NO BOOZE? NO PROBLEM!

WHY MOCKTAILS DESERVE A SPOT ON YOUR WEDDING MENU

Weddings are all about joy, connection, and celebrating love, and more couples are finding that you don’t need alcohol to make that magic happen! Today, couples are embracing alcohol-free celebrations with enthusiasm… and style! Enter the rise of the mocktail: vibrant, flavorful, and every bit as celebratory as its boozy counterpart. “What I’ve found really exciting,” said Carrie, a local Pensacola woman who recently chose a sober path alongside her husband Matt, “is that people aren’t just ordering a Coke or water anymore, they want something crafted, something they can savor without the alcohol.”

From signature sips with herbal infusions to zero-proof spirits that rival traditional liquors, mocktails are finding a permanent place at modern weddings. “There’s a whole new level of creativity happening,” Matt adds. “You’re seeing bartenders treating mocktails like an art form.”

Two local trailblazers, Brittany and Anthony, co-founded High and Dry, a zero-proof mobile bar and bottle shop serving the Emerald Coast. What started as a personal journey turned into a mission to make celebrations more inclusive and more fun. “We want people to feel like they’re still part of the party,” Brittany shares. “Our drinks are made with functional ingredients like kava or dandelion, so they’re good for you and taste amazing!”

And the demand? It’s real.

Brittany conducted a market survey of 171 participants, and the results were staggering: 51% said they’re already sober, 33% are thinking about moderating, and 13% are sober-curious. That’s nearly everyone, in one form or another, rethinking how they raise a glass.

That health-conscious flair resonates with many modern couples and guests alike. As Brittany notes, “Our customers range from 21-year-olds who care about their wellness to older women hosting weekly game nights. It’s not just a trend, it’s a shift.”

Matt agrees. “A great mocktail should have layers, like any good cocktail.” Carrie adds, “It’s about the ritual too. The glassware, the garnish, it should still feel special.”

That sense of occasion is exactly what makes mocktails such a perfect fit for weddings. They’re not just a substitute for alcohol, they are a statement! Beautifully crafted, thoughtfully served, and bursting with flavor, mocktails bring everyone into the celebration, no matter their drinking preferences. From elegant welcome toasts to lively late-night sips, these alcohol-free options turn inclusivity into an experience worth savoring.

So if you’re planning your big day, consider making space at the bar for a mocktail menu! As Brittany puts it, “We’re here to show people that you don’t need alcohol to celebrate. You just need something delicious in your glass.”

Beauty & The Bride

Pensacola brides-to-be were treated to an unforgettable evening of elegance and empowerment at “Beauty & the Bride,” a collaborative event hosted by Dare Bridal Boutique and Mind Body & Soul Medical. Held at Mind Body & Soul’s chic downtown venue, the celebration seamlessly blended high fashion with holistic self-care, offering a fresh take on bridal preparation. (1) The “Ornella” gown by Dare Bridal Boutique features a romantic illusion bodice adorned with intricate lace appliqués, a gathered silk skirt, and just the right mix of elegance and modernity for a truly unforgettable bridal look!

Creator and influencer, Alex Taylor (@alexxandrax) breaks down her top three wedding looks: (2) Pink is clearly my color, so I had my bachelorette night dedicated to it. The first night I wore this disco-esque pink and orange dress from Lovers and Friends. I wore my Gianni Bini orange heels along with a pink bag. (3) The following night was “dress like your fave Sex and The City character.” So I went with Carrie when she’s in Montauk (and sees Big and then proceeds to puke). I thrifted the skirt and ordered the top & hat from Amazon. (4) I knew I didn’t want to wear white for my rehearsal. I envisioned something more textured, cool-and-different, or bright. I luckily found this STUNNING dress on Revolve from Mac Duggal. I paired it with a gold bag I thrifted and nude heels from Target. (5) I wanted a pop of my hot pink wedding color to pair with this white, summery, vintage-inspired dress I found at Cotton On. I found the choker on Amazon for only $8!

(6) Randall’s Formal Wear showcased a bold style with a midnight blue tux and a classy bow tie. It is giving red carpet energy with all the charisma and charm that entails! (7) Dare Bridal Boutique’s Zinnia brings couture vibes to the runway, with its sleek satin, shimmering lace, and dramatic sleeves! (8) Donnatella, by Dare Bridal Boutique, graces the runway with regal energy. This gown has it all: layered lace, champagne tulle, basqued waist, and sheer romantic sleeves. GULF COAST’S

Ramona & HunterRandy FALL 2025 COASTAL COUPLE

Behind the heart of Jade Venue Pensacola, is the unstoppable power couple, Ramona & Randy Hunter. Ramona & Randy have been together for 23 years, finding strength and love through their determination and faith. Together with their daughter, Amari, their mission is to foster the community around them. They’ve helped many couples tie the knot, and now they’re here to tell engaged and newlywed couples what has made their union intimately bound.

