier et chante dans un groupe appelé « Seatbelts ». Au Japon, Kanno est plutôt connue. Elle a une très bonne réputation. Elle a composé plusieurs chansons pour des anime populaires, et est connue non seulement au Japon, mais aussi en Chine, en Corée et aux États-Unis. Son chef-d’œuvre est « Macross ». En plus de composer pour des anime, elle a aussi composé les chansons de plusieurs films fameux, émissions de télévision et publicités. Elle compose en plus de la musique électronique moderne japonais. Elle est une personne vraiment talentueuse! Si vous avez le temps, nous recommandons de l’écouter.

This week, we will be talking about the outstanding Japanese artist and composer, Youko Kanno. Kanno was born in 1964 in Japan’s Miyagi prefecture. Kanno plays piano, as well as composing for piano and orchestra. She first started composing in 1986. Since then, she has composed many songs for anime and video games. For example, she composed Cowboy Bebop and Turn ∀ Gundam’s impressive soundtracks. In 2009, she also conducted the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. Kanno also does live concerts. She is a composer, as well as a singer. When she sings on stage, she uses a different name. She calls herself Gabriella Robin. At a 2009 concert, she first used her stage name in front of an audience. At that concert, Robin sang “Moon.” In addition, Kanno plays the keyboard and sings in a jazz band called Seatbelts.

