Broward Sheriff faces union backlash over deputy firings in Tamarac triple murder case
Tensions are rising between the Broward Sheriff’s Office and its deputies’ union after Sheriff Gregory Tony announced disciplinary action against 10 deputies in connection with a deadly domestic violence case in Tamarac earlier this year. The move follows an internal review into how the department responded to warnings from Mary Catherine Gingles before she, her father, and a neighbor were murdered
The incident occurred on February 16, when 43-year-old Nathan Gingles allegedly violated a restraining order and stormed into his estranged wife’s home on Plum Bay Parkway He fatally shot her father, David Ponzer, in front of their 4-year-old daughter, then followed Mary into a neighbor’s house and killed them both He then took the child to a nearby Walmart, where he was later arrested Records show Mary Gingles had filed for a restraining order and contacted BSO more than a dozen times prior to the killings, warning deputies about her husband’s threats
“He was stalking her to kill her and had a plan to kill her She revealed that to the police department; they did nothing!” said Frank Ponzer, Mary’s uncle
Following an internal affairs investigation, BSO’s professional standards committee recommended eight terminations Sheriff

Mayor proposes shuttering immigrant services office
Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava is proposing the elimination of the county’s Office of New Americans, an agency she once helped establish to support permanent visa holders on their path to U S citizenship
That’s according to budget documents obtained by the Miami Herald through a public-records request
In the 2015-2019 period, Miami-Dade County in Florida was home to 864,800 Caribbean immigrants, the highest share among all U S counties, underlining the broader impact of the proposed cuts on Caribbean Americans
The proposal comes as Miami-Dade faces a projected $402 million deficit in its $3 6 billion general fund budget, which covers key
“We have made difficult choices. We’ve looked across departments to maximize the value of every taxpayer dollar. … Next week we will propose a budget that continues to deliver on the core services that residents need and deserve”
services like policing, jails, parks, and other departments funded primarily through property taxes To close the gap, Levine Cava is preparing a 2026 spending plan that includes cuts, layoffs, and potential fee hikes, the Herald reports The Office of New Americans was created during Levine Cava’s time as a county commissioner and later made a standalone division under the Community Action and Human Services Department after she became mayor in 2020 The office is currently staffed by four people — the same number as in 2022 — and assists legal immigrants with services including legal guidance, citizenship referrals,

Trinidad gov’t to implement tough new measures to tackle crime surge
Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander says Trinidad and Tobago is set to roll out aggressive new crime-fighting initiatives in the coming days, as the government moves to curb the spiraling violence gripping the country
“In the coming week, you will see what we are coming with Some persons may not agree, but then it is done for the citizens of this country to have a better quality of life, a safe and secure environment,” Alexander said Monday, during an appearance on a local television program
The former top police officer, who now serves in the Kamla Persad Bissessar-led administration, acknowledged that the country is in the throes of a serious public safety crisis Since the general election on April 28, more than 80 people have been murdered
“My responsibility as the Homeland Security Minister is to ensure that all my citizens are safe and have a comfortable life,” Alexander said “If there are persons who cannot or bring themselves to the level where they too must understand that they live here, then we must do things to confine them or remove them from among members of the population ”
While specific details remain under wraps, Alexander assured the public that a suite of initiatives aimed at reducing gun violence, murders, and shootings will be implemented shortly He signaled that some elements of the plan may be controversial but insisted they are necessary
“What we intend to do to have that sustainable impact in the first instance is to roll out some of the ideas that we have, some we can say to the members of the public, and some we cannot,” he said, adding that following an upcoming strategy session, he will confer with the Commissioner of Police to determine the next steps
The Minister also announced an enhanced security presence in communi-
ties and around schools, promising that “in the not-too-distant future, you will be able to see police vehicles in every junction, highway, and byway ” He took a swipe at the previous administration, suggesting they hesitated to spend adequately on security: “The former administration would have indicated that it had been spending too much money on crime Still, this administration is sparing no resources to ensure the safety and security of our people ” Alexander also disclosed that he recently held talks with Jamaica’s National Security Minister, Dr. Horace Chang,
“Those determined to flout the law will soon “feel the heavy hands of law enforcement.” – Alexander
Government Summit in Montego Bay The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in crime prevention and information-sharing between the two countries
A release from Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of Homeland Security said both ministers pledged to maintain open communication between their national security agencies and committed to continued collaboration in tackling criminal networks across the region
“The meeting solidified the bonds of friendship between Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica and set the tone for a strengthened partnership on security matters,” the statement read
As crime continues to weigh heavily on the national psyche, Alexander warned that those determined to flout the law will soon “feel the heavy hands of law enforcement ”
UN warns gang violence in Haiti could affect wider Caribbean
Escalating gang violence outside the Haitian capital has left more than 1,000 people dead and forced hundreds of thousands to flee since October 2024, raising serious concerns about regional destabilization, a new UN report warns.
