INTERNAL CLUBS From the President Hello Members, Welcome to the Autumn edition of the “What’s On” magazine. I hope you all enjoyed Christmas with family and friends as I did. Christmas Day lunch in '242ate' was 1st class and completely sold out. What a great day Australia Day was - the rain didn’t hinder us with staff moving the kid’s area upstairs. There was a Jumping Castle, Fairy Floss machine and Egg & Spoon races thanks to Aunty Cathy. Well done to members and staff who helped to make it the best Australia Day yet! Also, it was terrific to see John Loring and Montinee Graham, two of our staff, become Australian Citizens. We have great shows coming up in the next 3 months and if you are reading my report you will already have the “What’s On” in your hand so go to the foyer to book the shows you wish to see. We have started the 2015 year with both Clubs doing well at this point. The club's terrific trading results have continued throughout 2015. That is, as at 31st January 2015, the club's financial performance is a net profit of $574,450, which is up on last year's net loss of $52,069 by an impressive $626,519. The club's financial position is considered sound with accumulated cash of $1,422,774 as at 31st January 2015. We have ordered a new bus to replace the older one and it should be delivered in the middle of this year and yes we are having it fitted with an automatic step. We have also upgraded our tennis courts and bowling facilities at the Sports Club, and around April – May, your Board has given the okay to do a further extension and renovation at Sporties Tuncurry. We have just about finished the long awaited staff room at Club Forster- it all takes time. Please take the time to have a look at our Sports Lounge and I hope to see you around the Club or on the Greens in 2015.

CURTIS LANDERS APPEAL RAFFLE DRAWN
Australia Day 2015 marked the final fundraising event in the 'Curtis Landers : Road to Recovery' Appeal - and that was the drawing of the major raffle with the first prize of a boating package supplied by Graeme Barclay Marine, a TV donated by Harvey Norman, Taree & Forster, and a BBQ donated by Masters, Taree. The Landers Family requested that all raffle sales on the day be donated to the Westpac Helicopter Rescue Service, and on hand to receive the $975 raised on the day, was Ted Bickford and his wife Denise, pictured here with Curtis himself - a true inspiration of determination against the odds - and great local success story.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW AUSSIES!
Australia Day 2015 also marks the day when our new Aussies are welcomed as permanent citizens at the Official Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony held each year in the Galaxy Showroom, Club Forster. Amongst the recipients this year were 2 of our very own staff members, John Loring and Montinee Graham pictured here with Peter Clarke & Claire Fletcher. We welcome them both as Aussies with open arms and shout out a big 'Oi, Oi, Oi!'

NO CARD, NO DISCOUNT
WHY?
Over the years there has been a gross misuse by some patrons who have deceived staff, and ultimately you the member, by stating that they were members when indeed they are not. This has cost our clubs many thousands of dollars per year. At a meeting held on 27th January 2015, the Board have resolved to reintroduce compulsory card swiping by members. From Monday 2nd March 2015 it will be a requirement for financial Members to present their Membership Card when making any purchase at Club Forster & the Sporties Tuncurry in order to receive your 10% MEMBER’S DISCOUNT, and also to gain valuable Membership Loyalty Points.
Remember - NO CARD, NO DISCOUNT!
PLUS USE YOUR CARD AND
SAVE!
The requirement to show your Membership Card when making a purchase guarantees that you, as a Member, will not be missing out on accumulating valuable Loyaly Points that you can use on a variety of purchases within our clubs. You will also save at least 10% of any food or beverage purchase (except bottle shop purchases), plus receive generous discounts on most show tickets. So, please present your Membership Card to staff when requested, and enjoy the benefits of being a Member!
MEMBER'S NOTICE
IT'S THE LAW! MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO PRODUCE THEIR MEMBERSHIP CARD IN ORDER TO GAIN ENTRY TO THE CLUB AND TO OBTAIN DISCOUNTS, AS WELL AS GAIN VALUABLE LOYALTY POINTS.
SO PLEASE DO NOT BE OFFENDED WHEN ASKED BY STAFF TO SIGHT OR SWIPE YOUR CARD, AS THEY ARE ONLY CARRYING OUT THEIR LEGAL DUTY.
remember NO CARD MEANS NO ENTRY! AND NO CARD MEANS NO DISCOUNT AND NO LOYALTY POINTS!

APRIL 'DRUMSTRUCK' Saturday 11th April @ 8.00pm "Delighted children and scores of adults banged away on the drum clutched tightly between their legs as if newly releases from an asylum… [the] performers demonstrate not only amazing rhythmic abilities, but also enough high energy, athleticism and charisma to make a compelling case for drumming as a future Olympic event.” Review by The New York Post The brainchild of the Drum Cafe’s Warren Lieberman and co-created with Kathy-Jo Wein, Drum Struck premiered in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2002. It has since become a phenomenon, touring the world with shows in New York, Japan, Australia, China, Vietnam, and South Africa. The show was billed as the first interactive drum-theatre experience, and has won over audiences world-wide with its exhilarating presentation of African beats and explosive energy. This one of a kind show provides every audience member with a drum to play along with the on stage performers. Playing to sold out houses and receiving standing ovations at every venue, this unique phenomenon, rooted in African culture, is a thoroughly engaging spectacle that provides the audience with pure interactive fun and entertainment that is perfect for the whole family.
