A Chamber of Commerce, by definition, is a local association to promote and protect the interests of the business community in a particular place. Further, a Chamber is also a place for connection, protection, advocacy, and education, while serving as a catalyst for the betterment of our community. We are wholeheartedly committed to doing just that. Promote; Protect; Educate; Connect.

Upon my arrival in Butts County, it was not long before I realized this place was special. Someway, somehow, our community had managed to preserve the beauty of a quintessential small town while fostering a thriving business community through “responsible growth”. The time-honored tradition of supporting and protecting our own is still alive and well in Butts County. The Chamber has diligently worked to preserve this quality through strategic collaboration amongst all community players for the benefit of those who live, work, and visit our beautiful Butts.

2025 was a whirlwind as we welcomed large-scale events to promote tourism and economic development. Partnerships with our educational systems, business owners, local & state governing authorities, as well as local non-profits brought a wave of excitement, as we successfully launched inventive programs to serve the greater good illustrating that teamwork really does make the dream work.

The Stranger Things Convention brought thousands of visitors from around the world while solidifying our partnership with Southern Crescent Technical College; Fashion for our Future mentors’ high school students, promotes small businesses, and educates our community on the works of our local non-profits; Senior Bingo Basket Give-Away enlightens our citizens on benefits and resources made readily available; The Family Connection Santa visit works to assist our Ferst Readers; The Festival of Trees showcases local organizations while promoting tourism; Leading our Butts Legislative Breakfast brings together our County, Municipal, and State Elected officials to discuss crucial policy; our Chamber Forecast Session offers various ways for you to get involved.

We plan to continue these new initiatives, in addition to our already established programs, through 2025 and beyond. As this year commemorates our County’s Bicentennial, we reflect on the past and look towards the future. How can you personally help us preserve the beauty of what-is, while ensuring our thriving, “quintessential small town” remains intact for the next 200 years? GET INVOLVED. Assist our efforts to promote our community, protect our community, educate our community, and connect with community. President Ronald Reagan once famously stated “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same…” Now switch out the word “Freedom” and replace it with “Our community and way of life.”

As we usher in 2025, I would like to take a moment to celebrate our collective achievements and outline my aspirations for the upcoming year. Together, we have navigated challenges, commemorated our successes, and reinforced the connections that make our community both dynamic and resilient.

Throughout 2024, we have made remarkable progress in improving our infrastructure, increasing green spaces, and uplifting our local businesses. I am immensely proud of the commitment and effort each of you has shown in enhancing the quality of life in our community.

As we look ahead to 2025, our mission remains to foster a more robust and sustainable community, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued. We will continue to prioritize public safety, invest in literacy initiatives, and promote economic development that benefits all residents.

I invite you to remain active and involved by attending our upcoming town hall meetings, participating in community events, and exploring volunteer opportunities. Your input is vital in shaping the future of our community.

THE CITY OF FLOVILLA MAYOR BETH BURNS

The City of Flovilla, was incorporated in 1885 and is ideally situated in central Georgia, within the southern section of Butts County. Located approximately 50 miles south of Atlanta and 40 miles north of Macon, Flovilla is home to around 650 households and features a number of beautiful historic homes, a picturesque downtown area, churches, beautiful parks and easy access from both Georgia Highways 23/87 and 42. The city offers a range of services including a volunteer fire department, public parks, city water and various other services. Flovilla is known for its quiet and charming atmosphere and is affectionately known as the “Villa of Flowers.”

Historically, Flovilla is famous for the Flovilla & Indian Springs Railway, an interurban railway line connecting Flovilla to Indian Springs. Positioned along the main line of the East Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia Railroad, Flovilla had a significant need for a transport link to Indian Springs. Built in 1888, the Flovilla & Indian Springs Railway holds the distinction of being the shortest incorporated railroad in the world. Initially, the railway used horse power, but later transitioned to steam, with the steam engine referred to as the “Dummy.”

Another important historical site in Flovilla is the Flovilla School House. Established in 1885, it was one of four schools in the Indian Springs District, the others being Indian Springs, Rock Creek, and Mt. Vernon. The Flovilla School was founded by several local men and initially charged a tuition fee of $1.00 per month for each student. The high school section of the school was closed in 1920, when students transferred to Jackson High School, while the elementary school was closed in 1932, and students were transferred to Indian Springs School.