The joint report by the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) and the UN Human Rights Office outlines how violent incidents have sharply increased across the Artibonite and Centre departments in recent months Gangs are extending their reach along key routes in the north and centre, and even toward the Dominican Republic
“Human rights abuses outside Port-auPrince are intensifying in areas of the country where the presence of the State is extremely limited,” said Ulrika Richardson, acting head of BINUH “The international community
must strengthen its support to the authorities, who bear the primary responsibility for protecting the Haitian population ”
From October 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, at least 1,018 people were killed, 213 injured, and 620 abducted in these regions alone, with the nationwide death toll during that period
reaching 4,864, the report says Between 1 January 2025 and 30 June at least 3,141 people were killed
The massacre in Pont Sondé last October, where more than 100 people were killed, marked a grim turning point That violence set off a chain reaction of attacks and mass displacement — including the complete flight of all 100,000 residents from Mirebalais in the Centre department earlier this year
While Haitian authorities have deployed specialized police units and received some support from the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission, their efforts have only marginally slowed gang expansion Limited resources have made it impossible to reclaim full control
The report also documents abuses by selfstyled “self-defence” groups and cases of summary executions by Haitian security forces, targeting suspected gang affiliates
“Caught in the middle of this unending horror story are the Haitian people,” said UN Human Rights Commissioner Volker Türk, “who are at the mercy of horrific violence by
gangs and exposed to human rights violations from the security forces and abuses by the socalled ‘self-defence’ groups ”
The report emphasizes the growing threat of transnational crime, including arms and human trafficking, and calls for urgent action to bolster Haiti’s police force and judiciary
Among its recommendations are:
Adequate resourcing of police operations in line with international human rights law
• Creation of specialized judicial units to tackle corruption and mass crimes, including sexual violence
• Full implementation of the arms embargo
• Continued support for BINUH and strengthening of the MSS mission
The UN says immediate and sustained action is crucial to prevent Haiti’s crisis from further spilling across borders and undermining regional stability
Haiti calls on CARICOM to embrace it as a land of opportunity
President-Counsellor of the Haitian Transitional Presidential Council (TPC), His Excellency Laurent Saint Cyr, has called on CARICOM to embrace Haiti as a land of opportunity
He invited partners to support economic recovery in key sectors such as infrastructure, the green economy, innovation, education and training, cultural tourism, and security, particularly in the greater north and greater south
At the closing press conference on July 8, following the 49th Regular Meeting of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government in Montego Bay, Jamaica, both the Chairman of CARICOM, Prime Minister Andrew Holness of Jamaica, and the President-Counsellor highlighted the critical issues and opportunities facing Haiti
Prime Minister Holness expressed CARICOM’s deep concern over the ongoing situation in the country, stating,
“We continue to be gravely concerned CARICOM has been very vocal in its call for international support and has been working with Haiti to ensure that its needs and concerns are being addressed ”
Mr. Saint Cyr outlined the factors necessary to secure a safe and sustainable future in his country, stating,
“Haiti, today, needs the Region to speak with one voice in defence of security, peace, and sustainable development ” He expressed gratitude to the countries that have already contributed personnel to the Multinational Security Support Mission and those offering training for the Haitian National Police
At the same time, he pleaded for a redoubling of efforts to restore peace and security in Haiti through training, financial assistance, logistical, and technical support
Mr Saint Cyr said that Haiti is also counting on the Community to intensify advocacy with other regional and international partners for rigorous regional cooperation to control the illicit flow of arms and ammunition and combat drug trafficking
“Haiti relies on its friends and international partners, especially within CARICOM, for the restoration of security, the organisation of elections, and long-term support for national reconstruction I welcome the discussions and the shared consensus that Haiti’s security depends on investments including foreign direct investment to address structural causes on insecurity,” he added M r S a i n t C y r r e a ffi r m e d h i s commitment to working alongside his colleagues at the TPC toward a successful transition, noting that Haiti is ready to fully assume its responsibilities, but it will not succeed alone

PM Holness: fly the election gate!
