It’s always a little wild to get here, but just like that, summer is in the rearview mirror. As fall approaches (Sunday, at the show, if we’re being specific), it’s impossible not to let the cycles of the seasons give way to a moment of pause and reflection.

As I have the honour of kicking off another CHFA NOW event, that pause has me thinking about grit and how it is the greatest predictor of future success.

This industry has grit in spades. Our industry has faced countless headwinds on regulatory issues and yet found the drive to persevere, rise together and fight back (join us for SOS Live if you’re curious about the current state). We are an industry teeming with founders and innovators who believe there is a better path to health, even when others may think we’re out to lunch (take a stroll down Incubator Alley if you want to meet the newest crop of visionaries). We’re an industry that believes in making the country (if not the world!) a healthier place despite the challenges and stressors that modern-day life throws at us (hit up our trends research talk if you want a peek into what’s on Canadian’s minds this year).

All of these elements are cumulative. Each step we take together, each obstacle we overcome, has a compounding effect that adds up to something extraordinary. It’s why these shows are so special.

Coming together each year gives us a chance to view the industry as a whole—to support each other in our successes and difficulties and challenge each other so that we can keep pushing and striving for better.

If grit is what it takes to succeed, then the future is bright for Canada’s natural, organic, and wellness industry. It may not always be smooth sailing, but it’s not about taking easy street. It’s about embracing the work, finding your community, and driving forward even when the going gets tough–as an association, we should know we’ve been at it for 60 years. There’s been some ups, some downs, but we’ve got no desire to slow down and stop championing this incredible industry. Exhibition Place is Canada’s largest entertainment venue and hosts over 5.5 million visitors every year. The venue includes the Enercare Centre, where we’ll be hosting our trade show and the Beanfield Centre, where our conference will take place.

The Enercare Centre features over 1 million square feet of flexible convention space and the Beanfield Centre is an Art Deco masterpiece with lakeside views and state-of-the-art technology.

WHAT DOES MY REGISTRATION INCLUDE?

You have access to the full conference on Friday, September 20 and the trade show on Saturday and Sunday. Some sessions are for CHFA Members only or for specific badge types, which are indicated on the schedule.

CHFA NOW Toronto is held at Exhibition Place in Toronto. Our conference and trade show are located at the following locations at Exhibition Place:

WHO CAN ATTEND THE SHOW?

CHFA NOW is a trade only event open to individuals working in the natural health, wellness, specialty food and organic industries. CHFA trade shows are not open to the general public. All attendees will be required to provide proof that their company is involved in the industry. Acceptable proof include, but are not limited to, a business license, business card, pay stub with photo ID, or health care accreditation. Refer to our Policies for more information.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Online registration closed on August 30 for non-CHFA members. CHFA members can register online until September 18, 2024. All attendees can register onsite from September 19 – September 22, 2024.

Photo ID and proof of employment in the industry is required. Refer to our Policies for acceptable proof.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING IF I ALREADY REGISTERED?

Badge: Badges are non-transferable and must be visible at all times. If you received your badge in the mail, please bring it with you. If it wasn’t mailed to you, print it at home or print it onsite at the self-serve kiosk.

Photo ID: Bring photo ID to pick-up your badge holder. Your ID must match the name on your badge.

CAN I BRING A WHEELED CART/LUGGAGE?

Wheeled carts (including luggage) are not permitted on the show floor. Coat check is available free of charge for attendees to store it while visiting the show.

CAN I SHIP MY SAMPLES HOME?

Yes! We’re partnering with Canpar to help ship your samples home and offering discounts to retailer attendees. Find their booth located at 2600.

CAN I BRING MY CHILD/INFANT?

CHFA encourages a healthy work/ life balance and as such children under the age of 18 are allowed to attend the show, but must be supervised by a guardian at all times. To ensure food safety rules are followed, children may not help themselves to samples. CHFA NOW is a trade event and, as such, a place of business for exhibitors and attendees. If children are disruptive, the parents will be asked to remove them from the show floor. Infants and children under the age of 16 are not permitted within conference sessions. CHFA reserves the right to limit the use of strollers on the trade show floor during peak times if necessary.

IS THERE A NURSING/FAMILY ROOM FOR ME TO FEED AND CHANGE MY BABY?

There are dedicated family/universal rooms located on the show floor and near Entrance Hall C at Enercare Centre as well as on the main floor at the Beanfield Centre. These rooms are indicated on our show maps.

IF I REQUIRE ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS OR MEDICAL EXEMPTIONS, CAN THIS BE ACCOMMODATED?

The Enercare Centre and Beanfield Centre are designed to be an accessible facility, including open spaces, ramps and elevators, and wheelchair-accessible stalls and restrooms throughout both venues. If you require any additional medical-related exemptions or accommodations to attend CHFA NOW, please contact events@chfa.ca