Q: HOW DID YOU MEET?

RANDY: We met at Eglin Air Force Base. We were both stationed there. Ramona worked in the building as an admin and I was a project manager. My first impression was that she’s a caring person. She never says no. She’s always about the heart of the people, so I love that about her. That’s what attracted me to her. 23 years later, here we are.

RAMONA: I was in the military kind of doing my own thing, and a friend of ours invited me to a house party. Believe it or not, I stay home a lot. I’ll just go to work and go home. Throw parties and go home. So they kept inviting me to parties, and I was like no. She said, “Please come, I know somebody that really wants to meet you.” So I went to the party, and we ran out of alcohol. So I said, “I’ll go get the alcohol.” And Randy said, “I’ll go with her.” So we went to the local Albertsons store and I go up, ready to buy the alcohol, and he said to the cashier, “This is my wife.” And I said to the cashier, “Here’s my ID. This is my name. This is my first time meeting him. So if I show up missing tomorrow, he got me.” And that was first of everything.

Q: IF YOU COULD GIVE YOUR MARRIAGE A SLOGAN, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

RAMONA: Resilience, because in the first part of our marriage, we were separated. I was stationed in Italy and he was stationed here (Pensacola). That took a lot of resilience getting back and forth. Our whole family dynamic is no matter what comes our way we tend to lean on each other. So, I would say resilience.

RANDY: That gets to the heart of it, really. It was a lot. But, I think it’s the drive. You just have to care enough and be willing to put in the time and effort to work at it. When you get married, you think it’s all peaches and cream, but that’s when the real work starts. I was going to say “Rinse & Repeat” because we go through things, we do things, we see things. But in that, we always come back together. It’s easy to give up, but we just have that commitment to just keep going. Hopefully, it continues. She really likes me. We both keep our nose to the ground and keep working hard at it.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR NUMBER 1 TIP FOR A SUCCESSFUL & LOVING MARRIAGE?

RAMONA: That’s too easy. Works every time. God has to be the foundation of your marriage. We’re all humans, and we all have our own divine destiny. We all have our own divine assignments, our own personalities. So, you have to have the common ground that gives you guidance. So for us, God gives us the guidance. I don’t know what to say outside of that because that’s what works for us. It may not work for a lot of people, but that’s what works for us. It all goes back to what God says about this. How does God tell me to treat my husband? How does God tell me to treat my friends? How does God tell me to treat my clients? That’s my foundation.

RANDY: Our foundation is awesome. Luckily, we tied into a church here. That has really given us that view to wake up in the mornings intentional about praying. Be intentional about each other. We love each other every day, every morning. My pastor was preaching and he talked about being intentional about taking time with all the things that he does and all the things that he’s required to do for other people. He said, “My wife and I had to carve out time in our busy schedules to be intentional and just take that time to make sure nothing is left out.” That stuck with me, as in, we have to do this. It’s important because we’re busy people. Every day is a 12 hour day for us. She’s gonna be able to tell you when it started. It was a hotdog stand. We used to go to this hot dog stand every Wednesday night right across the fairgrounds. It’s just grown from there, and we love doing it.

RAMONA: That’s it. That’s a non-negotiable for me though because like he said, our schedules are so busy and everything can go ahead of the person who’s helping you the most. We go bowling. We go to the beach. It doesn’t always have to be spending money. It’s just being in each other’s presence. Sometimes we go sit in the car and just talk to each other like kids at a movie theater. Date night is when we get to do that “one thing”—so one thing that I can do better and one thing that I did well this week. If we don’t express this once a week, if I don’t find a safe place to do that, then what happens is I hold it all in. We don’t go to bed mad at each other. There’s no such thing as sleeping on the couch. I can count on 3 fingers how many times we ever had anything because we address it right then.

Q: C AN YOU DESCRIBE A SIGNIFICANT MOMENT IN YOUR LIVES THAT STRENGTHENED YOUR MARRIAGE?

RAMONA: I would say for me, it was finally being able to have our child. We lost 6 babies. We just kept trying. I’m like, “Oh my gosh, this is never going to happen.” The bed rest, the shots, and everything I had to do. The high risk was a strengthening point for me and for us to be able to do that together. God blessed us with a child that they said we weren’t going to be able to have. It’s just being there for each other when we need it most. When my brother had an accident, he (Randy) was my strength. When my grandmother passed, he was my strength. When I lost my first cousin who was like a brother, he was my strength. I think just being able to really let myself go with him, what I wouldn’t show the world.

