BY MICHELLE WEST There are more than 200 dining options in Allen alone. You’ll find menus featuring classic American fare, Mexican, Asian, Italian, Indian, Mediterranean and much more. If you’re hungry, you’ve come to the right place. If you are in search of Mexican food, your biggest challenge will be narrowing down your options. Delicious and authentic Mexican food abounds. Allen is home to one of the Metroplex’s three Mexi-Go restaurants. This family-owned restaurant chain has been a Dallas area favorite since 1990. It started out as a small taqueria with seating
for only ten customers, but quickly grew to a full-service restaurant at a larger location. A reputation for great food and outstanding service helped owners José and Paula Jaimes expand to two more locations, including the one in Allen. Cafe Del Rio offers delicious Tex-Mex cuisine and a festive atmosphere. The restaurant is famous for its award-winning fajitas. Its signature Café Del Rio Swirl Margarita was voted best Margarita in town. Jalapenos Mexican Grill is a great family dining option. This familyrun restaurant serves a lunch and
dinner menu full of authentic Mexican cuisine choices. If you’re in the mood for Italian food, take a seat at a Brio Tuscan Grill table. The restaurant is located in the upscale Watters Creek Development. The Brio menu takes you on a tour of Italian cuisine, featuring homemade pastas, steaks, chops and flatbreads prepared perfectly in the restaurant’s wood-burning oven Other Italian options include Patrizio and Cane Rosso in Fairview. Patrizio presents a modern twist on traditional Italian fare. Cane Rosso features an authentic menu and is famous for its Napoletana pizzas and other Italian favorites.