The Butts County Historical Society has been restoring the historic Flovilla School House over the years. Inside the school room, visitors can still see the original pot-belly stove that once heated both the students and their meals, along with vintage desks, school books, notebooks, and other memorabilia from former students.

Throughout the last 140 years, the City of Flovilla has remained steadfast, preserving its rich history while embracing the changes of the times. The community continues to move forward with a spirit of resilience and adaptability, ensuring that its unique blend of Southern charm and historical significance remains a defining feature. As it navigates the future, Flovilla honors its past while welcoming progress, making it a vibrant place for its residents and visitors alike.

CITY OF JENKINSBURG

Jenkinsburg’s history begins with Talton Franklin Colvin, born in 1807 in South Carolina. He later moved to the Buttrill area near today’s Jenkinsburg, farming 263 acres. Talton served in the Civil War and, after taking the Reconstruction Oath, regained citizenship. He and his wife, Adaline Crumbly Colvin, are buried near Jenkinsburg.

Their daughter, Nancy Mary Colvin (b. 1839), would later play a pivotal role in the town’s history. Nancy married William A. Crumbley in 1857, and they farmed land now part of Jenkinsburg. During the Civil War, William was killed, leaving Nancy to manage their farm alone. Sherman’s march brought devastation, but Nancy rebuilt her life, showing resilience and determination.

In 1865, Nancy married William H. Jenkins, and they had a son, Joab Jack Jenkins. Nancy owned and managed the land, which became crucial to the area’s development. She donated four acres for the United Methodist Church and sold land to the railroad and for Georgia Highway 42, which spurred growth.

The arrival of the railroad in the 1880s transformed Jenkinsburg into a growing town. Nancy’s land sales led to homes and businesses being established, and in 1889, the city was named Jenkinsburg in her honor.

Nancy’s legacy includes the Crumbley House, built in 1896 and later owned by notable families, including Truett Cathy’s, founder of Chick-fil-A. Nancy passed away in 1920, but her contributions to Jenkinsburg’s development left a lasting mark.

Through her resilience and foresight, Nancy Colvin Crumbley Jenkins shaped Jenkinsburg into the community it is today.

JACKSON-BUTTS COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS

The Jackson-Butts County Council for the Arts is organized for the purpose of encouraging excellence in the arts by promoting a broad range of art experiences throughout the county.

The Arts Council has a permanent art collection of over 50 pieces which are on display in our Art Center, located in the Historic Courthouse on the Square in Jackson, as well as throughout the Visitors Center.

The Arts Council sponsors several Pop Up Art shows each year and are proud to feature local and regional artists and their work. We also host Art Classes, taught by local artists, throughout the year in our Art Center.

Our Community art show, Butts County Creates, is held each year in conjunction with the Butts County Fall Festival. This is the perfect opportunity for local residents to display their talents in a variety of mediums.

The Student Art Show is a collaboration with the art teachers from the 5 Butts County Schools, and highlights one student per grade, per school, and honors them for their achievements in art.

The Arts Council awards a $1000 college scholarship each year to a qualified graduating High School Senior who is attending college to pursue a degree in an Arts related field.

The Spring Art of the Garden tour has been an outstanding addition to the community and will be held on May 17, 2025. Five fabulous Gardens will be on this year’s tour, along with an artist in each garden. The Arts Council currently has 70 members and meets once a month for a potluck supper and program. New members are always welcome, and no artistic ability is required!

Exciting things are happening at the Southern Crescent Technical College Butts County Center! The value and importance of technical education has never been more apparent as the College works to deliver relevant technical education to our students and partners in business and industry, centered around our mission of workforce development.

Conveniently located just west of downtown Jackson, the Southern Crescent Technical College Butts County Center offers credit, non-credit, and Adult Education classes and serves as your local partner for workforce development in the community.

Southern Crescent Technical College is a public, accredited, two-year postsecondary institution that trains students in the latest technology through programs that are specifically designed to meet the needs of local business and industry. Southern Crescent Technical College now offers Industrial Systems Technology, Automated Manufacturing, Diesel Technology, Commercial Truck Driving and Nurse Aide for college-credit at the SCTC Butts County Center.