RANDY: I do agree about Amari. She’s with us all the time. Most places you see us, you see her. Her middle name is Jade so that’s the name of the venue. It definitely grew us together. That was quite a few years that all of that occurred. Just not wanting to let her (Ramona) down. Just being the man I’m supposed to be. She makes me right. I’m supposed to be there and doing it for a person that works so hard to be successful in her personal profession and all the things she helps people with. It’s just great and awesome to see. I think it’s going to be a great story for her to tell and pass down to Amari.

Q: WHAT DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO IN THE REST OF YOUR LIFE TOGETHER?

RAMONA: We talk about this all the time. Some dreams are to travel and give back to our community. I want to just be able to watch my family and watch my baby grow and not struggle like we had growing up. That’s big for me. To be able to let Jade Venue and the venues that come out of Jade Venue be a place for others to experience. That’s my whole mission. I want to create a safe space to show them. I want it to outlive who I am for years to come, so maybe somebody can take that torch. We just want to be happy and give back and be able to travel.

RANDY: She (Ramona) has this heart for people. That’s the community part of Jade. When someone comes there and they’ve lost a loved one, we try to go over the top and just do more than is expected because there’s a soft place for family for us. She’s one of the strongest people in her family. A lot of people depend on her and leaving a legacy would be great for us. It’s not really about those material things. It’s not really over the top like we want to be rich or anything. We just want to be a giving part of the community and give people a place they can come and learn and grow together and celebrate their milestones in life.

REAL WEDDINGS

love stories and wedding inspiration

ADINA PHOTOGRAPHY

Tatum & Cade

Cade and Tatum’s love story is proof that when it’s real, you just know.

They met in Pensacola and clicked almost instantly. What started as casual conversation turned into something deep, fast. They were drawn to each other not just by chemistry, but by comfort and an unshakable sense that they’d found something rare. Within weeks, they were building a life together, and within months, their bond had already created something beautiful: their first child, Coda Layne Howell. As their relationship grew, so did their dreams. From quiet nights at home to a memorable trip to New York, every step brought them closer together.

Cade brings light and laughter into every room. Tatum brings loyalty, passion, and a deep love for his family. Together, they balance each other in the best ways, always pushing forward, hand in hand. They’ve weathered life’s changes side by side, with honesty, humor, and an undeniable spark that’s only gotten stronger.

Their wedding was a celebration of everything they’ve built and everything still to come. Now, as they prepare to welcome their second son, Coby Lawson Howell, their family continues to grow, rooted in love and fueled by the kind of connection that doesn’t come around often.

Radha & Jace

We met through our amazing sisters, Dhara and Jodilia. They had a feeling we’d get along, and while we didn’t exactly hit it off right away (Radha thought Jace was too quiet, and Jace thought Radha had a lot of energy), it’s true what they say—every great love story has its own perfect beginning. Radha, the bold extrovert she is, made the first move (no surprise to anyone) by texting Jace, “Let’s FaceTime.” Jace, a sweet gamer introvert who was definitely more used to headsets than heartfelt convos, said yes. And that first FaceTime? It lasted for hours. They couldn’t stop smiling, couldn’t stop laughing, and neither wanted it to end. Turns out, opposites really do attract. Just two weeks later, Jace flew out to visit Radha in Houston. The moment he walked out of the airport, Radha’s heart just knew that was it. Her forever person was standing right in front of her (probably wondering how he got here so fast). From that weekend on, everything felt so easy, so fun, so meant to be.

After a year of dating, filled with late-night snacks, long conversations, and Jace adjusting to life with someone who talks through movies, he proposed in the most perfect place: their home. Not just any home, though. Jace bought Radha a house nine months into dating. (Yes, she still quotes The Office every chance she gets: “You bought me a house!”) That house became their shared space, full of cozy nights, game marathons, dance parties in the kitchen, and life with their sweet pup Kobe. Now, they live in Orlando, building a life full of love, good food, adventures, and early morning cuddles with Kobe. Looking back, it’s wild to think that a simple “Let’s FaceTime” could spark something so beautiful. But that’s love—it often begins in the smallest, most unexpected moments and grows into a life you never want to live without.

Jenny & Scott

They say timing is everything, and for Scott and Jenny, that couldn’t be more true. Though they lived in the same town of Pensacola for over 16 years, their paths never crossed—until fate, and a dating app, stepped in.

In 2021, fresh from the solitude of a global pandemic, Scott and Jenny decided to give online dating a try. Little did Scott know that his very first match would become his forever. Their first date at Odd Colony felt less like an introduction and more like a reunion, with three effortless hours of conversation over craft beers.

From there, their romance took root quickly, and after three dates within a week, Jenny quickly claimed Scott as “her person.” Soon after, Jenny asked Scott which days he’d like to spend together that week. His answer was simple: “All of them.” They knew this was something extraordinary.