In Japan, Kanno is quite famous. Her reputation is very good. She has composed songs for many popular anime, and is not only famous in Japan, but also in China, Korea, and America. Her best work is “Macross.” Not only has she composed for anime, but she has also composed songs for many famous movies, TV shows, and advertisements. PEBCの国家試験に合格すると、希望する州で免許習得の 願書を提出することができます。実際の免許習得に必要な 事項は州により異なります。ケベック州の場合は、モントリ オール大学の薬剤師業務に関連したケベック州法の講座 を受けることになります。州法の試験に合格すると、一般薬 局で３ヶ月の実務実習を行うことができ、そのレポートが 認められるとケベック薬剤師会から仮免許が発行されま す。 この仮免許で、薬剤師として働くことができます。正式な 免許はOffice québécois de la langue française (OQLF)の 語学試験に合格後に発行されます。日本とは異なり、薬剤 師免許は毎年更新する必要があります。 カナダで薬剤師の免許に切り替えるのは、一つひとつ試験 をクリアしていかなければならないので時間がかかりま す。興味のある方は、焦らず根気強く頑張ってください。
Travailler comme pharmacien au Québec Français
Les facultés de pharmacie, au Québec, appartiennent à deux universités francophones : l’Université de Montréal et l’Université Laval. Les études de Pharmacie durent quatre ans. Leur programme est très intense et inclut plusieurs stages d’internat en pharmacie et à l’hôpital. Au Québec, vous pouvez devenir pharmacien en suivant ce programme d’études dans l’une de ces deux universités.
Si vous êtes plus à l’aise en anglais, il est préférable de passer les examens du Bureau des examinateurs en pharmacie du Canada (BEPC). Une fois que vous aurez fourni les documents requis et réussi l’examen de base du BEPC, vous pourrez passer les épreuves nationales de pharmacie. Tous les étudiants finissants en pharmacie du Canada doivent réussir ces épreuves pour avoir leur permis, à l’exception des diplômés québécois s’ils décident de n’exercer que dans la province de Québec. L’examen national du BEPC est composé d’une épreuve écrite sur deux jours et d’un test pratique appelé ECOS. Il y a deux séances d’examen par année et les candidats ont droit à trois tentatives pour chaque épreuve. L’épreuve écrite comprend 300 questions à choix multiples sur des scénarios de mise en situation. Comme les énoncés peuvent être longs à analyser, il est recommandé de se familiariser avec les lignes directrices médicales canadiennes. L’ECOS consiste en 12 tâches ou simulations de 7 minutes chacune. En général les simulations donnent lieu à des interactions avec des acteurs prétendant être un patient ou un professionnel de santé, comme un médecin ou infirmier. Après avoir réussi l’examen national du BEPC, vous pourrez demander une équivalence dans la province désirée. Les exigences pour obtenir un permis d’exercice varient d’une province à l’autre. Dans le cas du Québec, vous devrez suivre un cours de l’Université de Montréal sur la législation provinciale relative à la pharmacie. Ensuite, vous pourrez faire un stage de 3 mois dans une pharmacie. Une fois votre rapport de stage terminé et approuvé par l’OPQ, vous recevrez un permis temporaire grâce auquel vous pourrez commencer à exercer. Vous obtiendrez votre permis définitif quand vous aurez réussi l’examen de langue de l’Office Québécois de la Langue Française (OQLF). Contrairement au permis japonais, le permis québécois doit être renouvelé chaque année. Obtenir un permis québécois d’exercice de la pharmacie pour un pharmacien japonais est faisable mais demande beaucoup de temps, car il faut suivre les cours et passer les examens l’un après l’autre. Si cela vous intéresse, vous devrez être patient et persévérant.
To become a pharmacist in Quebec English
The pharmacy schools in Quebec are French-language universities -- Université de Montréal and Université Laval. Currently it is a four-year program, however, the curriculum is highly intense and include many internships in a pharmacy or in a hospital. In Quebec, you can become a pharmacist if you successfully complete the pharmacy programs at these two universities. If you are licensed in Japan as a pharmacist and are interested in working as a pharmacist in the province of Quebec, you need to be granted educational equivalency, and to have a Quebec pharmacist license issued by l'Ordre des Pharmaciens du Québec (OPQ.) For those who are fluent in French, there are two possibilities: 1) reenter and complete the program at the above-mentioned departments of pharmacy; 2) or, complete a 16-month bridging course, specialized for a foreign pharmacist, at the University of Montreal. Both have high admission standards. If you are better at English, it is recommended to go through the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) exams. If you complete the documents and the basic examination of the PEBC, you can take the national pharmacist examinations. All Canadian pharmacy graduates have to pass these exams in order to practice as a pharmacist. The only exception is the pharmacy graduates from Quebec. They do not need to pass these exams if they practice only in the province of Quebec. In the national exams, there is an exam written over two days, and a practical exam called the OSCE. Both tests are held twice a year and you are allowed to try up to three times for each. The written examination is a multiple choice of 300 questions. Since many questions are derived from case scenarios of wide-ranged fields, you should review Canadian medical guidelines and familiarize yourself with them. The OSCE consists of 12 tasks or simulations, and you are allowed 7 minutes at each station to complete your objective. Most of the cases are in the form of interactions with a simulated patient or health care professional, such as a doctor and nurse.

