Co-Op Arbor Day Event– April 27, 2018

Dawn Redwood– (Metasequoia Glyptostroboides) Is a Coniferous Tree that is fast growing. It is one of the shortest of the redwoods, though it can reach upwards of 200ft. Retail: $15.00 Blue Spruce- (Picea Pungens) is an evergreen conifer with dense horizontal branches. Gets name from the waxy gray-green needles that look blue from a far. Can grow from 49ft to 75ft. Retail: $9.00 Scarlet– Oak (Quercuc Coccinea) This oak tree is valued as a shade tree. Reaching 70 ft. in height with a 50’ spread, it features a rounded full crown. Beautiful autumn color! Retail: $6.00

Quaking Aspen (Populus Tremuloides)The origin of the name, "quaking" lies in the fact that the foliage of aspens shimmers or "quakes" when there is a breeze. Spectacular fall color. Retail: $5.00

Western Red Cedar(Thuja Plicata) An evergreen coniferous tree that is abundant in the Pacific Northwest. This tree is know to be shade tolerant and can reproduce under dense shade. Can get for 213ft to 230ft tall. Retail: $6.00 Silver Maple- ( Acer Saccharinum) is one of the most common trees in America. Will commonly grow anywhere from 5080ft tall. Prefers to be in the sun, but is highly adaptable tree. Retail: $8.00 Eastern White Pine(Pinus Strobus) This tree prefers well drained soil, along with cool, humid climates. Can grow as tall as 230ft. Can grow 3ft per year upto 45 years old. Retail: $6.00

Grand Fir- (Abies Grandis) Can reach 200ft. Has glossy dark green needles. Native to the Northwest. This tree is often planted for commercial Christmas tree plantations. Retail: $6.00


Hungarian Lilac(Syringa Josikaea) This shrub has deep purple, fragrant flowers in narrow 4”-7” clusters. It is considered a late flowering lilac, typically blooming in late May into June.

W. Larix Leptolepis (Japanese larch)

Purple Smoke Bush (Cotinus C. Purpurea) Deep purple leaves which hold color throughout the summer. Economical alternative to more expensive cultivars, these can be potted up for a popular, easy to grow promo item in the GC. The few greenish plants which emerge in our seedling benches are pulled out early, so you're assured of receiving plants with uniform, dark purple leaves. Retail : $12.00

It is a very upright tree with a straight trunk and narrow crown which grows scraggly with age. The dark blue-green compound leaves with a contrasting lighter underside give this tree a beautiful appearance in the wind and contribute to its grace.

May Day Tree (Prunis Padus CVI) ) The May Day Tree 'European Bird Cherry', is one of the first trees to leaf out in spring. European Bird Cherry is generally described as a perennial tree or shrub and has dark-green summer foliage that turns yellow to red in fall. The white flowers are large and fragrant and appear in early May.

The Co-Op Tree Sale will start at 8am sharp on April 27, 2018

This sale is operated on a first come-first serve basis

We are assured by the supplier that with the exception of the Bing Cherry, the trees and shrubs in the flier do not require pollinators

The Co-Op make every effort to have all trees and shrubs in stock on the day of the sale, but we are subject to supplier cancelations

All trees and shrub varieties are hardy for zones 3 & 4.
