WRITING a Will may be something you've been thinking about for many years. The reasons for having a Will are many, but, if for no other reason, a Will makes life a lot easier for those you leave behind at a time of sorrow. If you die without a Will (Intestate), your family has to sort out many administrative items and are obliged to the decisions made by law as to who inherits what, decisions you should have really made by writing a Will.
SO, why do many people put off the task of writing a Will? EXCUSES: there are many excuses for putting off writing a Will. Here are the most common ones: 1. "WRITING A WILL IS TEMPTING FATE": One in three adults in Britain have already written a Will - so, if writing one has fatal results, the population would soon be reduced by 18 million people! In fact, the British annual deathrate is surprisingly stable and definitely bears no relation to the number of people who write Wills. 2. "I'VE GOT NOTHING TO LEAVE": Everybody leaves something. It may not be much, but, surely, that's even more reason to make sure it goes to those you care about? Also, it is not just making sure your worldly goods go to the right
3. "I JUST HAVEN'T GOT ROUND TO IT": This is normally because the job doesn't rate high enough on your list of priorities. If the roof leaks, no matter what you're doing or how tight your finances, you get it fixed fast! We can honestly say that the vast majority of clients feel great after we have written their Wills. We often receive comments, such as "What a relief" or "I've put it off for years, but, at last, I can rest easy."
WHY BOTHER MAKING A WILL? MY FAMILY WILL GET EVERYTHING WHEN I DIE! WON'T THEY?
AS to when you should write a Will, the answer is NOW. There may be plenty of life in you yet, but accidents and illness have absolutely no respect for age. Also, bear in mind that a modern Will is written in such a way that it shouldn't need much changing, so it's not something you have to think about often, but only in the event of a major change in circumstances, such as marriage, birth of a first child or divorce.

Limehouse Lizzy bassist, vocalist and supreme entertainer, Wayne Ellis, is "as close as you can possibly get to the late, great Philip Lynott himself ". This accolade is a tribute to the time, love and sheer determination that Wayne has put into building the band up to the position in which it finds itself today (suitably rewarded in 2001 with the title, 'Live Band of the Year' by Guitarist Magazine).
'Grand' fund-raiser for Cancer Research UK THE splendid amount of ÂŁ1,000 was raised in aid of Cancer Research UK in memory of Jim Barlow, who was Vice-President of Smallthorne Victory Club for approximately three years. Mr. Barlow sadly passed away on Monday, June 24th, 2013, after losing his battle with lung cancer.
However, he is neither a mimic nor an impressionist. A Leo (like Phil himself) Wayne just has that natural charisma and style which Phil once displayed. One critic summed it all up in a live review: "all the time there is Wayne Ellis, the memory of Thin Lizzy will be kept very much alive and well, thank you." Greg Alcock is one-half of Limehouse Lizzy's guitar duo: a 'wah-wah' specialist, he is also a co-founder of the band, along with Wayne, way back in 1993. 'The man at the back', drummer, Lee Morris, was a long-term friend of the band before he joined. He hails from the epicentre of the rock world (Wolverhampton), and has a first-class rock pedigree, having previously occupied the drum-stool for Marshall Law, Paradise Lost and Danny Vaughan amongst others. The band's newest recruit, Tim Read first appeared with Limehouse in 2005, when he stood in for Greg Alcock, becoming a full-time member in January, 2007. Born in Burton-upon-Trent, he took up the guitar in an unusual way (using a right-handed guitar, but playing it left-handed!). Limehouse Lizzy's debut at the New Leek Road club in April, 2013, was a sell-out two months in advance, so please get your tickets early, because another fullhouse is a certainty! City club's charity evening on Sunday, March 2nd SUNDAY, March 2nd, will see members of Smallthorne Pioneer Club busier than ever - thanks to a Charity Night in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Research and the Children's Cancer Ward at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. Lady members are having their heads shaved, while their male counterparts will be enjoying the delights of body-waxing! In addition, a member of the City club will be riding a bike all the way from Blackpool to the Chetwynd Street venue, as part of the effort! "We shall, of course, also be presenting our usual live entertainment by a group and Sunday Night Bingo, and people can also make their personal donations to the two causes on the night," said Smallthorne Pioneer's President, Terry Hopwood. On Wednesday, May 28th, the club will be staging a Charity Evening in support of the County Air Ambulance. The fund-raising evening celebrates the memory of local teenager, 14-years-old, Greg Bradshaw, who died tragically in an accident, while crossing the road, recently. "Greg was a very keen supporter of the cause of the Air Ambulance, so his father, Mark Bradshaw, and I will be putting on a charity evening, featuring live entertainment by bands, as a way of remembering him, and all proceeds will go to the CAA," explained Terry Hopwood, who has also been the club's Concert Secretary since 1986. The completion of yet more refurbishmentprojects means that Bradwell Workingmen's Club has more than ever to offer members and their guests this year. Numerous aspects of the Bradwell Lane club's have benefited, most prominently its newlyenhanced Games Room, which now features a snooker table, pool table and two dartsboards (for Super League and Thursday League games), plus new jukebox, while the walls are pleasingly adorned with numerous sporting photographs. In addition, the Bar has been refurbished, as have the Ladies' Toilets, Lounge and the room used by the local branch of the charitable organisation, 'The Buffs' (Royal Antediluvian of Buffaloes). "The club is doing very nicely," said Bradwell WMC's Secretary, Lesley Hill, with great modesty. Lesley attributes the club's ongoing success to economic good sense and the fact that it benefits from an first-class management committe and very dedicated, "excellent" volunteers, who play a vital role. "It is run on a very tight budget, and we are very lucky to have a brilliant committee which
is second-to-none," explained Lesley, who became Club Secretary just over twelve months ago, in January, 2013. She is joined on the management body by Alan Wildgoose (President), Pauline Johnson (Treasurer), Harvey Hulse (Concert Secretary) and Helen Lawton, David Kiddersley, Graham Johnson, Linda Owen and Yvonne Wright (Committee Members). Each week sees myriad attractions to suit all ages and tastes, with Bingo proving a perennially-popular winner on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, plus, of course, Sunday lunchtime. A favourite for many is the Monday Night Prize Bingo. "Because no cash is involved, Monday evenings are ideal for everyone, featuring excellent prizes for children, as well as adults," explained Lesley.
