From A to Z Let’s start at the very beginning… A for Austria and the CLC Alpine Centre.

Our resort is also just 8km from Z as in Zell am See, an attractive lakeside town with the Kitzsteinhorn glacier covered in snow all year and with swimming, water sports, beach games and boat cruises.

And then there are adjectives, places and activities for every letter of the alphabet in-between! The resort is 6km from Saalfelden, a city in the Saalachtal Valley amid several significant mountain ranges. Ideal for winter sports lovers with over 700km of ski slopes nearby - and summer’s hikers, bikers, spa seekers and culture vultures. Any time of year, it’s a great place to be.

The resort is surrounded by 20 or so small villages, each of which has its own charm where visitors can enjoy typical Austrian cuisine in the numerous restaurants or “Gasthöfen”.

A holiday centre for high adrenalin alpine thrill seekers, with masses of alternatives for those who prefer a gentler pace!

Stay cosy in our apartments A picture-postcard pretty, traditional, alpine resort, with decorative carving and sloping eaves, within which the apartments continue the wood theme dĂŠcor and are well provided for comfortable living with a choice of studio, one or two bedrooms. Many have balconies from which to enjoy spectacular views.

Apartments are heated and equipped with appliances that include Satellite TV, hairdryer, telephone, iron & board and a kitchenette that includes a fridge, hobs, coffee machine and toaster.

Some units also offer a CD player, oven, microwave and dishwasher.

Food at CLC Alpine Centre Fresh air and activity filled days stimulate everyone’s appetites, which is why food is so important at the CLC Alpine Centre. Our family-friendly restaurant has an inviting Austrian ambience, while the menus are appetising and varied, offering delicious breakfast and theme nights with different cuisines.

Much emphasis is given to the use of local fresh ingredients, providing opportunity to sample Austrian specialities, with a large selection of international and domestic wines, or locally distilled Schnapps, to accompany your meals.

You can also take advantage of our half-board dining option.

Ideal for winter sports lovers There are over 700km of ski slopes nearby. Whatever your level of skiing, you will be spoilt for choice. The well known and closest ski areas to the resort are the pretty village of Kaprun and the attractive lakeside town of Zell am See. Both offer snow sure skiing with glacier skiing up on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. Do not hesitate to contact the Resort Reception for information on the shuttle services available to the closest slopes.

Austrian Après-ski The Austrians are famed for dancing on the tables and some would say that when having your ski boots fitted in Austria, you should make sure that first and foremost you can dance in them, and secondly that you can ski in them!

Enjoy the CLC Alpine après-ski terrace with a warm and friendly atmosphere, something that is quite unique to this country.

Depending on weather conditions, an ice rink is available in the garden opposite the après ski terrace.

Guests also have the resort’s own walking path through the woods to enjoy.

Experience the great outdoors Journeying within approximately 10km radius of the resort there are many things to see and do including Zeller Lake; Schmittenhöhe mountain; Kona Bikepark/Asitz mountain with its ‘Senses Adventure Park’ and Glemmy Offroad Park with guided tours through forests and fields.

Popular excursions further off include: · Magnificent city of Salzburg, birthplace of 18th Century Composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and set for “The Sound of Music” tours · Krimml Waterfalls · Hallein Salt Mines · Ice caves and fortress in Werfen · The walled city of Kitzbühel · Eisriesenwelt ice cave · Grossglockner High Alpen Pass, a spectacular road, with a wild animal park, that winds up Austria’s highest mountain. · The city of Innsbruck with its landmark “Golden Roof” built in 1500 · Munich and its famous “Hofbräuhaus”, an old beer hall founded in 1589 by the Duke of Bavaria, Wilhelm V.

Sightseeing in Saalfelden Saalfelden, a market town since the14thC, lies close by and attractions include 4 castles (privately owned), and a parish church that links back to the Middle Ages but is mostly Gothic in style.

It also has the unusual!

Saalfelden’s Thorer chapel, built by a wife to commemorate her emigrated husband, and a hermit residing in one of Europe’s last remaining hermitages - the ‘path of silence’ to the meadows of idyllic Steinalm takes you past.

The area is famed for cheese.

The local Pinzgauer Bierkas (beer cheese), made from pasteurised milk and marinated in beer, has a spicy and aromatic character.
