SAVER CARDS IF YOU HAVEN’T HEARD OF OUR PASS, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING? THE NEW BUS PASS THAT GIVES 16-18 YEAR OLDS THE FREEDOM TO TRAVEL, WORK AND LEARN. OUR PASS Our Pass is the new bus pass for 16-18 year olds. It unlocks free bus travel right across Greater Manchester meaning that young people could unlock potential savings of over £500.  Our Pass will cover all local bus services across Greater Manchester.  The card removes the hassle and cost of buying tickets or passes for specific routes and operators.  It’ll not just make getting to school, college, work and training easier, but also going out with friends and exploring Greater Manchester.

A one off £10.00 administration fee available to Greater Manchester residents aged 16-18-year-old are eligible for this new bus pass, which gives students free travel on all local bus services across Greater Manchester.

IF YOU’RE AGED 16 OR 17, YOU CAN NOW ENJOY 50% OFF STANDARD ANYTIME, OFF-PEAK, ADVANCE AND SEASON TICKETS. 16 - 17 SAVER A 16-17 Saver is just £30 and is valid for one year or until your 18th birthday, whichever comes first.

COSTS AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT THERE ARE SEVERAL DIFFERENT KINDS OF SAVER TICKETS AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS AND WE HAVE DETAILED BELOW THE MOST POPULAR ONES. STAGECOACH UNIRIDERS Unirider is a student only bus ticket valid on all Stagecoach and Magic Bus services in Greater Manchester and into the surrounding areas.

They are also valid at weekends and at night and there are no age restrictions but you must show your student photo ID to the driver every time you travel. It can be used between the two dates printed on the ticket by showing it to the driver with your student ID card. You can purchase termly saver tickets from the College.

It may be possible to make savings by purchasing either an annual or a two-term ticket for your smart card.

These are only available online and cannot be bought at the College

Students living more than two miles from the College and who are eligible for the 16-19 Bursary will receive a Stagecoach Unirider or the equivalent value, as part of their bursary allocation.

SCHOLAR’S CONCESSIONARY PASS GREATER MANCHESTER STUDENTS CAN REDUCE THE COST OF BUS TRAVEL BY BUYING A TFGM f SCHOLAR’S PERMIT FOR £5.00, WHICH WILL ENABLE YOU TO TRAVEL AT A REDUCED RATE ON THE SCHOOL’S SERVICES CONTRACTED BUSES AND HALF PRICE ON THE COMMERCIAL BUS JOURNEYS AND THE TRAIN. TfGM Scholar’s Concessionary Permit forms can be picked up from college at enrolment for new students, or at reception for returning students. Please bring a passport sized photograph (signed on the back) and your application form to reception where they will be stamped with the College’s logo.

The form and photographs, together with £5.00 and proof of age (i.e. passport or birth certificate) can be taken to a TfGM Travel Shop or posted to the address below:

You must show your concessionary pass on every journey if you wish to travel for the concessionary fare.

SYSTEM ONE TRAVELCARDS

JUST

STUDENTS WHO USE AN ALTERNATIVE SERVICE, SUCH AS ARRIVA OR A COMBINATION OF STAGECOACH OR OTHER SERVICES CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SYSTEM ONE TRAVEL CARDS. The travelcards enable students to travel with all bus operators in the Greater Manchester System One travel network and can also be used in the evenings and at weekends. Students do not have to live in the Greater Manchester area to apply for the System One pass, but must board the bus within the Greater Manchester area.

YOUNG PERSONS BUS SAVER 7 Young Person Bus Saver 7 will enable students, aged between 16 - 21 to travel anywhere in Greater Manchester for 7 consecutive days, any time of day or night until 4.00am. The cost of the pass is £14.00.

YOUNG PERSON’S BUS SAVER 28 Young Person Bus Saver 28 enables students to travel monthly for a cost of £50.00 or £48.00 when purchased on line.

You can register and apply online via www.tfgm.com by clicking on to System One Travelcards for students or directly from www.systemonetravelcards.co.uk/register. Students are required to submit a digital style passport photograph.

Once a membership photo card has been purchased, weekly and monthly tickets can be renewed at any PayPoint. Promotional Periods can apply, please check their website.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT STUDENTS LIVING MORE THAN 2 MILES FROM COLLEGE WHOSE HOUSEHOLD INCOME IS BELOW £26,000 MAY QUALIFY FOR HELP WITH TRAVEL COSTS FROM THE 16-19 BURSARY FUND, IF THEY CANNOT USE THE FREE COLLEGE BUS SERVICE. If you do not qualify for the 16-19 Bursary, but live a long distance from college and have travel costs greater than £20.00 each week, you can apply for the Travel Bursary.