With overwhelming support from our community and business partners, SCTC has recently announced that they have been awarded a $3.95 million federal grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for the expansion of the highly acclaimed LPN/Paramedic to RN Bridge program to the SCTC Butts County Center, broadening educational access to aspiring nurses in rural Georgia. With recent approval from the Georgia Board of Nursing for this strategic expansion, SCTC will now be able to offer a streamlined path for these dedicated healthcare practitioners to upskill and elevate their careers by becoming registered nurses. The competitive program begins August 2025 and consists of three semesters, enabling participants to complete their RN education in just one year. Classes in the RN Bridge

program will be flexible to accommodate working nurses and paramedics. This expansion supports SCTC’s steadfast efforts to bring essential healthcare training to underserved areas, ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible across Georgia.

SCTC’s Butts County Center has recently opened the Small Business Entrepreneurship Center, designed to bridge the gap between education and entrepreneurship. Open to students and the public, this new creative space will foster innovation, stimulate entrepreneurial thinking, and support the growth of startup ventures while providing expertise, mentorship, and strategic guidance to students, faculty, and aspiring entrepreneurs. In partnership with the Butts County Industrial Development Authority and the Butts County Chamber of Commerce, this center has an Advisory Committee made up of local business partners and will serve as a hub for new entrepreneurs within the SCTC community.

The SCTC Butts Center remains the home of a state-of-the-art mobile training lab that continues to assist both our credit and noncredit programs to train students in the highly technical and highdemand areas of Industrial Systems, Mechatronics, and Automated Manufacturing. With the need for skilled workers proficient in these technical areas continuing to rise in the communities we serve, SCTC holds steadfast as a viable source for workforce development.

Nick’s New Beginnings’ mission is simple: to love and support all individuals where they are in their recovery journey, offering hope and guidance through every stage of the process. The organization’s founders, Garret and Christina Vandever, understand that addiction doesn’t discriminate and that every individual’s path to recovery is unique. Their commitment stems from a deeply personal journey. Their son, Nick, was the embodiment of the allAmerican dream: a talented athlete who thrived in multiple sports and was surrounded by a close-knit circle of friends. After high school, he earned a baseball scholarship to college, where a shoulder injury while pitching led to an opiate prescription for pain relief. Like so many others, that prescription ultimately led to addiction. Nick went from a promising college baseball player to a young man trapped in a cycle of rehab stints and involvement with the criminal justice system. In 2014, at just 23 years old and a new father, he tragically lost his life to a heroin overdose.

Nick’s untimely death became the catalyst for the Vandever family’s unwavering mission: to advocate for prevention, provide support, and offer a guiding light to others, ensuring no other family has to endure the same devastating loss. In 2015, Garret and Christina began their work in recovery support with “The Reason” program focusing on prevention and awareness, followed by the creation of Nick’s House, a recovery residence. They later moved to Flovilla, Georgia, where they identified a lack of recovery services in Butts County. This realization led to the establishment of Nick’s New Beginnings in 2022, offering support through sober events, all-recovery meetings, Narcan training sessions, and educational outreach.

Nick’s New Beginnings honors Nick’s memory by providing resources, connections, and compassionate support to those struggling with addiction, as well as their families. Their journey and continued work embody a vision of hope and healing, helping individuals reclaim their lives and build new beginnings. ENJOY PICNICS & PROGRAMS AT HIGH FALLS STATE PARK

Living in Butts County, the Outdoor Capital of Georgia, we are blessed with great places to enjoy the great outdoors. High Falls State Park, located just 10 miles from downtown Jackson and about two miles of Interstate 75, is convenient for anyone looking for a picnic spot while enjoying scenic views.

With approximately 100 picnic tables spread out across the grounds, many with charcoal grilles, High Falls is perfect place to grill some burgers or bring a sandwich for a relaxing lunch. For larger gatherings, five covered picnic shelters offer groups up to 35 people a convenient meeting place with water, electricity, and grilles.

In addition to picnicking and other park activities such as hiking, kayaking, mini-golf, and camping, locals can take part in

a wide array of interpretive programing to learn about the natural resources in the area. Park Naturalist Bronwen Morgan has greatly expanded the programming at High Falls, which suspended during the Covid pandemic. Guided hikes are conducted weekly and cover a variety of topics including tree identification, seasonal mushrooms, animal tracks, and even nature poetry.