The two major political parties in Jamaica the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and the opposition People’s National Party (PNP) are actively in campaign mode for the next general elections, though an election date has yet to be announced by JLP leader and Prime Minister Andrew Holness As head of government, Holness holds the constitutional authority to set the election date
According to some Jamaicans, “Holness is a stubborn gatekeeper Him refuse to fly the gate and call the election ”
The last Jamaican general elections, which the JLP led by Holness won in a massive landslide (40 seats to the PNP’s 14), were held on September 3, 2020, and the new Parliament was seated on September 15 that year
According to the Jamaican Constitution, Parliament must be dissolved no later than five years after its first sitting following the previous election This means that Parliament must be dissolved by September 15, 2025 The Constitution further states that a general election must be held within three months after Parliament has been dissolved, meaning the latest possible date for the next general election is December 15, 2025
In a court ruling last month, a Jamaican Supreme Court Justice confirmed that the current Parliament “must be dissolved on or before 14 September 2025 ”
Since Jamaica became an independent nation in 1962, most general elections have been held before the anniversary of the previous one Accordingly, political pundits and many Jamaicans are expecting Holness to call the election before September 14 However, the Prime Minister has given no indication of when he plans to do so even though he recently declared that the JLP is in the final phase of campaign mode The JLP’s chairman and general secretary both said as recently as last weekend that the party is fully prepared and ready for elections
The PNP, led by Mark Golding who will be contesting his first general election as party leader has also declared that it is ready and has been actively pressuring Holness to announce the date
According to some political observers, the delay could signal a lack of confidence on Holness’s part in leading the JLP to a third consecutive term They believe he may be waiting until the last possible moment to dissolve Parliament in order to give his government more time to shore up support or introduce voter-friendly policies The PNP has accused Holness of being afraid to call the election, claiming the political tide is now in its favor
The PNP made a strong comeback from its 2020 general election defeat by winning the majority of divisions in a hotly contested local government election in February 2024 That victory gave the party national momentum, with subsequent political polls showing it leading the JLP by as much as 9 percentage points However, in the months since, the JLP has made inroads into the PNP’s gains A poll released last month showed the PNP’s lead had narrowed to 4 percent
Another recent poll revealed that both Holness and Golding have low favorability ratings, though Holness maintains a slight edge over his opponent
The bottom line? The race is tight The polls suggest that the results could go either way, and neither party or party leader has a clear advantage going into the election
One particularly telling figure emerging from the polls is that about 40 percent of
registered voters say they are either undecided or uninterested in voting This spells trouble not only for the JLP, which has held power since 2016, but also for the PNP, which has been campaigning aggressively over the past two years to reclaim government
If either party had managed to inspire genuine enthusiasm, more voters would likely have already made up their minds Perhaps by delaying the announcement, Holness is hoping to buy time to reenergize his base and boost turnout
Whoever wins, it’s critical that the next government enters office with a strong mandate It is politically risky and a shaky foundation for governance when a government is elected by a small share of the electorate
In the meantime, Jamaicans supporters of both the JLP and PNP are busy speculating on when Holness will set the date Hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later, and not one that drags the country into an unnecessarily long campaign
For the sake of Jamaica’s social and economic stability, the election should be held promptly The question of who will govern the country for the next term must be settled soon There are urgent policies that need to be implemented, and political uncertainty should not be allowed to stall the nation’s progress
USCIS signals upcoming changes to immigration fees
U S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced on July 11, 2025, that it will soon implement new fees for certain immigration benefit requests, though specific details remain undisclosed
“USCIS will soon begin to collect new fees for certain immigration benefit requests We will provide details on the implementation of these fee changes in the coming days,” the agency said in a brief statement
While the agency did not confirm whether the fees will increase or decrease, the announcement is widely seen as an indication that higher fees are likely It remains unclear which benefit categories will be affected, and to what extent the fees will change
The timing of this announcement suggests it may be tied to the Big Beautiful Bill, which was signed into law on July 4, 2025 That legislation includes proposals for new changes to immigration fees and aims to update the structure and funding of immigration services
The update comes amid ongoing efforts by USCIS to streamline operations and recover costs after years of budget strain and backlogs. The agency has previously proposed fee increases in certain areas to support case processing and improve service delivery
Further details are expected to be released by USCIS in the coming days
Undocumented immigrants will no longer access certain benefits
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) last week announced it has rescinded a 1998 policy that had allowed undocumented immigrants to access certain taxpayer-funded programs.