In September 2023, during a trip to the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, Scott proposed on a crisp, quiet morning in Bardstown. Jenny, never one for quick decisions, didn’t need a second to say yes.

On February 22, 2025, surrounded by family and friends, Jenny and Scott celebrated the love they waited so long to find. Their wedding was full of joy, laughter, and the unmistakable charm of their beloved Pensacola. It was a perfect reflection of their journey which has been rooted in patience, serendipity, and the kind of love that feels like home.

Alex & Luke

“Will you marry me?” is the YouTube message I came racing home to after middle school one day in 2008. I immediately typed back, “Of course but not until we’re 23 and I graduate from college.” I’ve always been a planner, if you can’t tell.

No, Luke and I did not get married in middle school or when we were 23 years old, but we did start a life-long relationship after meeting at the local soccer fields in Pace, Florida where we grew up playing on our respective club teams. He asked me to be his girlfriend after practice one night (March 3rd, 2008, to be exact) with all our friends huddled around us. And the rest is history…just kidding. After two awkward but awesome years of dating through middle school—where we learned each other’s weird habits and hobbies, debuted our truest selves, and admittedly scarred Luke for life by forcing him to watch all my favorite scary movies—we broke up.

Fast-forward and I’m at Florida State University, and Luke is finishing up his senior year of high school. Who better to connect with over Christmas break than the boy you dated in middle school who has now grown up into an objectively good looking boy-man?! Once we got through months of “talking,” we began officially dating at a Black Keys show in Gulf Shores (I asked this time!) What’s crazy to think about is this was only the beginning of a decade more of memories that run so deep. It feels like a disservice to try to encapsulate in these few words.

From being your number one sideline screamer at your soccer games to back-and-forth trips throughout college and surviving beyond-tiny living situations in New York City to moving back home as a family, falling in love has been nothing short of amazing. Growing and loving each evolving iterations of ourselves, while somehow still becoming closer and closer to who we want to be as individuals, best friends, and partners has gone beyond anything our middle school selves could have ever comprehended.

Then in July of 2023, this man pulled the ultimate surprise on me and popped the question in the same spot we became boyfriend-girlfriend over 15 years prior. I knew back then Luke was the one, but you get laughed at for saying that stuff at 13. And rightfully so! But we knew. And now I have the privilege, honor, and gift of a damn lifetime to spend every day with my best friend.

Morgan & Jordan

Morgan and Jordan, two individuals from different walks of life, found love on the dating app Hinge. Morgan, a professional vocalist based in Kansas City, swiped right on Jordan’s profile because of his stance on dating to marry.

Jordan, a feed operator at Purina Mills in St. Joseph, Missouri, had recently sold his house and was living with his parents until their wedding. Morgan, on the other hand, was living with her parents in Lansing, KS. The two embarked on their first date on December 8th, 2022, in Weston, Missouri.

As Morgan stood outside Weston Café waiting for Jordan, he saw her and instantly knew there was something special about her. They spent that morning walking around Weston in the cold, exploring charming Christmas shops, and falling in love like characters in a Hallmark movie.

Their differing backgrounds and lifestyles didn’t hinder their connection; instead, it strengthened their bond. Morgan’s deep-rooted faith inspired Jordan, who had little exposure to religion before meeting her. Morgan invited him to church and this shared faith brought them closer together.

Their wedding took place on October 12, 2024, at Pensacola Beach Resort, with a reception at the Salty Rose. The couple had a beach wedding with elements of a formal ceremony, featuring bright colors, a vintage car send-off, and around 100 guests. Their pastor, Kwan Porter, officiated the ceremony. The atmosphere was joyful and celebratory, with their closest friends and family witnessing their union.

Morgan and Jordan share a love for the Midwest and dream of owning acreage and an old-style home one day. As they begin their new chapter as a married couple, they are confident that their love will continue to grow and flourish, just as it has since that cold December morning in Weston.

SHOPPING TIMELINE?

Congratulations on your engagement–let the dress shopping begin! It’s never too early to start searching for the one. Right now, new gown orders typically take 5-8 months to arrive, so starting early ensures you’ll have plenty of time for fittings and alterations. For tighter timelines, sample gowns off the rack are a fabulous option, offering quick availability without sacrificing quality and experience. We recommend starting alterations 2-3 months before your wedding to achieve a flawless fit! Your dream dress is waiting for you–let us help you find it!

IN-PERSON VS.

ONLINE SHOPPING?

WHO’S INVITED?

When shopping for your wedding dress, bring the people whose opinions you trust most– those who love and support you unconditionally. While it’s tempting to make it a big event, it doesn’t have to be! Save the big celebrations for other moments in your engagement. Instead, choose a small group who will focus on you and your vision. And don’t forget, dads are welcome too–they can be wonderfully supportive and excited!

