1 year Physiognomy Mystery

It was November 2017 when a newly formed group decided to create something different: special events inspired by a Greek mystery book. CloseDoors was born and organized initially in Athens mystery themed events inspired from the Greek book Physiognomy, Distorted Truth in collaboration with the book’s author. So, Physiognomy Mystery Events began to spread gradually in 4 other Greek cities (Rhodes, Chania, Zakynthos, Lamia) and later in Bulgaria (Sofia & Plovdiv), Romania (Bucharest & Iasi), Serbia (Belgrade) and Croatia (Zagreb & Zadar). Music, role playing mystery games, arts & paintings and book reading are combined in by-invitation-only events open to our private club. By word of mouth, the first by-invitation-only events of 25 people became popular and reached recently up to 1500 people. Now we celebrate one year with this small photo-art book. Exceptionally, we will also post parts of this collection to members outside of our community.

Athens

Photography by Maria Nikitiadi, May 2018. Our friend reads a selected collection from the novel Physiognomy, Truth Distorted as translated in Spanish in order to solve the mystery. Many of our games are for kids and multilingual (English/French/Spanish), as a lot of foreigners participate actively in the events.

Zakynthos

July 2018. Our community have a lot of talented members. One of them, Niki Asimaki created this mask by dividing it into two different colors which reflect the bipolarity of main characters of the novel Physiognomy, Truth Distorted.

Rhodes

Painting by Katerina Mantoudi as exhibited in July 2017. The painting incorporates elements from the Mediterranean region and the Ancient Egyptian mysticism and was included in our mystery games in Rhodes.

Sofia

Photography & make-up by Ivan Stoikov, June 2018. During an adult crime game, the participants didn’t solve the case quickly. Finally, when you are late to find the criminals, you cannot help the victim anymore.

Zadar

July 2018. Special versions of famous online mystery games, like Oxenfree, were used during many events.
