Whether you help make, move or sell our products, we all have an important part to play in delighting customers and consumers with great beverages and service, and helping CCEP become the world’s most reputable and valuable Coca-Cola bottler.

We know that we have something special. That’s why earlier this summer we launched our people strategy. If we can make everyone’s experience the best it can be, we think – we know – that’s going to drive our lasting growth.

Every quarter, we will be celebrating successes and sharing your stories – how you’re owning your experience and helping others to do the same through each of the six beings.

e know the things that add to or affect our sense of wellbeing are different for each of us. Having the right mix of tools and support available for you to take care of your own wellbeing is our highest priority – from your physical and mental health to other aspects, like your social and financial wellbeing. How we train managers and colleagues to do that at CCEP is the starting point when it comes to keeping you well.

A culture of wellbeing at CCEP, with plenty of local flavour Over the coming months we will rely on your feedback to make sure we focus on the areas that matter to you and put the right things in place to create a more consistent approach to wellbeing across CCEP. We will also think about local needs and solve the issues you raise with us.

There are many local schemes of all shapes and sizes around CCEP that have been organised by colleagues who feel passionately about their own and others’ wellbeing.

We’re committed to building a platform not just for those local activities already in place, but to support and promote being well at CCEP in a way that’s accessible for all employees and people managers.

We’re doing this by investing in what we already have – extending our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

across the rest of our business. There’s a wealth of information to support you in many different areas when it comes to your wellbeing.

So what are we doing? And how will it help us long term?

1. Over the next few months you’ll have the chance to have your say – through a range of activities, from focus groups and events to many other local opportunities.

2. We’ll be talking more about the great things we already offer around the business and looking at what best practice looks like across our industry.

Did you know?

Our team in Germany have won two industry awards for their approach to wellbeing. The VORLEBEN programme has helped people recognise and reduce mental and social stress in the workplace, including many pilot initiatives across BU sites such as an innovative digital back therapy app, Kaia, and wellbeing workshops involving over 1,000 employees!

3. Each BU will share their own approaches to wellbeing and, guided by your feedback, understand where the areas of focus should be.

A DECADE OF DEDICATION Morpeth celebrated its 10-year anniversary of no lost time incidents (LTIs) over the summer

c

CEP took over operations at Morpeth in 2008. When we did so, we changed the focus from carbonated drinks to bottled water.

Since then, production has more than doubled and Morpeth now produces 56,000 bottles per hour.

These improvements are thanks to meticulous planning and attention to health and safety, and this summer, our Morpeth site passed 10 years without a safety-related incident. From regular checks to constant evaluation of possible hazards, the safety culture at Morpeth is driven by the team. Good health and safety is key to being well at work.

“I am hugely proud of our team at Morpeth and their dedication to maintaining an outstanding health and safety record,” said Paramjeet Pahdi, Operations Director at Morpeth. “Reaching 10 years

with a no-LTI record is testament to the diligence and care, and taking part in the appropriate training to keep them safe in their jobs, something CCEP continues to invest heavily in,” he added.

The anniversary was marked with a celebration at the site for colleagues and their families. Morpeth also prides itself on being a force for good in the community by contributing to local initiatives such as running Unified Sports, an athletics competition for those with intellectual disabilities, and the site also provides free SmartWater at Morpeth’s annual bonfire night.

How our new online platform is making it even easier to stay connected with HR information, tools and support – all in one place

e know it’s essential to have the right tools to do your job properly, when and where you need them – and accessible to everyone from any digital device.

That’s where Genie comes in. It’s your go-to for all things HR. A helpful friend “We decided to go out and listen to our business leaders and their teams, and ask them what matters to them – what would they like to have to make life simpler for them with anything people related,” said Sanam Moayedi-Stummer, People & Culture Programme Lead.

Use the search bar to find any word and there’ll be information personalised to your role, work location and country. Plus, quick links to tools like SuccessFactors and Juice all in one place make it quicker and easier than ever before to get access to what you need.

When you need help, you just need to ask. You can submit a request and track them through ‘My Requests’, where you can see everything you’ve ever asked for assistance with. It’s easy to see when help is available.

Just click on ‘Contact us’ to find phone numbers and times the People Services team is available.

The plan is to host every single company policy on it in the future, not just People & Culture but also Compliance, Finance, BPT and more.

Genie will keep growing and improving based on your feedback. Every month the platform is updated, so check back and visit ‘What’s new’ every now and then to see what improvements have been made.

“As a key account, we have a lot of demands from our clients, we have to respond really quickly, meaning sometimes we don’t have time for our own admin,” said Valencia Katanga, National & Key Accounts, Belgium.

“Genie is really freeing up time – it takes me five minutes to do something that used to take much longer – it’s really adding value!”

ALL THE HEADLINES, COMING TO REDLINE Making it easier to catch the news in CCEP

I

n a business like ours, there’s a lot to keep up with – whether it’s a team needto-know or something that everyone everywhere will want or need to learn about. You told us it should be easier to communicate and connect with each other, using something quick and accessible to stay up to date with the things that matter. We’re pleased to introduce Redline, a mobile-ready, personalised news experience. It’s like the kinds of social media we use in our personal lives, where you can like, comment and share the content that most appeals to you. All the stories are bitesize and quick to read. You’ll have access to the latest news quickly, pulled directly from our social media feeds, but also through the content posted by our colleagues.

