Who are Cloud and what is Mindsett?
Cloudfm Group was formed in 2011 providing facilities managementservicesto multi-siteorganisationsacrossthe UK and Ireland.In 2018 we expandedour operationsto Spain. In 2022 we were able to apply for a patent for our product PRISM®. It is unique in the market and is becoming highly sought after across many sectors and in global markets, including via channel partners: providing insights that traditional smart metering cannot achieve.
The purpose of Mindsett is to make today’s world more sustainable by helping prevent the needless waste of energy and resource.

How PRISM® works
Mindsett’s unique PRISM® device is installed directly to your site’s distribution board and can monitor 36 channels per device. Information is collected via Wi-Fi and is fed into our machine learning and artificial intelligence models.
The interaction between these two models enables us to provide in-depth asset and energy information in a convenient format. We use apps, dashboards and reports to communicate actionable information that can be used to change behaviours and save energy.

What does good look like?
We could never have enough eyes ' to be monitoring all assets all the time, and we don't want your building occupiers or your customers, spotting something is wrong before you do.
Mindsett PRISM®'s vigilant monitoring, allows us to keep a constant eye on how your assets are behaving. Within a short time we understand which of your assets are operating outside of their specific 'fingerprint' baseline of normal.

How PRISM® identified a £2.3m energy saving for one client
Mindsett worked alongside a long-term Cloudfm client though multiple iterations of its current core product: PRISM®. Initially installed at three sites of the group’s 200+ site estate, PRISM® was extended to over 30 sites.
The group oversees a significant operation with over 5,000 staff members and serving over 13 million customers annually. Across all the group’s brands, there is a consistent focus on creating a phenomenal customer experience in a first-class environment.
With an operation of this size finer details can be missed in favour of the “bigger picture”. At Mindsett, we know that the detail is where the saving is, not just fiscally, but also in terms of energy consumption and effectively - the planet. The client was keen to get deeper insights when it came to their energy consumption, to make plans for minimising it. With ESG targets in place, it was paramount that sites ran as sustainably as possible.
For this client the ability to achieve accurate data from a complex multi-site estate, was vital. The properties in their portfolio and assets on site, varied from being brand new, to decades old.
Mindsett’s asset level energy-monitoring technology was ideal, because of the actionable insights it produced and the efficiency of the data. Over time, once an acceptable amount of data points had been collected on an asset, we were able to demonstrate our predictive maintenance solution. Enabling the group to get ahead of asset failures and focus on striving for customer excellence.

solution revealed that three asset classes accounted for 85% of the overall consumption
Outcome
After agreeing to instal PRISM®., Mindsett and our installation partners, conducted out of hours installations, so not to disrupt trade to the individual sites.
To provide accurate contextual savings and avoid biased data, we took energy consumption data from a significant portion of the client’s estate (418 sites) and compared them to the three pilot sites.
We discovered that the top three asset classes accounted for 85% of the overall consumption, meaning three asset categories were consuming close to 100% of the energy for these pilot sites. Also noted was that close to half (43%) of all energy consumption was directly related to one activity.
In the duration of the pilot-site data analysis, Mindsett identified a potential saving of 21%. Based on reducing individual asset consumption, targeting the out of hours energy spend, and focusing on changing behaviours towards energy at these sites.
This saving increases to 23% when extrapolated across the client’s entire portfolio.
Looking to the Future
Along with those savings, the Mindsett team also provided a picture of what the client could expect in a year’s time if PRISM®. was installed estate-wide. We showed that within a year, our client would see full payback on their original investment and an ROI of 203%.
When it came to fiscal savings, we demonstrated they had the potential to reach £2.3m reduction on energy spend, and from a sustainability point of view, this amounted to reducing consumption by 16.8m kWh and 5,214 tonnes of Co2.
Since the trial sites went live, Mindsett’s PRISM™ device has been installed in an additional 18 sites with plans to increase this further in 2023.

ESG targets and Net Zero by 2035 –
our science-based approach
Cloud is aiming to lead the facilities management industry with a full-scope net zero emissions target for 2035.
Guided by our Head of ESG, Kat Christopoulos, we have already met our scope 1 and 2 science-based emissions targets and are now setting our sights on scope 3.
Recognising that a large part of our carbon footprint is in scope 3, which includes the indirect emissions produced by a business. It includes factors such as employee commutes, business travel, waste disposal, goods and services acquired, products produced, product disposal at the end of their useful lives, distribution, and more.
We have chosen to set Science-Based targets (SBTi), to measure the pace of change and inform plans to ensure rigor around the goals. The Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a partnership between CDP, a not-for-profit charity that runs
the global environmental disclosure and reporting system, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
Science-based targets show companies how much and how quickly they need to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to prevent the worst effects of climate change and keep within a 1.5oC temperature rise.
We are also engaging our supply chain with a new programme to help them manage the transition to net zero.
Through teaming up with EcoVadis, the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, with a global network of more than 100,000 companies, EcoVadis has awarded Cloud an Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) score to enable the company to manage its impacts across these broad areas better. As a result, we have already achieved a Gold medal rating placing us in the top 5% of all businesses.

Not at all. PRISM®picks up where traditional smart metering ends. Smart meters, provide energy consumption data for a building as a whole, but with PRISM® you receive energy consumption data right down to the asset level. You can see exactly what each individual item of equipment such as fridges, computers, HVAC, or coffee machines are consuming, and what it is costing you.
Also, with PRISM® you open the door to the possibility of ‘Mindsett Index’ and Predictive Maintenance.