In-person wedding dress shopping is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you’ll treasure forever. Unlike online shopping, you can guarantee the quality of the gown and enjoy a personalized, catered experience tailored to your style and vision. Experienced stylists guide you every step of the way, ensuring a perfect fit and stress-free process. Plus, you’ll have a reliable shop to address any issues and make your journey to the aisle as seamless as possible.

“I WANT TO SLEEP ON IT”?

When you find the dress, don’t hold back– say yes! This is a once-in-a-lifetime moment filled with excitement, joy, and magic. Trust your instincts and heart and let yourself live in the thrill of falling in love with your gown. It’s not just about the dress; it’s about celebrating you and the journey to your big day. Capture that unforgettable moment and make it yours– you deserve every bit of the sparkle and celebration!

PRESSED FLORALS JEWELRY POP-UP

You hold a bouquet for a few moments, but after the wedding, almost every bloom or piece of greenery that the florist created can be preserved in its own way, to serve as a beautiful reminder of a once in a lifetime day. As a natural flower preservation artist, it is incredibly important to me to be able to preserve blooms in a way that you absolutely love. The most popular item that I create is preserving wedding bouquets as a framed piece of art for your home, but I also love when couples choose to branch out! There’s something so special about giving your bridesmaids a pair of earrings made from the tiniest pieces of your wedding blooms. Ornaments made from pressed flowers are always guaranteed to be an amazing gift around the holidays!

WHAT TREATMENTS TO GET AND WHEN

Your wedding day is a long-anticipated event, one you’ve likely dreamed about since childhood. It’s a day full of love, excitement, and memories, but let’s be honest—you also want to feel and look your absolute best. Glowing skin is the ultimate accessory to your dress, and makes sure that you look great in every photo taken to capture the celebration. But – achieving that picture-perfect complexion takes time and dedication. Just like everything else in wedding planning, good skin doesn’t happen overnight. Think of it as your ultimate skin-care journey— and trust me, it’s worth every step! As a board-certified Physician Assistant and Master Injector, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless brides prepare their skin for their special day. In this guide, I’ll walk you through a six month beauty timeline designed to give you that flawless glow every bride dreams of. Whether you’re six months out or already feeling the final stretch, there’s something here to help you achieve radiant skin on your big day.

6 MONTHS PRIOR: START BUILDING THE FOUNDATION

Let’s start at the six-month mark. I know it may feel like a long time away, but prepping your skin early is key to achieving longlasting results. This is the time to lay the foundation for smooth, healthy skin that will radiate when you walk down the aisle. First, let’s talk about microneedling. This treatment is a must for anyone looking to improve skin texture, minimize pores, and boost collagen production. I typically recommend a series of three microneedling sessions, spaced about one month apart. It works by creating tiny, controlled micro-injuries in the skin that stimulate your body’s natural healing process. In turn, your skin starts producing more collagen and elastin—two of the most important proteins for youthful, firm skin. Brides love

this treatment because over time, it leads to smoother, firmer, and more even-toned skin. And who doesn’t want that? While microneedling does wonders, it’s important to be patient. Collagen takes time to build, so starting early will give you time to do a series, giving you the best possible results by your wedding day. At this stage, you’ll also want to introduce medical-grade skincare into your routine. Unlike drugstore products, these are specifically formulated with higher concentrations of active ingredients, ensuring they penetrate deeper into the skin and provide noticeable results. I recommend starting with a cleanser, exfoliant, antioxidant serum (hello, Vitamin C!), and a high-quality moisturizer And of course, don’t forget sunscreen— protecting your skin from UV damage is critical for maintaining your glow.

3 MONTHS PRIOR:

TURN UP THE GLOW

Fast forward three months, and it’s time to start focusing on treatments that will give your skin a luminous, dewy glow—perfect for your big day. My go-to recommendation for brides at this stage is the Hydrafacial with dermaplaning. Hydrafacials are a favorite for a reason— they deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate the skin all in one treatment. Plus, they’re gentle enough to do monthly leading up to your wedding. By combining Hydrafacials with dermaplaning (which removes dead skin and peach fuzz), you’ll ensure your skin is smooth and prepped for flawless makeup application. Trust me—your foundation will glide on like butter, and you’ll have that soft, airbrushed finish in all your wedding photos. If you’re considering Botox or dermal fillers to smooth out fine lines or enhance your facial features, this is the perfect time to schedule them. Botox typically takes a minimum of two weeks to fully settle in, and fillers need some time to reduce any swelling, so planning these treatments six weeks out ensures a natural, refreshed look without the rushed feeling.

