People Who Owe Me Money:
Andi The Lawyer From Brevard County, An Oral Contract With A Witness, $2,000.00 & Others!!!
Formerly Pat’s Place on NY Ave in Deland, $400
Did you add anything to the lawyer’s TV Commercial, the one that says, “Am I A Real Biker” And then he lists 5 things, to prove that he is & they are all justifiable on being a bike rider, but can you add to his idea of what a “real biker” is, (his words)? In other words I agree with him on his 5 points, but.........
Should a real biker, be able to change their own oil, fluids? What about checking your own tire air pressure (remember 35 front, 40 rear, check every 7 days, as this weather temp change can cause air pressure to diviate............again 35/40-7?
Should a real biker, at least a novice mechanic/ someone who can diagnose a problem, without running to a certified wrench. Can you tell the difference between a primary chain “slap” and a lifter “pecking”? It could save you mucho denaro if so, as replacing a primary chain is quiet simple, if you have a manual.
You can’t replace a bad lifter, if they’re not the adjustable type, without pulling off the rocker box, $$$!!! For what you pay someone else to pull the top end off, replace stock push rods, with adjustable ones & you can change out a bad, noisy, collapsed lifter easily. Adjusting the new push rods is very simple once you see in your head how they work, in other words, lengthen the push rod while lobe of cam is at the bottom, so when you turn the motor over the push rod

rises with/when the cam lobe, that the lifter sits on comes up, the rod will cause the valve to open, either to receive gas (intake) or to let the exhaust to be removed from the cylinder (exhaust)! You get all that!
Does this help us become real bikers, probably not, but it elevates us to where we can start to learn the simplicity of the motor. The Harley motor from the EVO back seems to be the easiest to work on, but even on the Twin Cams, you should be able to hear a pecking or collapsed lifter, and know what a primary slap is.
That chain can be adjusted by you. Do you check the tension on the primary chain from time to time, inspect the nylon shoe? What about your drive belt/chain. Your manual will give you all the dimensions to adjust each.
This is what I’d add to being a real biker, though it may take you awhile to figure it all out. Last month I was teasing about fingerless gloves........but myself and the ones I ride with always wear gloves, why? Well, if you go down, what’s the 1st thing you stick out to break you fall/skid? Your hands, right? Protect them!!!
So, Lawyer Politis, thanks for your input and I hope it makes our readers think more about what you & I had to say, thanks.

What A Shame A Man Can’t Ride What He Wants, Wear Any Color Clothing He Preferrs, Put Certain Patches On His New Vest, Excluding Club Colors That Are Trade Marked, Or Start A 100% Family Club Without Being Beat Up. Hell I may Get Beat Up For Writing This But I Call BS. You Forgot Where You Came From And What You’re About. Riding, Camping, Drinking, Telling Stories, Fixing Brothers/Friend’s Bikes, Games, Wrestling & F@#king, All In A Big Field, Or In The Woods. AMA Said You Can’t Come And Race Then, A Few Broke That Unwritten Rule, Today’s Clubs Enforce it, Because They Can. How Sad? Clubs Today Are No Different Than the AMA Was 70 Years Ago. Congrats, You Won And Became Like Them!!!

This guy is living the dream - standing tall with that unmistakable pride only a gearhead knows, his hand in hers and his beast of a Nova by his side. The polished green paint and that aggressive hood scoop say it all: he’s built to turn heads, on the street and in life. This is pure ‘70s muscle car glory, and he knows it.
They also analyzed three “protective” factors that could help mitigate the impact of war stressors: “Optimism,” “unit cohesion” during deployment and soldiers’ “homecoming experience.”
The researchers found that malevolent environment was the most consistent predictor of PTSD, depressive symptoms and anxiety symptoms later in life.
Moral injury also contributed to PTSD, and both moral injury and perceived threat were slightly associated with anxiety symptoms.
The effect of combat exposure actually became statistically insignificant when compared with the effects of the other three stressors.
“Malevolent environments, such as uncomfortable climate or awful smell, may seem to be less severe stressors compared to life-threatening events in the battlefield,” the study says. “However, chronic and daily stressors, rather than less frequent severe life events, can have a serious impact on individuals’ mental health.”
The impact that environment can have on mental health may be an important motivation behind the U.S.’s efforts to provide American-style housing and amenities for troops in the Middle East, Aldwin said.
For this study, the team focused on Korean veterans in part because there is little to no literature worldwide on post-
war mental health issues among Korean vets, even though their rate of PTSD is higher than U.S. Vietnam veterans, an estimated 30% of whom will have PTSD in their lifetime.
The researchers speculate that this higher rate may be because most Korean soldiers in Vietnam were ground troops, and thus exposed to a lot of trauma and environmental stressors. Social stigma around mental health treatment in that era may have also played a role, as Korean veterans may have been unlikely to seek or be able to find treatment for PTSD when they came home.
Future studies will compare Vietnam veterans with veterans from the Persian Gulf and post-9/11 wars.