The agency says the change restores compliance with federal law and limits those benefits to U S citizens and legal residents
The rollback targets a decades-old interpretation of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA) The 1998 guidance, issued during the Clinton administration, had “improperly extended certain federal public benefits to illegal aliens,” HHS said in a statement on July 10
“For too long, the government has diverted hardworking Americans’ tax dollars to incentivize illegal immigration,” said HHS Secretary Robert F Kennedy, Jr “Today’s action changes that it restores integrity to federal social programs, enforces the rule of law, and protects vital resources for the American people ”
Under the new policy, HHS will apply PRWORA’s original, broader definition of “federal public benefit ” No HHS programs have been formally exempted, and the update applies to programs that serve individuals, households, or families
Programs newly listed under this classification include:
• Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics Community Mental Health Services Block Grant
• Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)
• Head Start – a federal early childhood education program that provides free
preschool, meals, and health services for low-income children ages 0 to 5
• Health Center Program – funds community clinics offering medical, dental, and mental health services, mostly for low-income or uninsured patients
• Health Workforce Programs not otherwise previously covered (including grants, loans, scholarships, payments, and loan repayments)
• Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Treatment, Prevention, and Recovery Support Services Programs administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
• Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness Grant Program
• Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant
• Title IV-E Educational and Training Voucher Program
• Title IV-E Kinship Guardianship Assistance Program
• Title IV-E Prevention Services
Program
• Title X Family Planning Program
HHS noted that the above list is not exhaustive and that any additional programs determined to be federal public benefits will be announced in programspecific guidance
The policy change aligns with longstanding Congressional intent and recent Executive Orders by President Trump, including Executive Order 14218 of February 19, 2025, titled “Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Open Borders ” The update does not alter funding levels but ensures that public resources are no longer used to incentivize illegal immigration
The revised policy takes effect immediately upon publication in the Federal Register and includes a 30-day comment period HHS will issue further guidance to affected programs to ensure full implementation

Miami voters to decide on lifetime term limits for officials
Voters in the City of Miami will weigh in this November on two key charter amendments: one establishing lifetime term limits for elected officials and another creating a citizens’ redistricting committee
The proposed term limits measure, championed by civic activist Damian Pardo, would cap service at two terms as mayor and two terms as commissioner, for life However, an exception would apply for individuals elected to fill a vacancy such as Commissioner Ralph Rosado, who won a special election to succeed the late Manolo Reyes—as opposed to those who were appointed
“We wanted to make running a good thing and give an incentive and make appointing not such a good thing, so if you are appointed, you actually lose part of your term,” said Pardo “The concept is all about equity, fairness and democracy ”
“So-called lobbyists, they don’t have term limits, so they are going to be the ones who are here, year after year after year,” said Carollo Pardo countered, “Well if anything, when term limits come, lobbyists lose engagement and power because now they have a new elected, so those existing relationships don’t continue ”
King also raised concerns: “What if the voters want to bring someone back? That’s their choice ” Pardo responded, “What voters will be deciding is that they are agreeing with the majority of this commission, that we should limit power and provide more opportunity for those who want to serve ”

However, the office is now on the chopping block as part of a broader restructuring of the county’s social services Community Action is set to merge with the Juvenile Services Department to form a new Community Services Department Levine Cava is also proposing to cut or defund several other initiatives she championed, including:
But the idea wasn’t without opposition
Chairwoman Christine King and Vice Chair Joe Carollo were the only two city commissioners to vote against placing the amendment on the ballot
The proposal drew support from several members of the public during comment Miami resident Rick Madan said, “Term limits always bring fresh ideas. There are so many good people in Miami who would like to participate, but running against an incumbent in low voter turnout elections is not going to happen, so term limits need to be instituted ”