Si vous détenez un diplôme de pharmacien japonais et désirez travailler comme pharmacien dans la province de Québec, vous devez avoir une reconnaissance d’équivalence pour vos études et vous devez obtenir un permis québécois d’exercice de la pharmacie délivré par l’Ordre des Pharmaciens du Québec (OPQ). If you pass the PEBC national exams, you can ask for educational equivalency in the desired province. The requirements for license authorization vary from province to province. In the case of Quebec, you have to take a provincial law course that is related to pharmacist work at the Université de Montreal. If you pass the exam at the end of the course, you can do a 3-month internship at a pharmacy. Once your internship report is completed and accepted by the OPQ, a temporary license will be issued. You can start to work as a pharmacist with this license. The official license will be issued after passing the language exam of the Office Québécois de la Langue Française (OQLF.) Unlike Japan, the pharmacist's license needs to be renewed every year. Obtaining a pharmacist's license in Canada is feasible but is time consuming, since you have to prepare and pass the above-mentioned exams. 「一本のワインは交響曲。一杯のグラスはメロディのような ものだ」 とは、 フィリップ・ド・ロスチャイルド男爵の言葉。 どん なメロディが心に響くか。そんな好奇心を抱えながら出かけ たいお店が、今月御紹介するワインバー、M.Mme（ムッシュ ー・マダム） です。 2015年12月31日にローリエ通りにオープン。一歩足を踏み 入れてまず目につくのが、壁一面に取り付けられた巨大なワ インセラー。透明な扉のお陰で見えるボトルが、そのままお 店の粋なデコレーションになっています。お店中央に大理石 のバーカウンター、奥にオープンキッチン。多くの木材が使わ れ、スタイリッシュな中にも温かみを感じさせる内装。地下に は、試飲セミナーやパーティーもできる個室が用意されてい ます。 ソムリエのフランシス・アルキンソン氏が受け持つワイン は、世界のあらゆる場所から選りすぐった600以上の品揃え。 グラスで、 またはハーフグラスで、常時40種ほどの中から選べ るようになっています。ほとんどが個人輸入の貴重な品。 また 毎週火曜日の５時から８時までは試飲会を開催。２０ドルで １０種類もの貴重なワインを、丁寧な解説付きで楽しむこと ができます。 ムッシュー・マダムの大きな特徴は、そのお料理。ルメアッ クやレコンセルブでも活躍したシェフのステリオ・ペロンベ ロ氏が考案したお料理は、独創性に溢れ、 ワインとのペアリン グを追求した味わいとなっています。おつまみ、メインディッ シュ、デザートの三種類で構成されており、お客様の体調、気 分、懐具合などなど、その日のコンディションで選択しやすい ようになっています。
Le sommelier, Francis Arkinson, a rigoureusement sélectionné plus de 600 vins provenant des quatre coins du monde. On peut chaque jour choisir parmi une quarantaine de vins servis au verre ou au demi-verre. Il s’agit pour la plupart de petits trésors d’importation privée. De plus, chaque mardi, pour le 5 à 8, on organise une dégustation; pour 20 $, on nous fait goûter 10 vins exquis et on nous en parle avec passion. Mais là où M.Mme se démarque, c’est dans sa cuisine. Le chef, Stelio Perombelon, qui a entre autres œuvré chez Leméac et Les Cons Servent, élabore une cuisine qui déborde de créativité et dont les saveurs sont toujours pensées en fonction des accords avec le vin. Comme le menu est ingénieusement divisé en sections « avec les doigts », « à l’assiette » et « dessert », on peut facilement composer notre repas selon nos envies du moment. Surmontée de saumon fumé et de caviar, l’entrée de concombre à la forme d’une chaloupe s’accompagne parfaitement d’un vin blanc vif. Avec la terrine de foie gras qui fond dans la bouche, on suggère un Bordeaux. Rafraîchissant pour les yeux comme pour la bouche, le presque parfait hamachi mariné se conjugue à merveille avec tout type de vin. Savourez donc dès ce soir un concert de vins et vivez l’expérience d’une vie! Bon concert!

Upon stepping into the premises, the first thing you’ll notice is the massive wine cellar that takes up the whole of one wall. You’ll appreciate the bottles of wine that make up M.Mme’s urbane decorative scheme, glimpsed through transparent doors. The center of the wine bar features a marble counter with an open-style kitchen in the back. Wood is the predominant feature of the bar’s design and brings warmth to the stylish interior. The basement level offers private rooms for functions like exclusive parties and wine tastings. Overseen by sommelier Francis Arkinson, M.Mme’s wines represent a careful selection of over 600 varieties from across the globe. On any one evening, guests can select either a glass or half-glass from among 40 or so varieties. The majority of these wines are true treasures brought in on private import. As well, tasting sessions are held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday: for $20, you can enjoy a selection of 10 different wines accompanied by thoughtful explanation. One of M.Mme’s most notable features is its cuisine. In his pursuit of tastes and flavors that perfectly complement wine, Chef Stelio Perombelon, an alumnus of restaurants like Leméac and Les Cons Servent, has created a selection of dishes brimming with creativity. Selecting items from the three categories of appetizer, entree, and dessert, you’ll be able to easily select dishes based on the day’s circumstances. An appetizer of smoked salmon or caviar set atop a canoe-shaped cucumber complements a sharp white wine. The melt-in-yourmouth terrine de foie gras de canard pairs excellently with a Bordeaux. Vivid in both flavor and appearance, the hamachi mariné is an exercise in perfection that goes well with any wine on the menu.

