NEW STUDENT RECREATION & CONVOCATION CENTER
The new Student Recreation & Convocation Center will be a reality in late 2011 as part of the Coastal Carolina University landscape. The 130,160-square foot building will enhance the overall experience of all students at Coastal.
The Convocation Center will seat more than 3,600 for basketball and volleyball matches and more than 4,000 for graduation and other special events. It will also house offices and locker rooms for the men’s basketball, women’s basketball and volleyball programs and have three practice courts on the main floor.
The Recreation Center will include an indoor running track, climbing wall, multipurpose rooms, weight area, cardiovascular areas and locker rooms. The building will also be the new home to the University Bookstore.
