To begin understanding GNM, it helps to understand how Dr. Hamer's tragedy led to his medical discoveries and the 5 biological laws of nature.

Dr Hamer was a traditionally trained medical physician. In 1979, he was working as the head internist in a cancer clinic at the University of Munich. He got a phone call that his 17 year old son, Dirk, was accidentally shot while on vacation.

A few months after his son’s passing, Dr. Hamer was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Now, Dr. Hamer was a smart, healthy innovative doctor and he connected that his cancer had something to do with the trauma of losing his son. He began interviewing his patients with the same type of cancer. He found that every single one of the patients had some sort of trauma or distressing event prior to their cancer diagnosis.

Furthermore, he saw a pattern with the perceived conflicts by his patients and their specific cancer diagnosis. Working off of the premise that the brain controls the body, Dr Hamer began CT scanning the brains of his patients.

By pairing the story of the patient (emotional trauma) with the type of cancer diagnosis, the CT scans further revealed a concentric circle with a specific pattern at a specific part of the brain. In other words- all of the patients with the same kind of emotional distressing trauma, had the same cancer diagnosis and showed the same spherical activity within the brain, at the same spot in a CT scan.

There were no exceptions to this. It was true in 100% of the cases. Dr. Hamer linked together an entire science of what specific cancers were shown in which part of the brain and triggered by specific emotional biological conflicts.

Furthermore, he expanded his findings into a library of biological conflicts and associated conditions, with a foundation known as the 5 biological laws of nature.

What is so different with German New Medicine ?

Science understands emotional trauma can cause disease, BUT it does not understand how the CONTENT of the trauma causes SPECIFIC health conditions.

This is where GNM is innovating

GNM is the missing link to understanding how the mind affects the body.

Your psyche (unconscious mind & integral part of the body), cohesively works together with the brain and organs as a group. The brain being the messenger and mediator between the psyche and the organ. Your body follows your mind. GNM is the science of how physical changes in the body start first in the mind (or psyche).

The core idea of GNM is that traumas cause the body to respond in primal ways to help us survive. In other words, symptoms that we think of as disease are often attempts by the body to help us.

This includes joint pain, headaches, autoimmune disorders, infections, allergies and even cancer. Each symptom relates to a particular trauma.

Depending on where the conflict is subjectively perceived at the level of the psyche, the brain will send signals for a biological response to the corresponding organ to begin either enhancing cell production or cell reduction.

There are two possible phases for each trauma Dr. Hamer made the significant discovery that there are two possible phases for each trauma.

The stress phase (conflict active, highly sympathetic 'fight or flight'). This is when we are still shocked by an event. Our body is physically adapting and changing, making meaningful adaptations trying to 'fix' the conflict. During this phase, 80% of the time there are no symptoms. You might actually feel pretty good because of the surge in cortisol and adrenalin. You might experience cold hands & feet, disrupted sleep patterns, appetite suppressed or you keep ruminating over the event.

Once the conflict is resolved at the level of the psyche, we go into the second phase known as the healing phase (long deep periods of parasympathetic 'rest & digest'). The body is repairing itself from the changes that occurred during the conflict active phase. This is where most symptoms are felt. You may feel hot, pain, feverish, migraine, sweaty, exhaustion, appetite returns, swelling, bleeding...

Some traumas are never resolved over a lifetime, only suppressed or managed.

How do we assist in healing conditions?

First, we associate each symptom with specific responses to trauma, not the type of trauma itself. We look for the emotional response, i.e. fear, anger, rejection etc. and the mental thoughts about the event, i.e. “I am worthless”, "I am not strong enough," "I can't keep up," " I am not supported," rather than the fact that you may have experienced a marriage separation, an accident or another traumatic shock.

For example, shoulder pain is a Relationship Self Devaluation.

Feelings associated are having failed as a parent, child, colleague/friend. Also, feelings of guilt or blaming ones self.

