With over 1,000 employees in North America and global operations both in Europe, the United States and Mexico, Conesys has recently expanded capacity with a new facility in Tecate, Baja California. Conesys considered not only the cost of labor, but the quality and skill of the workforce available in the region. Tecate is now part of Conesys’ manufacturing division focusing on molding as well as assembly.
QUICK & EASY ACCESS TO U.S. MARKETS Only Minutes from U.S. Commercial Port of Entry “One of the main features that influenced our selection of Tecate for the new facility was its proximity and ease of the closest US border crossing.” Located just minutes south of San Diego County, selecting Tecate as their next facility site put them within minutes of the Otay Mesa commercial border crossing. Proximity to headquarters in Torrance, CA and to major US customers, are the features of the region for the specialized connector manufacturer. Conesys now adds its name to the northern border region’s roster of 60+ aerospace and defense companies, which includes global leaders such as Eaton Aerospace, CUBIC and Lockheed Martin.
NAVIGATING LEGALITIES OF OPERATIONS IN MEXICO How Co-Production International Assisted Conesys with Start Up “There are many differences compared to the U.S. when hiring or operating in Mexico. You have to be sure to have competent help; especially in the early stages to be sure you get your business off on the right foot.” Establishing new operations can be daunting, regardless of the country you choose. Fortunately Mexico’s long existing commercial and economic ties to the United States is reflected in the existing firms whose sole purpose is getting you off on the right foot. CoProduction International worked with Conesys to navigate the legalities of operations in Mexico and handled day-to-day administrative tasks both before and during their new operations.
