Antique show comes to Del Mar DEL MAR — The Del Mar Fairgrounds will be the site of this year’s Calendar Antique Shows from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 19 and Nov. 20, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 21, offering 65,000 square feet of antiques, vintage collectibles and decorator items from more than 250 antique dealers. These exhibitors will be selling antiques and collectibles including all types of glass, pottery, paper ephemera, crystal, jewelry, art, silver, Americana, primitives, American and European furniture. Calendar Shows is also proud to announce that they will be sponsoring a booth to help customers appraise their unknown treasures.The charge for this service will be $5 per item. The identification of the antiques and collectibles brought in by customers will be handled by experienced appraisers, including Kyle Husfloen, editor of The Antique Trader & Antique Trader Price Guides and Bill and Carol Kearney and Christine Saltzman of Cover your Assets. Also appearing at the show will be repair and restoration artisans who are experts in the fields of glass, crystal, porcelain, pottery, rugs, and jewelry, furniture and art restoration and wicker and caning repair. Fun Run benefits lifeguards

KIDS’ DAY The Del Mar Kiwanis Club and The San Diego Coastal Chamber of Commerce recently helped the Egoscue organization promote Kids Day, held in Carmel Valley. Banjo music was provided by Bob Siggins while Del Mar Chamber of Commerce President Nancy Wasko, Del Mar Kiwanis President Leslie Jackson with Cathy Golden, made and sold cookies and water to raise funds. DEL MAR — Jake’s Del Mar recently hosted its 28th annual Beach Fun Run, and raised $7,000 for the Del Mar Lifeguard Association. The 5K (3.2 miles) fun run took place on the beach, starting and finishing at the restaurant.