Français « Une bouteille de vin, c’est une symphonie. Un verre de vin, c’est comme une mélodie. », disait le Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Mais quelle mélodie résonnera dans mon cœur? C’est pour trouver réponse à cette question que j’ai voulu me rendre à cet endroit que je vous présente ce moisci, le bar à vin M.Mme. Cet endroit, né le 31 décembre 2015, se trouve sur l’avenue Laurier. Ce qu’on aperçoit dès qu’on y entre, c’est le gigantesque cellier qui occupe un pan de mur entier. Grâce à ses portes vitrées, les bouteilles de vin qu’il renferme deviennent elles-mêmes de chics éléments du décor. Au centre de la pièce, un bar en marbre; au fond, une cuisine ouverte. Le décor raffiné se compose de plusieurs éléments de bois qui lui confèrent sa chaleur. Au sous-sol, des salles privées sont offertes pour y tenir fêtes et ateliers de dégustation.

作り方
材料（2～3人分）
1. お湯が湧いたらベーキングソーダを入れ、パスタをゆでる。

パスタ ベーキングソーダ
調味料 • 醤油 小さじ１ • みりん • とんかつソース • オイスターソース • 塩コショウ
2人分 大さじ１
大さじ１ 大さじ２ 大さじ１ 少量
お好みの野菜と肉 • もやし 1カップ • 人参 半分 • 玉葱 1個 • きゃべつまたは白菜 4−5枚 • 肉（ソーセージ、魚介類等） 適量 • にんにく 1片 • 生姜 約１cm • 油 適量
2. 好きな野菜とお肉を炒め、調味料を入れて味を整える。 3. 茹で上がったパスタを流水で洗って水を切る。 4. 炒めた具材とパスタをまぜ軽く炒めたら、お皿に盛りつける。 5. お好みで、マヨネーズ、紅ショウガ、青のりなどをかけて召し上がれ！

Sauce: • 1 tbsp soy sauce • 1 tbsp Mirin (or sake, or white wine) • 2 tbsp Tonkatsu sauce • 1 tbsp Oyster sauce • 1 pinch of salt and pepper
2. Fry vegetables and meats in a pan. Add sauce. Any selection of vegetables and/or meats • 1 cup of bean sprouts • ½ carrot (small) • 1 sliced onion • 4-5 leaves of cabbage or Chinese cabbage cut into about 2" squares • Meats (bacon, sausage, seafood etc.) • 1 chopped garlic clove • 1cm finely chopped ginger • 1 tbsp oil
Saviez-vous qu’en ajoutant du bicarbonate de soude à l’eau de cuisson des pâtes alimentaires on obtient un résultat qui ressemble drôlement aux nouilles de type chinoises.C’est aussi la parfaite recette pour utiliser les légumes et les viandes de notre choix pour faire un délicieux sauté de nouilles à la japonaise.

Instructions:
Légumes et viandes de votre choix • 1 Tasse de fêves germées • ½ carotte coupée en julienne • 1 oignon coupé en tranche • 4-5 feuilles de chou ordinaire ou chou chinois coupé en morceau de 5 cm • Viandes (bacon, saucisses ou fruits de mer, etc.) en quantité de votre choix. • 1 gousse d’ail coupé finement • 1cm de gingembre frais coupé finement. • 1 C.à Table d’huile (sésame ou végétale)
3. Once pasta is ready, strain it under cold water. 4. Add pasta to fried vegetables and meats. Toss it and mix it together. 5. For an extra touch, top it off with mayonnaise, pickled ginger, and Aonori (dried seaweed.)