A motion by King to defer the item failed, clearing the way for it to appear on the November ballot
Also headed to voters this fall is a charter amendment related to redistricting, the result of a settlement in a lawsuit that alleged the city engaged in racial gerrymandering
Teen arrested for bomb threat on Spirit Airlines flight in Fort Lauderdale
A 16-year-old boy from Missouri was arrested Monday after allegedly making a bomb threat on a Spirit Airlines flight scheduled to depart Fort LauderdaleHollywood International Airport, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office
The incident occurred around 3:15 p m on Spirit Airlines flight 1332, which was set to travel to Missouri Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office Airport District responded to the bomb threat and quickly took the teen into custody

Spirit Airlines confirmed that the aircraft was moved to a remote location on the airfield, and all passengers were safely
deplaned while law enforcement conducted an inspection and cleared the plane
At a juvenile court hearing Tuesday, the teen’s father, Phillip Schmidt, urged the judge for compassion “I don’t believe he acted criminally He was acting as an immature 16year-old in my opinion,” Schmidt said

Tony added two more names to that list, bringing the total to 10 employees who now face being fired An additional nine members of the agency have been recommended for suspension
“This death is on my watch,” Tony said at a news conference “I’m the sheriff of this county I’m responsible ”
The decision has drawn criticism from the Broward Deputy Sheriffs Association President Dan Rakofsky said while the murders revealed serious problems within the department, firing long-serving employees was not the solution
“This is a tragic and heinous premeditated murder, and our employees did everything they could that day, to their knowledge,” Rakofsky told 7News “Instead of correcting those areas, decisions are made to terminate people long-standing, dedicated public servants ”
In a statement, the union called the firings “excessive” and accused the Sheriff of using the employees as “political cover ”
“These excessive punishments demonstrate an overreaction by the Sheriff, where gaps in the agency ’ s capabilities have been exposed, along with many systemic and institutional processes in need of better oversight and/or revision Employees who have dedicated their lives to protecting this community throughout their police careers have been sacrificed as political cover for the failures of the systems and processes of the agency at large This is an overreaction for public effect that does nothing to prevent the next tragedy The termination of many of these heroes does nothing to make the people of Broward County safer,” the statement said
BSO said the internal investigation remains active and that no additional information can be shared at this time
The 10 employees recommended for termination are entitled to a hearing. Those proceedings are expected to begin in the coming weeks

After Sabina collapse, West Indies call legends to lead revival
In the wake of what has been called one of the darkest days in West Indies cricket history, Cricket West Indies (CWI) President Dr Kishore Shallow has turned to the giants of the game to help steer the team out of a deepening crisis
The move comes less than 48 hours after the West Indies were bowled out for a humiliating 27 runs the lowest Test total in 70 years and the second lowest in the format’s history during the final Test against world number one Australia at Sabina Park
Following the 3-0 series sweep by the Australians, Shallow announced that CWI has formally invited Sir Clive Lloyd, Sir Vivian Richards, and Brian Lara to join the Cricket Strategy and Officiating Committee, an influential body tasked with charting a path forward for Caribbean cricket
“These are not symbolic gestures,” Dr Shallow emphasized “This engagement is not ceremonial These are men who helped define our golden eras, and their perspectives will be invaluable as we shape the next phase of our cricket development We intend for this gathering to result in tangible, actionable recommendations ”
The appointment of these icons to the committee is seen as a deliberate, strategic move to leverage the experience and wisdom of players who once embodied West Indian cricket dominance
“They will join past greats Dr Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dr The Most Honourable Desmond Haynes, and Ian Bradshaw, who already serve on the committee,” Shallow said
Each of the invited legends brings an unmatched pedigree
Sir Clive Lloyd captained the side during its golden era and lifted the 1975 and 1979 World Cups
Sir Vivian Richards struck fear into bowlers with his fearless batting, becoming a global icon of the game
Brian Lara, widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in history, still holds the world record for the highest individual Test score 400 not out, achieved over two decades ago
Collectively, the trio amassed over 28,000 international runs, and their presence signals a serious effort to reignite the flame that once made West Indies a cricketing powerhouse