1 MONTH PRIOR:

RELAX AND FOCUS ON SELF CARE

At the one-month mark, your skin should be in great shape, but don’t let stress undo all your hard work! Stress is one of the biggest skin saboteurs. It can lead to breakouts, redness, and irritation—all things we definitely want to avoid right before your wedding.

The best thing you can do during this time is to pamper yourself. Stick to the treatments that are already working, like your Hydrafacials, but avoid trying anything new. Now isn’t the time for experimentation! Instead, indulge in self-care like a relaxing massage, meditation, or even a cozy evening at home with a good book. Keeping your stress levels in check will help prevent any unwanted flare-ups.

BRIDAL BEAUTY DOS AND DON’TS

To keep your skin on track, here are some essential dos and don’ts for your wedding skincare prep:

• Do: Start treatments like microneedling, Botox, or fillers early enough to see full results by your wedding.

• Do: Stick to a consistent skincare routine using medical-grade products tailored to your skin type.

• Do: Hydrate! Drinking water is crucial for plump, glowing skin.

• Don’t: Introduce any new skincare products or treatments in the last month before your wedding.

• Don’t: Over-exfoliate or use harsh products that could irritate your skin.

• Don’t: Neglect your body! Remember, glowing skin isn’t just about your face. Exfoliate, moisturize, and hydrate your entire body so you’ll feel confident in your dress.

BONUS TIPS FOR THE BIG DAY

The day has finally arrived, and all eyes are on you! You’ve followed the timeline, prepped your skin, and now it’s time to enjoy the moment. To keep your skin hydrated and glowing, use a hydrating mist before makeup. Choose a lightweight, long-lasting foundation that won’t cake up, and keep blotting papers on hand to control shine throughout the day.

Oh, and one last thing—don’t forget to smile. There’s nothing more beautiful than a bride who feels confident, happy, and radiant from the inside out!

EMBRACE THE JOURNEY

Your wedding day is one of the most special moments of your life, and you deserve to feel absolutely stunning. Beautiful skin is the result of thoughtful planning, so start early, stay consistent, and enjoy the pampering process! Whether you’re prepping with microneedling, indulging in Hydrafacials, or simply sticking to your skincare routine, every step of this journey will bring you closer to your dream bridal look. Most importantly, remember that this is your time to shine—embrace it! The effort you put into your skin will pay off, not only on your wedding day but for years to come. After all, beautiful skin is always in style!

PETERSON,

6 MONTHS PRIOR:

HAVE THE MONEY TALK

Time to lay it all out—income, debt, spending habits, and your big dreams! Create a joint budget that works for both of you. Check credit reports now—fix any surprises before they become problems. Prenup? If you’ve got kids, assets, or a business, this is your safety net.

SET YOUR WEDDING BUDGET

Ensure your costs align with savings for your fairy-tale wedding! Pro-tip: Set a max budget and stick to it—no last-minute splurges!

SHOP FOR HEALTH INSURANCE

Will one of you join the other’s employer-sponsored plan?

If not, explore individual health plans early. Marriage is a qualifying event to elect health insurance. It’s important to note that most health plans require enrollment within 30-60 days of marriage.

4 MONTHS PRIOR:

MEET WITH A FINANCIAL PLANNER

Even a one-time session with an expert can help map out your savings, retirement goals, insurance needs, and investments! Discuss a possible joint bank account, and secure your Term Life Insurance to protect each other financially. Rates are better while you’re young and healthy!

2 MONTHS PRIOR:

UPDATE BENEFICIARIES

Bank accounts, life insurance, utilities—make sure everything reflects your new status.

TAX FILING STRATEGY

Married filing jointly? Separately? A quick chat with a tax pro could save you thousands. Don’t leave money on the table!

30 DAYS AFTER YOUR WEDDING:

UPDATE LEGAL DOCUMENTS

New name? New game! If you’re changing your name or address, attack that paperwork fast. DMV, Social Security, passports—check them all off!

WILLS & POWERS OF ATTORNEY

No will? Protect each other legally and financially with updated estate documents— especially with kids or property. Estate planning isn’t morbid. It’s power!

GET EXPERT GUIDANCE

Your marriage is a partnership—financially, emotionally, and strategically. Don’t navigate it alone. These local experts specialize in helping newlyweds make confident, informed decisions about insurance, taxes, and planning their financial future together. Start strong, stay smart, and build a future that’s unshakable!

YOUR WEDDING CHECKLIST

BROOKE FLEMING,

UNBRIDALED WEDDINGS

You’re engaged! Congratulations! I want you to keep that excited feeling all throughout the planning process, so I’ve created the below list to keep those stressed feelings at bay. Just trust the process, and enjoy this time because you will be saying “I do” before you know it! Don’t let the timing on this guide intimidate you. This schedule can be stretched out or expedited to meet your needs. Now, let’s plan your wedding!

