One of the biggest concerns about online-schools is online safety for learners. At Inventum International we understand this concern from parents, and we want to assure our parents that we have taken all possible steps to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all our learners. This short guide will detail how we keep our learners safe, so parents can have the peace of mind that their children are engaging in an exciting education within a safety-net which protects them.
1. Dedicated Safe Guarding Lead
We take the safeguarding and child protection of our learners very serious at Inventum International. To this purpose, we have a dedicated Director who is responsible to ensure that all our learners are safe.
2. Safe Online Environment
a. Google
Inventum International has its own Google Domain. This means that we:
✓ Issue a unique email ID to each learner, study coach and tutor
✓ Have active protocols in place in our domain to secure email, and filter dangerous, malicious emails
✓ Control the Safe Search function on our domain to ensure that search results are age appropriate
✓ Google Vault stores all interactions between learners, study coaches and tutors.
b. Canvas
All courses and modules are designed within our Canvas Learning Management System. This means that:
✓ Only Inventum International learners, tutors and study coaches can access this platform
✓ It is only accessible with the school issues Google ID
✓ Learner interaction is secure, safe and monitored.
3. Safe Recruitment
Inventum International follows the strictest recruitment and vetting procedures prior to appointing tutors and study coaches.
✓ We have detailed policies in place to ensure all interactions are safe, friendly and appropriate
✓ All tutors and study coaches also have to complete Safeguarding Training prior to joining our team
✓ All tutors and study coaches have the most up-to-date knowledge on safe guarding and child protection issues
We have a detailed Safeguarding policy which covers all aspects of online behaviour and interactions.
4. Well-being
We realise that online-schooling can become challenging at times. For this reason, well-being is one of the four pillars our online school is build upon.
✓ Well-being modules help learners develop holistically
✓ All learners engage with Pulse, our special well-being app
✓ Study Coaches closely monitor our learner responses to wellbeing questions and help where needed
Our Director of Safeguarding is always available to meet to answer any more questions. Online safety for our learners is our most important priority at Inventum International.
