INTRODUCTION Shahid Kapoor was born on 25 February 1981 who is an Indian actor who appears in Hindi films. He is cited in the media as one of the most attractive Indian celebrities and Kapoor maintains his popularity despite a fluctuating career trajectory. Initially he is recognized for portraying romantic roles, he has since taken on parts in action films and thrillers.

Shahid Kapoor was born in New Delhi and his parents separated when he was three, and he continued living with his mother. They moved to Mumbai when he was 10, where he joined Shiamak Davar's dance academy and then Shahid Kapoor appeared as a background dancer in a few films of the 1990s, then he was featured in music videos and television commercials. He is married to the homemaker Mira Rajput, with whom he has two children.

Early life Shahid Kapoor was born on 25 February 1981 in New Delhi. His father is Pankaj Kapur (actor) and mother is Neelima Azeem (actor-dancer).

When he was three years old his parents divorced and his father shifted to Mumbai (and married the actress Supriya Pathak) and Kapoor continued living in Delhi with his mother and maternal grandparents. For the Russian magazine Sputnik, his grandparents were journalists. Kapoor was very fond of his grandfather: "He would walk me to school every single day. He would talk to me about dad, with whom he shared a great relationship, and read out his letters to me." His father was then a struggling actor in Mumbai who would visit Kapoor only once a year on his birthday. His mother who was working as a dancer, moved to Mumbai to work as an actress when Kapoor was 10.

In Mumbai, his mother Neelima Azeem went on to marry the actor Rajesh Khattar. Until they separated in 2001, Kapoor continued living with his mother and Khattar. On his passport Shahid Kapoor continues to use the last name Khattar. From his mother's marriage to Khattar he has a maternal half-brother, Ishaan and from his father's marriage to Pathak, he has two paternal half-siblings, Sanah and Ruhaan.

Kapoor was educated at the Gyan Bharati School in Delhi and Rajhans Vidyalaya in Mumbai. He later attended Mumbai's Mithibai College for three years. Kapoor was interested in dance from an early age, and at the age of 15, he joined Shiamak Davar's dance institute. In there, Kapoor appeared as a background dancer in the films Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) as a student and Taal (1999), in which Davar served as choreographer. During a stage show at the institute, Kapoor performed in the songs "Vogue" and "GoldenEye" to a positive response from the audience; he described the experience as the first time that he "felt like a star". He later became an instructor at the institute. During this time, Kapoor and his friend went to an audition for a Pepsi commercial featuring the stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji, but wound up with the part himself. He appeared in television commercials for the brands Kit Kat and Close-Up, among others, and featured in music videos for several performers, including the band Aryans and the singer Kumar Sanu. Kapoor also took on the job of an assistant director to his father on the 1998 television series Mohandas B.A.L.L.B.

EDUCATION

Years (2003 – 2009) In 2003 Shahid Kapoor made his film debut with a leading role in the romantic comedy Ishq Vishk, a super hit movie for which he won a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Before starring in Sooraj Barjatya's top-grossing family drama Vivah in 2006 he followed it with roles in several commercial failures. In 2004 Kapoor was noticed in the Aryans' music video "Aankhon Mein" and the producer Ramesh Taurani was keen to cast him in a film.

Kapoor was 20 years old at the time. Taurani found a suitable project for Kapoor in the teenage romance Ishq Vishk (2003).

In 2006, Kapoor played opposite Kareena Kapoor in two films they are the thriller 36 China Town and the comedy Chup Chup Ke. Kapoor did not find success in his first release of 2007—the ensemble comedy Fool & Final. However, his second release that year, the Imtiaz Ali-directed romantic comedy Jab We Met proved to be one of the top-grossing films of the year. After featuring opposite Vidya Balan in the romantic comedy Kismat Konnection (2008), Kapoor played twin brothers, one with a lisp and the other with a stutter, in Vishal Bhardwaj's critically acclaimed caper thriller Kaminey (2009).

Years (2010 – 2016) Kapoor reteamed with Ken Ghosh in Chance Pe Dance in 2010 which was a comedy-drama about a struggling actor.

He had a supporting role in Paathshaala. Paathshaala was a drama about the education system in India. Kapoor next appeared in his father's directorial Mausam on 2011; costarring Sonam Kapoor, the star-crossed romance set over a decade and took two years to complete.

The following year, Kapoor took on another romantic role in Kunal Kohli's Teri Meri Kahaani (2012), co-starring Priyanka Chopra. The comedy Phata Poster Nikhla Hero was Kapoor's first release of 2013 from director Rajkumar Santoshi. When he starred in Prabhu Deva's action film R...

Kapoor promote Haider in 2014. Kapoor next reunited with director Vishal Bhardwaj to film Haider (2014). After completing the duties of a talent judge on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded, Kapoor appeared opposite Alia Bhatt in Vikas Bahl's Shaandaar in 2015.

Kapoor next took on the role of a drug abusing rock star in Udta Punjab (2016), a crime drama from the director Abhishek Chaubey that documents the substance abuse endemic in the Indian state of Punjab.

Years (2017 – 2019) Kapoor next played Rawal Ratan Singh, a 14thcentury Rajput ruler, in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama Padmaavat (2018), co-starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. In 2019, Kapoor starred in Kabir Singh, a remake of the Telugu romantic drama Arjun Reddy (2017), in which he played a self-destructive alcoholic pining for his ex-girlfriend. He found it challenging to distance himself from the part, and feared bringing home the experience to his wife and children. For scenes in which he played a college student, he lost 14 kg. It earned over ₚ3.7 billion (US$54 million) worldwide to emerge as the second highestgrossing Hindi film of the year and Kapoor's biggest commercial success in which he played the sole male lead. Kapoor has next committed to star in a remake of the Telugu sports drama Jersey.

He is the first Indian actor to fly an American F-16 aircraft.

His film Vivah was a big hit and he got so attached to the cast and crew of the film that he never wanted to leave the sets and it was also the first time that he didn’t want to leave the set.

Shahid and Priyanka Chopra fell off a bike while shooting for a scene for Kaminey, in which the two were riding the bike on a slope and due to mud all around, the bike fell on top of them.
