The King Pins Challenge comes Around Town to Splitsville Luxury Lanes Local politics is BY LEE STEPHENS n Sunday, March 22, from 5-8 pm, elected officials and civic and business leaders from the South Miami community will gather on the field known as “Splitsville” – South Miami’s newest and hottest gathering place – to battle for supremacy on the 13 luxury lanes. The King Pins Challenge is an inaugural event to benefit Informed Families/South Miami Drug-Free Coalition, and is co-chaired by State Representative and former South Miami Mayor Julio Robaina, Mayor Horace Feliu, and Mary Scott Russell, former Mayor and President of Chamber South. RSMA meets at Splitsville

so educational! BY MICHAEL MILLER <Michael@communitynewspapers.com> Some folks say that Vice Mayor Beasley has learned some very valuable lessons recently. With packages of pubic documents being sent to investigative agencies about his couple of marriages, his mortgages and his finances surrounding his last election, he is sure to be feeling the heat. But I wonder what lessons he’s learning and I just can’t imagine the stress that he is going through. A couple of weeks ago, he was in Tallahassee trying to defend his financial documents surrounding his 2008 campaign reports and from what our not so reliable sources told me, he was just babbling away, complaining about the local media and what it might do should he be found guilty of

embers of the Red Sunset Merchants Association gathered in Splitsville at the Shops at Sunset for the March 10 meeting. Approximately 40 business men and women attended the regular monthly meeting to network and hear guest speaker Guy Revelle, the co-founder and CEO of Splitsville, who talked about his hopes to stage a big New Year’s Eve party on Sunset Drive less than a year from now.
