Well my sources tell me that the newest commissioner over there, Valerie, what’s her name, wants the police chief, the city attorney, the head of the parks and recreation

dept and the city manager gone and the sooner the better. Can’t figure out why she is having a problem getting it done, but I’ll betcha that her colleagues that were elected by the same bunch of voters don’t, at least at this point, see things the way she does. Well, time of course will tell, and it’s just a matter of who outlasts whom. And speaking of Valerie, the written report of her shenanigans over at city hall has been sent over to the ethics commission. This little matter had to do with the way she was running around city hall, allegedly barking out orders to employees and some other real juicy stuff. She must have forgotten that the city manager runs the city and that the commission sets policy and doesn’t deal directly with employees. Ooops, she’s new and maybe she didn’t remember that city hall is not hers. What a shock, seeing the news report about South Miami Commissioner Jay Beckman’s sudden death and the circumstances surrounding it. Jay was one of those people that everybody had an opinion about, pro or con, and his passion about this city fueled his efforts to make an impact here, and make an impact he did. We are saddened by his passing. One city commissioner, whose name
JAY BECKMAN
we will keep secret, has successfully avoided a process server who has been trying to serve them with a foreclosure notice, will be lucky if the they don’t get served right there at city hall, right at commission meeting, right there on Channel 77 for all to see. Received a real obnoxious email from someone who will remain nameless at this point. She complained that we should investigate stuff going on at city hall and that “it’s time to clean up city hall” and some other mumbo jumbo and that she might contact the Coral Gables Gazette and the “Neighbors” section of The Herald. When I gave her the phone number of those two publications, she came back with some ranting and raving about me going to her wedding years ago and that I wasn’t even invited and then she started up about how Mayor Feliu did this and did that. It was a general tirade that was just so indicative of what goes on between those two little ears of hers and it really was quite humorous reading her well thought out blabberings, and I learned that I wasn’t the only one that writes on and on about things that so few really care about. In her desire to make a difference she made sure that all her friends received copies of her emails and almost instantly two of the people said “take me off your list.” Interesting enough, a Herald reporter requested to STAY ON, and yes,

stay on, but don’t send it to her at the Herald, but at her private email address. And by the way Missy, I’m one of those people that want to stay on your email list, so keep ‘em coming. And with all her ranting and ravings about the city and how changes need to be made. I can’t help but wonder why she just doesn’t go to all her buddies on the dais (except the Mayor) and ask them to do whatever she wants to have done. Hey, I got a great idea; maybe she should run for office. Then she could finally get to the top. Think about it, one day, instead of her trying to be a king maker, she could become King. Sorry... she could become Madam Mayor.