The new and improved ADA-approved Historic Trail makes the outdoors experience accessible across ability levels. A guided Historic Hike on this trail explores the history of the park, both ancient and modern, as it follows the old hydroelectric dam system offering views of the Towaliga River and water falls along the way.

In addition to hiking, programs such as “Craft & Learn” allow visitors to express their creative side while learning about the flora and fauna of the area. Other outdoor skills programs include

primitive fire starting and fishing basics.

During the summer, Junior Ranger Day Camps encourages kids to spend time outside and explore nature. Educational programs specifically for homeschool groups are very popular explore themes such as the four seasons, macroinvertebrates, decomposition, and basic botany.

Overnight guests can take part in “camper only” activities, such as Glow in the Dark Mini-Golf tournaments and smores making activities which contribute memories families will remember for a lifetime.

In addition to programs available to the public, the park also works with private groups such as schools, churches, and civic clubs to offer engaging programs and volunteer service opportunities.

High Falls State Park is staffed with 5 full-time and 11 parttime employees. In FY 2024, the park generated $860,699 in revenue from camping, facility rentals, activity fees and gift shop sales. Attracting 388,466 visitors annually, the park generates an economic impact of $51,588,285 and supports 390 local jobs according to state tourism figures.

DAUSET TRAILS NATURE CENTER’S ANNUAL SYRUP FESTIVAL: A SWEET TASTE OF TRADITION

Every year, as the chill of winter begins, Dauset Trails Nature Center in Jackson, Georgia, invites visitors to step back in time and experience a beloved Southern tradition: the syrup-making process. The center’s Annual Syrup Festival has become a highly anticipated event, offering both a glimpse into the past and a chance to savor the sweetness of pure, homemade syrup.

The Art of Syrup Making

The festival highlights the centuries-old method of turning sugar cane into syrup, an essential craft that harks back to the early days of the American South. Attendees can watch as skilled artisans press sugar cane, then cook the juice over a woodburning fire to create golden syrup. This slow, labor-intensive process, which requires patience and precision, is a tangible reminder of the hard work and ingenuity of early Southern farmers. Visitors are invited to learn about the history of syrup making, ask questions, and even taste the fruits of the day’s labor.

With such economic potential, as way leads on to way, up sprang the “watering hole and inn”, Indian Spring Hotel, with six glamorous resorts, casinos, dance halls and a few preferred boarding houses. Did you ever wonder about the

required dance cards entries, and the happiness they brought. And did you ever wonder about the ‘rest of the story’ - an assassination, a few arsons, and a Civil War.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like leaving your family for six months for the opportunity to work with 200 strangers to save your family and your country from a Great Depression in a CCC camp, with the honor of leaving our Nation, and our County, the good fortune of beautiful stone pavilions, bridges, a lake, better roads and more stories for the memory ledger.

Have you wondered of the “fiery tongued orators” drawing over ten thousand at a political convention and ‘religious camp meetings’ brought repeat visitors annually as the 19th century turned the page, and now Idlewild Events Center, Dauset Trails Nature Park and Indian Springs Holiness Camp Meeting, Indian Spring Hotel and Chapel, and Indian Springs Amphitheater boast tens of thousands annually with a message of togetherness and hope and joy. Have you ever listened to the winds of 1864 swirling the sad cries of a Country, where over 8,000 infantry men stage for three days before to Marching on to the Sea, while longing for loved ones from the north in an unexpected three-day rest as the unrelenting rains made the “bubbling waters”, or Ocmulgee River as known to the native Muscogee Peoples, impassable. Have you looked for the flames ‘which you could see from Atlanta to Macon’ in a mysterious series of burnings of the three largest resort hotels and one popular boarding house. Can you remember a simpler time when families and friends respected the finer things in life like a Ferris wheel, tilt-a-whirl or that special someone on a paddle boat or swimming ‘beach’ of McIntosh Lake, or a family picnic or fishing

or sitting in the cool waters of the rocks, or just sitting, anywhere?

Have you wondered how the anchor - our State’s oldest, the Indian Springs State Park, still so beautiful after almost 200 years. It sprawls almost 1,000 acres expanding last year by 234 acres with a 100-acre lake and refurbished cabins, RV sites, newly constructed campsites, a connector trail to Dauset Trails and a 11 mile trailhead to the City of Jackson. With 8 more miles planned, the area is set for 50 miles of trails for all levels of skill and desire.