A call for unity amid crisis
While acknowledging the painful reality of recent performances, Dr Shallow urged for solidarity rather than division:
“Consistent with my message over the last weeks, this is a moment that calls for collaboration, not division We need everyone on-board: fans, players, coaches, legends, and administrators, if we are to truly move forward ”
The Sabina Park collapse is now etched into history not only as a
Jelanie Morgan, son of Gramps Morgan, aims for Jamaica’s national basketball team
Jamaican-born shooting guard Jelanie Morgan, a junior at Lesley University in Massachusetts, is back on the island with a dream: to represent his country on the international basketball stage
Morgan, who comes from the renowned Morgan Heritage musical family, is currently vying for a spot on the Jamaican national men ’ s team ahead of the FIBA Americas Men’s World Cup Qualifiers in Mexico this August Morgan, who stands at 6 feet 4 inches, trained with the national squad at the National Stadium on July 5 and 6, participating in player evaluations, shooting drills, and scrimmages “Being able to try out for the national team for a chance to represent my country is a dream come true for me I have been working on it for a while now, and to see it come together is surreal,” he told the Jamaica Observer
More than just a player, Morgan views himself as a cultural ambassador for Jamaica on and off the court He says his mission is to help put Jamaica on the global basketball map while also inspiring a new generation of Jamaican athletes to dream bigger, train harder, and believe they can make their mark internationally, just as his musical family has done in reggae music
Beyond basketball, Morgan is passionate about mentorship and community upliftment, often engaging with younger players and advocating for discipline, education, and cultural pride. He believes that sport can be a powerful tool for connection and change, not only in Jamaica but across the world
Jelanie Morgan is one of several college and professional players hoping to secure a spot on the national squad So far, he has played 26 games for Lesley University in the NCAA, compiling 225 minutes and 35 points
statistical embarrassment but as a call to arms Shallow believes that the solution lies not in blame, but in collective resolve
Despite the glaring setbacks, Shallow continues to express belief in the talent and potential of the team particularly the younger generation
“While disappointment is natural, we must not allow this moment to define our journey,” he said
“We are in a rebuilding phase, steadily investing in the next generation, and reigniting the spirit that has long made West Indies cricket a force in the world ”
The president also acknowledged the green shoots of promise, especially in the bowling department, but emphasized that the batters must now rise to the occasion with renewed focus and application
“Progress is rarely straightforward It takes time, perseverance, and belief, especially in our most difficult moments The road ahead will test us, but I have faith in the talent and commitment of our players when they apply themselves ”
In a final plea to supporters across the Caribbean, Dr Shallow’s message was as much about cricket as it was about identity and resilience
“Now is not the time to turn away Now is the time to stand even closer as a people These are the moments that shape us ”
With legends returning to the fold, Cricket West Indies is betting on its history to rewrite its future The question now is whether a wounded giant can rise again and how long it will take for the echoes of Sabina to become fuel for redemption rather than reminders of failure

turning, high-end look that could easily be mistaken for a million-dollar fit But with all that fashion firepower, one question lingered: Which performer really took the crown for best dressed?
Opinions vary, but one voice stood out Sherry South Tyme, popular vlogger and host of Jairie Radio in New York A fashionista in her own right, she weighed in on Facebook with a verdict that turned heads:
“Sparks, sequins, and shimmery everything were the order of the night From legends to new-gen stars, the artistes showed up and showed out ”
About Bounty Killer, she gushed:
“The man of the hour! He stepped out in a commanding all-black ensemble, elevated with a gold-and-black statement jacket and topped off with a widebrimmed black fedora Iconic presence Iconic style No question he owned the stage ”
She also applauded Dexta Daps, Wilful Skilful, Elephant Man, and I-Octane for their silver-and-black fits:
“It was a night for bold choices, and these kings understood the assignment,” she said
But when it came to fashion’s top prize, Sherry didn’t hesitate:
“Hands down, the night belonged to Richie Stephens Though introduced as ‘Richard’ (yes, some folks were confused), once he hit the stage, there was no mistaking him Every detail was on point He understood the assignment and then rewrote the rubric
”
So, while the music rocked Brooklyn, one thing was clear: Dancehall came dressed to impress Guess Mr Wack was right Style a style and style caan spoil