You’ll be able to personalise what you see and read by subscribing to specific ‘channels’, depending on the topics you are interested in.

Connecting our business We’re launching Redline country by country, with France, Netherlands, Sweden and our Top 500 leaders already online, testing the platform and giving live feedback on how it’s working. Further countries will come onboard through the autumn as we look to deliver a platform that helps to truly connect our business and deliver topical, relevant information on demand.

ur second company-wide engagement survey closed last month and overall almost 14,000 of us shared our thoughts and feelings about life at CCEP. That’s an outstanding turnout and a great sign that we’re committed to making a positive difference and shaping a better future for all of us.

n our day-to-day lives we all have our personal goals – somewhere we want to be or a challenge we want to achieve – but no matter how informal, we each know what we need to do to accomplish them.

It’s the same at CCEP! Our ambition is to be known as the world’s most reputable and valuable bottler and to achieve this we all have an important role to play. Our objectives put each of us in control of our working experience at CCEP. They help us focus on what we need to do to grow and be successful, as individuals and as a company. How we achieve our objectives is often down to our individual efforts and contributions, and it’s the regular feedback from our managers and those around us that’s the crucial ingredient that helps us to perform, learn and develop.

Managing performance and development at your fingertips Last year we introduced the Performance Acceleration Tool. Accessible via mobile phone, tablet and desktops, this tool is designed to track performance and put personal growth in your hands – capturing your objectives, feedback and development all in one place.

The feedback option within the tool allows you to provide feedback to your manager and colleagues, and request feedback from anyone you’ve worked with – not just those in your team. It’s a convenient way to capture the great things you’re delivering, but also to gain valuable insights from those around you into how you can keep progressing.

TAKING OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW Boosting your strengths through CCEP’s development programmes At CCEP, being developed gives you the chance to make the most of every opportunity available to you – whether you want to learn a new skill or apply for exciting vacancies across the business, there are many opportunities designed to help you grow.

We spoke to Despoina Papa about her development experience so far at CCEP…

We’ve listened to what you’ve told us Many people across CCEP are already using the tool to have performance conversations to drive their performance and development, and your feedback has told us that enhancements are needed to improve the user experience.

You told us that the name ‘Performance Acceleration’ was confusing compared to other apps, so we’re giving it a name which clearly brings to life what it does, and brings it more in line with ME@CCEP – by calling it: MyPerformance@CCEP. Preparing for year-end You don’t need to wait for year-end to use it. Using MyPerformance@CCEP to add notes against your objectives and capture feedback will support your year-end conversations, ensuring all your achievements and development opportunities are included. Breaking it down into regular intervals throughout the year is also an easy way to avoid a lengthy exercise at year-end.

Despoina Papa, Supply Chain, France CCEP has helped me take advantage of a new PanEuropean opportunity by nurturing me and helping me develop in my role.

In July 2017, I joined CCEP in the Material Supply team for Supply Chain France. But I wanted to gain new skills and develop my existing ones, so in June I moved to the Above Market Short Term team. I now work on co-packing and raw materials coordination across CCEP. My manager and other CCEP colleagues have helped me make the most of working with constructive feedback through the MyPerformance@CCEP tool and that has helped me move forwards.

I regularly check Juice for new and different learning content. I also completed ‘Influence for Results’ training last November. Those two days helped me focus on the best approaches to influence others and practise with my colleagues via role plays and presentations.

I’m always looking to improve, so I’m taking Spanish courses via the Berlitz platform. I’d recommend giving everything a try!

Our answer to this has been the launch of Rewards Explorer – a one-stop-shop that summarises the potential value of your total rewards for working at CCEP, and how it’s broken down – including the values of your elected benefits.

It’s already live in seven countries (you can see to the right if it’s available where you are!), and by the end of this year we will have launched Rewards Explorer across all of CCEP, providing easy access to clear, easy-to-understand information about your pay and benefits – anywhere, anytime, on any device.

Helping you feel invested in our business Whether you help make, move or sell our products, you play a special role in our success. We’ve established a sole partnership with Morgan Stanley to deliver the Share Plans we currently run around the business. We’re using the opportunity to look ahead by enhancing the offering. We’re doing this by redesigning aspects of the Plan, which mean it could be rolled out into other markets across CCEP in the future.

This month we announced new goals to help us deliver our products to consumers, for every channel in every market, in the most sustainable way:

We will remove all unnecessary or hard-torecycle plastic from our portfolio, through light-weighting and the removal of all secondary packaging made from plastic.

We will bring forward our goal to achieve 50% recycled content in our plastic packaging from 2025 to 2023, and continue to accelerate towards 100% recycled or renewable plastic across our entire portfolio.

We will support well-designed deposit return systems, where a successful proven alternative does not already exist, in line with our goal to collect a bottle or can for every one we sell by 2025.

We will publish our packaging footprint on an annual basis, by pack type.

We will embed our packaging goals fully into our commercial strategy.

I am the first Coca-Cola bottle made from marine plastic We’re investing in new technologies to recycle the unrecyclable.

Meet our new, sample bottle made using recovered and recycled marine plastics. It’s made using 25% recycled marine plastic*, retrieved from the Mediterranean Sea and beaches by our Mares Circulares programme.

This sample bottle is proof of the transformational potential of new enhanced recycling technologies.