Have you wondered how the economies were born and lost by this pivotal geographic point of the cross-roads of the South with original Native American walking trails; the trading paths of the 1700’s; the well-traveled wagon and Stagecoach trails of the 1800’s; Civil war marching trails; the railroad terminus; and the Dixie Highway with the advent of the auto for the elite in search of the fountain of youth? Ponder the disappearance of the roads after fires, prohibition, and the depression, quelled what some called the ‘sinful draw’ of the era – abolitionists, prohibitionists, suffragettes…..and that was just the locals. Since 2010, our grassroots efforts, sparked by a group of dedicated baseball moms in Locust Grove, Georgia, have raised millions of dollars to support local families facing pediatric cancer, terminal illnesses, food insecurity and hardships during the holidays. With our creed #loveoneanother, inspired by the timeless directive of Jesus in John 13:34, we are committed to fostering a culture of care and generosity, ensuring no one faces adversity alone.

We do approximately 12-15 fundraisers per year. Most of these being designated for a particular family and the event planned and catered around them. Once an event is completed, we continue to walk beside them along their journey. Typically, the families stay well connected and support other fighters at their events. Through the years we’ve had the privilege of supporting several families in the planning of funerals. This is a heartbreaking time, and we are honored to sit with them and take care of the expense when insurance is not available. At times we have to offer continued support for families, especially when it is a single parent situation as these journey’s are long and taxing both emotionally and financially.

All of our benefactors receive a handmade quilt that represents their favorite things from one of our community partners. All of our cancer families are also invited to a weekend getaway at The Great Wolf Lodge that is put on by one of our non-profit sponsors Thumbs Up.

In addition to fundraisers, we also have two other programs:

Backpack Buddies - We provide food bags for children on Friday’s that are food insecure. Currently we serve right at 300 and look to add another 200 next school year.

Christmas Kindness - For 13 years we have gathered families in need and paired them with families to sponsor them for Christmas. We have a magical party where everyone, both giving and receiving share a meal, program and lots of fun Christmas experiences including Santa!! This last year over 200 children experienced the magic of Christmas and the Hope of Jesus.

THE BUTTS COUNTY PREGNANCY CENTER

The Butts County Pregnancy Center, established in 2007, is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides free services to expectant families in Butts County and surrounding counties. The center exists to help men and women through pregnancy, parenting, and sexual integrity that lead them to hope.

Since 2007, the center has been able to help many expectant families. Our volunteers and staff discuss different options with expectant families, perform medical pregnancy tests, provide one limited ultrasound, teach classes, do community referrals, and provide resources. All of the services at the pregnancy center are free and confidential. The pregnancy center is able to continue these services free of charge due to generous donors. The year of 2024 has been the largest year yet, seeing over 400 clients.

God has truly blessed the work at the center, and it is an honor to see many families choose life for their baby because of the Butts County Pregnancy Center.

JACKSON PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH FRIENDS FOR THE JOURNEY

In 2001, my wife and I were looking for a new church home. I’d grown up in a large Presbyterian church in downtown Atlanta, but had come to prefer smaller churches because they felt more like family to me.

We decided to try Jackson Presbyterian Church. We had heard that their motto was “Friends for the Journey,” and we wanted to see for ourselves.

We were greeted at the door as we walked in, and had numerous members come up and introduce themselves. By the time the service was over, we had made new friends and knew JPC was the church for us.

Twenty-three years later, and Jackson Presbyterian is still my church and will be for the rest of my life. I’ve had church friends leave or pass away, but for every one who is no longer here, I have new church friends who remain family to me.

The church building itself is like a family home. The church was founded in 1826, and the current sanctuary was built in 1897. The original Victorian stained-glass windows with repeated fleurdel-lis patterns bathe the sanctuary with color and light as we worship God together.

The historic chandelier, originally gas, was retrofitted for electricity around 1907. Other interesting features are the original 19th century pulpit, amphitheater seating on the original pews, a “dished” pulpit area, and Victorian-era door knobs. The church also boasts Jackson’s first heating system with an original decorative grill for air flow.