12-9 MONTHS PRIOR:

 DETERMINE YOUR BUDGET

Once you know what you want to spend, you can determine what’s most important to you. Assigning percentages of your budget based on priorities will help you decide what to spend in each category.

 START YOUR VISION BOARD

This step doesn’t need to be complicated. Just start a shared Pinterest board with your fiance and start throwing on anything that speaks to you. The vision will start to become clear, so have fun with it!

 HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER

If it makes sense for your budget, find a planner that you connect with. They will help you get a more realistic feel for what vendors charge. They can also help you pull together a cohesive design from your Pinterest board! If you don’t want to go with a planner, ask one of your recently married friends out to lunch so you can pick their brain about their experience!

 MAKE A GUEST LIST

Once you know how many people you can invite, then you can find the perfect location to accommodate your numbers.

 TOUR VENUES

Take into account what rentals are included, which have exclusive vendor lists, and how many guests each can accommodate. Pay special attention to things like parking, general accessibility and bathroom locations.

 CHOOSE YOUR VIBES

Have a conversation with your fiance about what is really important to you. What do you want this day to feel like? How does this impact your budget and which venue checks these boxes?

 BOOK YOUR VENUE

Yay! You’ve got your venue, so let’s start finding your vendors!

 BUY WEDDING INSURANCE

Make sure you are purchasing insurance at the level required by your venue.

 BOOK YOUR CATERER/BAR

Ask for pricing information (pay special attention to service fees and gratuity), read reviews and book tastings when you can! Caterers get booked quickly, so the sooner the better!

 BOOK YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER & VIDEOGRAPHER

Ask them for full galleries so you can see how they photograph in different lighting situations. Also consider timing limits, travel fees and what’s included in their packages. Remember that this person will be with you almost all day, so make sure your personalities jive too!

 BOOK YOUR FLORIST & RENTALS

Knowing what you are willing to spend is helpful, but if you don’t know your floral/ rental budget, your vendor can give you what I call the “full fantasy” option. Then you can work together to get it where it needs to be. If you need to book a tent/ tables/chairs for your wedding, be sure to consider those too. You may also need to bring in a lighting or sound designer, based on your venue so keep that in mind, too!

 BOOK YOUR ENTERTAINMENT

Ask your planner and other vendors who they recommend. They all work together and will have great insight!

 START WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING

The sooner you find the perfect dress, the longer you have to get it altered. If you’re intimidated (totally get it!), maybe schedule an initial try-on by yourself or with a friend. Try to have your dress purchased by 9 months out, if possible.

 RESERVE HOTEL ROOM BLOCKS

I recommend giving guests at least two options in different price ranges - if you want to have a block at a fancy hotel, make sure you have a budget-friendly option, too.

 BUILD YOUR WEDDING WEBSITE

Include your room block info, registry, and all other pertinent information.

 TAKE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

These will be so cute on your Save-theDates!

 START WORKING ON INVITATIONS

Always a good idea to start looking into this early, in case you decide you want to get a custom design.

 SEND SAVE-THE-DATES

If your wedding requires your guests to travel, the sooner you send these out the better. Including a QR code to your website is always helpful!

8-6 MONTHS PRIOR:

 SELECT YOUR BRIDESMAIDS/ GROOMSMEN ATTIRE

Once you have your crew onboard, start nailing down what you want them to wear so everyone has time to get their orders in and alterations completed.

 BOOK THE REHEARSAL VENUE

This is traditionally booked by the groom’s family, so make sure everyone knows who is doing what early to avoid any awkwardness or confusion.

 BOOK YOUR GLAM SQUAD

If you want to do trials with a few different artists before deciding, just account for that in your budget so it doesn’t become stressful for you.

 SECURE WEDDING INVITATIONS

Choosing now will give you plenty of time for a reprint, if something were to happen to the first batch!

 ACCOUNT FOR ALL RENTAL ITEMS

Keeping a master list of what each vendor is bringing will help to make sure all linens, chairs, furniture, etc are accounted for.

 HIRE YOUR OFFICIANT

If this is someone that you don’t know personally, make sure they understand the vibe you want at the ceremony.

 TRANSPORTATION NEEDS

Always remember that if you transport your guests to your wedding venue, you need to have a plan for getting them back to their cars. This is also the time to consider whether you also want to book transportation (exit vehicle, etc.)

 BOOK THE HONEYMOON

Take a fun break from the wedding planning to get your romantic getaway booked!

 GROOM’S TUX FITTING

Whether buying or renting, be sure to give yourself plenty of time for alterations.

 BOOK YOUR WEDDING CAKE

Have a few tastings before you decide.

