Hand, a family-oriented event held on Saturday mornings. Hensley provides a morning full of nose-to-beak looks at the area’s native songbirds. Families learn about the science and art of bird banding including a hands-on experience of banding and releasing birds. Wildflower and butterfly identification, as well as astronomy programs and owl prowls are also on the regular programming agenda at the park. Residents can volunteer with the park’s Monarch Research Project, participating in bi-monthly surveys to track the Monarch Butterfly population within the park’s boundaries. And let’s not forget about the fourlegged and feathered friends that share our homes and our hearts. Here in Bulverde-Spring Branch, we’re fortunate to have some of the best in pet care that Texas has to offer. Pet Galaxy is right in our backyard, providing pets with the luxury vacations they deserve, and The Furry Godmother offers in-home care for dogs, cats and other cherished creatures. The Bulverde Area Humane Society and Animal Rescue Connections help match homeless and abandoned pets with new families, and more than 25 pet or animal-associated organizations operate in the area, taking care of anything and everything a pet could need including medical care, pet sitting, grooming, daycare, training, nutrition and other products and services.