Secondly, we determine whether the person is in the stress or healing phase by their symptoms. If they are in the stress phase, we need to help them identify and resolve their shock at the level of the psyche. If they are in the healing phase, we need to educate them about the predicted course of symptoms they may experience and help them navigate through them.

GNM can be effectively combined with other therapeutic tools once we understand how the body and mind are attempting to help us. We can either support these attempts or moderate them, to better manage the healing phase.

“Genetics loads the gun but the environment pulls the trigger” GNM takes an epigenetic approach, rather than a genetic's "set in stone," "mistakes in DNA replications," or "defective genes" perspective. Studies in the science of Epigenetics show that genes are by no means 'set in stone' but that they can alter themselves in response to a person's environment. In short, the DNA and thus the biology of an organism are constantly adjusting themselves to signals from outside the cells, including energetic information arising from thoughts and beliefs.

Based on this new model, Epigeneticists are of the view that diseases such as cancer are not caused by defective genes, as claimed by mainstream geneticists, but rather by non-genetic factors that alter the expression of genes without changing the DNA sequence. How can German New Medicine help me?

Through conversation, we will identify the exact moment a sudden unexpected event impacted your psyche and started the purposeful biological program to start running in your body, that you are likely feeling as symptoms now. This impact is a result of a subjectively perceived event. Meaning that two people can experience the same stressful event but perceive it in two very different ways, therefore resulting in different physiological adaptations and symptoms.

By identifying the exact event (can be big ie: death or small ie: text message), it will enable your body to complete the biological program. This awareness allows your body to enter the healing process and repair tissues. The biological purpose is for you to be become stronger/fitter/ faster (what ever it might be for that particular organ) for the next time you encounter a similar conflict.

Understanding German New Medicine helps you to see your symptoms from a higher perspective. To understand that your body is not trying to ATTACK itself, you are NOT broken, you are NOT faulty and that you HAVE the ability to heal yourself.

What can GNM help with?

Outside of poisoning, malnutrition or direct physical trauma (hit by bus), any symptoms can be looked at from a GNM perspective. However, the first biological law of nature states there are three criteria's to trauma; Unexpected (caught off guard) Emotional distressing (very personal, subjective to life experiences, beliefs, values etc…)

Isolating (keep to oneself, can't talk about, feeling shameful) Some examples, but not limited to, of what GNM can help with include; -Re-occurring symptoms (every winter you get a skin rash) -Symptoms that seem to have come out of no where (woke up with neck pain, walking and knee 'tweaked') -Injuries that will not heal (beyond the typical healing time) -Food allergies/intolerance -Seasonal allergies -Skin conditions -Acute & Chronic Musculoskeletal/Joint/ Nerve pain -If you have 'tried everything' conventional but nothing seems to help.

How many sessions do I need?

Typically it will only take one session to identify the perceived conflict. Depending on how long you have been conflict active, the healing phase can take longer. This is where further support can be needed.

The intensity of your symptoms is directly proportional to the intensity of the perceived stressful event. This means that if you subjectively perceived an event as moderately stressful, your symptoms are most likely going to be moderate during the healing phase. Conversely, if you perceived an event as highly stressful, the epi-crisis (height of the healing phase) can feel extreme (high fever, migraine, vomiting, seizure, intense pain...).

This is where your awareness and perception can help to downgrade the intensity of the symptoms or shorten the healing phase.

Not everyone is suited for German New Medicine.

Over the years, it has been found that there are certain essential conditions for successfully using GNM Some include: -A solid support team -A clear understanding of German New Medicine. This is not a faith-based system but science -Enough vitality to manage the symptoms that accompany healing.

-A healthy lifestyle to optimize the ability to become well or willingness to cultivate one.

-Time to rest.

-One needs to have a strong sense of responsibility for one’s own health.

-Being willing to ask questions about every detail that is not clear so that there is no conflict or stress about this path.