 WEDDING NAIL TRIALS

If you have a few ideas for your wedding nails, try out a different one at each of your appointments leading up to the wedding!

5-3 MONTHS PRIOR:

 SECURE YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE

In Florida, you can get the 3-day waiting period waived if you do premarital counseling, and you’ll also get a discount on the fee. Start making your plan now!

 BOOK YOUR FINAL TASTING

If you don’t love something you try, let them know! They will be so glad to know they are making exactly what you want.

 BUY YOUR WEDDING BANDS

Make sure you like the way yours fits with your engagement ring!

 SECURE BRIDAL PARTY OUTFITS

Never a bad idea to check in!

 FINAL HAIR & MAKEUP TRIAL

This is your chance to speak up if you want something to change something. Vendors will always value your honesty!

 RE-EVALUATE BUDGET

Are there items you weren’t sure if you’d have the budget left over for? Whether it’s favors or a photobooth, evaluate whether your budget can support adding it on.

 START YOUR VOWS

I recommend having a note on your phone so you can start adding thoughts to it as they come to you! This will help to circumvent overwhelm later.

 PREPARE INVITATIONS

If you are having a destination wedding, consider sending them 3-4 months out. If not, 2-3 months gives you plenty of time.

 SELECT READINGS FOR CEREMONY

If you have family members or friends you would like to read at your wedding, be sure to let them know around this time so they have time to prepare.

 FIRST WEDDING DRESS FITTING

You want to schedule this 3 months out, so you have plenty of time to get it just right.

2

MONTHS PRIOR:

 SCHEDULE RSVP REMINDERS

This will help you do the outreach needed to have your full guest list by 30 days out.

 SEND REHEARSAL INVITATIONS

If they are not included with your invitation suite, be sure to send them out now.

 SECOND WEDDING DRESS FITTING

Schedule this about 6 weeks out, and purchase the proper undergarments.

 FINALIZE FLORAL/RENTAL ORDER

You can generally adjust guest numbers up to 30 days out, but check now to make sure.

 MARRIAGE LICENSE APPOINTMENT

Schedule now to save yourself the stress.

 SONG SELECTIONS/PLAYLISTS

Send to your entertainers, and don’t forget to make your Do Not Play list, too!

 START BREAKING IN YOUR SHOES

This goes for bride and groom. Don’t be uncomfortable on your happy day!

 SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENTS

Manicure, Pedicure, Spray Tan, Massage - go ahead and get them on the calendar!

 SHARE MASTER TIMELINE WITH YOUR PLANNER/PHOTOGRAPHER

Make sure the timeline works for you.

1

MONTH PRIOR:

 THINK ABOUT THE SMALL THINGS

Do you still need a cake topper? Cake cutters? Champagne glasses for toasts? A card box? This is the time to take inventory!

 WELCOME OR GIFT BAGS

Check to see if your hotel can distribute them for you!

 FINAL GUEST COUNT

Be sure to get this number to Caterer, Bar, Florist, Venue and Rental company.

 MAKE FINAL VENDOR PAYMENTS

Everyone has their own schedules, but most require that final payment 30 days out.

 FINALIZE SEATING CHART

Include any dietary restrictions to the caterers. Make sure you have any necessary seating chart signs or place cards, as well.

 FINAL VENUE WALK THROUGH Come prepared with any and all questions!

1 WEEK PRIOR:

 PACK YOUR WEDDING DAY BAG

Create a checklist and pack your bag early!

 MAKE YOUR MINI SCHEDULES

I always make mini schedules for bridal party and family that only shows exactly when and where they need to be day-of.

 FINAL DRESS FITTING

If you have a complicated bustle, take a video of how it works to show whoever is helping you dress on the wedding day!

 PACK YOUR DETAILS FOR PHOTOS

Try to keep all of the details you want in your photos in one place to make it easier for your photographer.

1 DAY PRIOR:

 YOU MADE IT!

Take a deep breath and remind yourself what is most important!

 STAY HYDRATED

Don’t go too hard on the champagne while you’re getting ready.

 KEEP HEALTHY

Get a good night’s sleep and eat regular meals!

 DRESS & VEIL

Take your dress and veil out of the bag the day before, if possible. Don’t forget your steamer!

 EAT, DRINK AND BE MARRIED!

THE BEST WAY TO THANK YOUR WEDDING TEAM

Calling all engaged people who are meeting vendors, securing packages, and loving the services you are receiving: have you left those vendors a review? Chances are, the reviews you received impacted who you selected to be part of your wedding team. Your vendors rely largely on the experience and recommendations of their previous clients. Your unique team of wedding vendors thoroughly enjoy being part of your love story & adding to the wedding day magic. And the best thank you that you could give is a review for future couples to see!