Just like families do, the members of JPC do many things together. Every Sunday we have Bible study from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by coffee and homemade pastries in the church library. At 11 a.m. we have a traditional congregational worship at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Ed Hoard. Dress is informal (Pastor Ed prefers wearing Hawaiian shirts), so come as you are.

We have church luncheons the second Sunday of every month. Delicious Southern fried chicken is always on the menu (except for November, when we have a turkey fry), with members bringing scrumptious side dishes and desserts.

We go to Macon Bacon baseball games together. We have Friends Day in October, and Red Book Hymn Sings in the spring and fall, as well as special Christmas and Easter services.

Jackson Presbyterian Church also offers an online television ministry for visitors and for members who can’t attend services in person. We stream Sunday services on our Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/jacksonpresbyterianchurch. But we are not just a church family unto ourselves. Jackson Presbyterian Church is also part of the Butts County family.

When a Baptist congregation began to form in Jackson, they lacked a worship facility and for their first 60 years, Jackson Presbyterian Church shared their building for them to worship in.

The annual Spring Fling Plant and Craft Sale on the grounds of JPC has become an annual tradition for the community, and we are active with the Butts County Chamber of Commerce and the Butts County Arts Council.

Jackson Presbyterian Church provides breakfasts to volunteers helping to beautify Jackson during the city’s quarterly clean-up days, and opens our facilities to our local amateur radio club.

Jackson Presbyterian Church has provided its Fellowship Hall for Jackson Town Hall meetings. During the summer we have a Movie on the Lawn with the Downtown Council, and this past year we decorated a table for the Butts County Chamber of Commerce Banquet.

We host Yoga on the Lawn the first Saturday morning each month from May through October. We have community classes on arts like sourdough bread making, flower arranging, and calligraphy, and will be starting our Lunch n’ Learn meetings on issues such as financial planning and other educational topics again in January.

Jackson Presbyterian Church makes annual donations to the Christian Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) and Love Thy Neighbor, and at Thanksgiving we provide our Fellowship Hall for Love Thy Neighbor to use to prepare lunch boxes and trays to take to community shut-ins and families in need.

JPC participates in the Lovin’ Lunches program in the summer, helping to provide lunches to children while they are out of school. This summer we prepared 75 lunches every week.

Jackson Presbyterian Church is even helping with tourism in Jackson and Butts County. The exterior and foyer of the sanctuary serve as the “Hawkins Presbyterian Church” in the Netflix series “Stranger Things,” with fans of the show stopping by to take photos of the church.

The Jackson Presbyterian Church family also shares its love beyond the boundaries of Butts County. After Hurricane Helene devastated parts of the southeastern states, including North Carolina, the JPC family came together for a Sunday offering that provided $7,000 for Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief.

Every Christmas season, JPC also takes part in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, filling 50 shoe boxes with toys, school supplies, and personal care items for children in need around the world.

Jackson Presbyterian Church will celebrate it’s 200th anniversary in 2026. Throughout its 199-year history, the members of Jackson Presbyterian Church have been and continue to be “Friends for the Journey.”

BUTTS COUNTY FAMILY CONNECTION

Butts County Family Connection has served our community for over 30 years. Just last year, we provided over 1000 Community Resource Guides, connected over 250 families to local resources, mailed out 7384 books directly into the homes of Butts County children through our Ferst Readers program, and distributed an estimated $57,000 worth of goods to our families. Annually, in partnership with several local churches and the school system, Butts County Family Connection hosts the largest Back to School Bash event, providing 600 book bags with supplies to our community. We work with WellStar, GoodR, and Jackson United Methodist Church to bring five Mobile Markets to our community each year, providing fresh fruits and vegetables to families in need. Through a grant with Dollar General Literacy Foundation, we have been able to offer FREE GED courses

and cover costs of the exam. We host an annual Community Baby Shower event, providing resources, connections, and supplies to expecting families and families with children under the age of five. We oversee the local FERST Readers program, which has mailed out over 95,000 books in our community since inception. We connect community members to needed resources and partner organizations. We help to eliminate duplication of services and highlight areas of need. We are currently working with Indian Springs State Park to create a Story Walk trail in the park. Our goal is to bring community members from all walks of life, together, to the same table, to address the needs of Butts County Families and pave the way forward to a better future for our community as a whole.
